Graphic Slowdown after latest SE update? - Sony Ericsson XPERIA X10 Mini

Guys, i have updated my u20i to version 2.1.1.A.0.6. At a glance, it looks ok to me, but when i run benchmark like Neocore or Quadrant Advanced, it definitely shows that the graphic performance is lower in comparison with previous 2.0.0.A.2.4 one.
Previous:
Neocore :47.8FPS
Quadrant: 500-530 (60fps on 3D Planet)
Now:
Neocore: 37.8 FPS
Quadrant: 470-510 (42fps on 3D Planet)
Anybody feels the same issue? Or should i reflash it again? It's still vanilla install, just Link2SD and Rooted like before, and already reset to Factory Data Reset. No JIT though, and i don't wanna use JIT because of the Wifi problem.. Any suggestion would be great

Same with my x10mini... Hope someone can solve this

Yep, same with my E10i on 2.1.1.A.0.6, Quadrant scores are way down (fresh install with JIT enabled and multiple tries I can barely get over 545 in quadrant, most down around 500)... WTF? Stupid SE.. might have to switch back to .24
Anyone have idea why this might be?

hello, how did u do with JIT? it is for the version .6?
can give me a TUT?
thx.....

Had the same issue.
For me changing heapsize to 32 helped.
Results with heapsize 30: 490 - 510
Results with heapsize 32: 530-590

hello, may i ask how to go back to .24 from .6?

I thought this thread already gone down to the grave lol
small update: JIT is definitely more stable with .06 firmware, Wifi keep working for a long time. But still hangs when i rebooted and accessed the device too fast, but it's no big deal compared to the much more fluid gameplay of Angry Birds..

Cool finding there bro, will try it now
Besides of slowdown, it seems that the graphics got stuttered.. Not bad, but disturbing.. :/

So I think we have gathered from this that 2.1.1.A.0.6 definately has some graphics and speed issues, the question is.. do we switch back to .24 or do we wait for SE to release another update?
perhaps people need to contact Sony Ericsson, play dumb and ask how to switch back to the old firmware because their phones are slower now... at least they would be awear of the problem then..
What to do.. what to do.. hrm.. (I really want to keep playing with 2.2 ports so might have to stick with 2.1.1.A.0.6 for a bit)
Kiwi

ummm there are alot of .24 roms available here in the forum just download whichever you think is best haha.. for me i just did a backup with xrecovery prior to updating my phone to .6, so just did a restore.. works good for me ^^

Hope this gets resolved.
Me, I am staying on .24 for now!

Well.. as .6 makes some kernel changes which are not touched by xrecovery, just switching back and forth with xrecovery backups isn't really changing from .6 - .24 etc.. and .24 frameworks will cause bootloop on .6 (perhaps not the other way round if you are running .24 backup on the .6 kernel.. you are still running .6 tho.. despite what you might think )
The only real way to switch between firmware is by flashing with Flashtool. (then you can restore your data and themes with xrecovery)
I'm only interested in testing Cyanogen mod which is unfortunately based on .6 firmware, so I will stick with it for now.

Though I never done it but I think using xrecovery would do the job. Provided you install it in .6 as well.

[bootloader bypass guide and report thread][alfa release only!!!!][april 1rst]

Yes, the Bootloader have been successfully bypassed!!!!!!.
I know that, like me, a lot of people is goin to try this, so I believe it is a good idea to have a thread to give feedback, report bugs and post dev-related information without getting the the original thread SPAMMED,
Since future releases would be done through recognised devs, this thread would be ONLY FOR THE ALFA RELEASE MADE BY Z ON MARCH 31.
This is the original message from Z:
========================================================================================================================
Ok, here we go. It wasn't the April Fool thingy
The bootloader has been bypassed using the kexec/miniloader method
We are able to boot custom kernels now!
I'll keep it short as I'm quite busy today... I haven't had much luck with disabling MPU nor resetting a MCPU - it failed no matter what I did. Same thing with porting shutdown procedures into miniloader. But when I found out that the custom kernel doesn't reboot on baseband 52, I switched to the .504 sources and restarted the work. Using the debugfs tips by Goroh, I realised some stuff I'd rather to keep in between the developers here... And then *poof* - the green USB led appeared and I knew I was getting there!
Anyway... this is the first release of the fully working custom kernel (flashable via xRecovery). I haven't had much time to work on it so it's kind of proof-of-concept. Tested for 48h without any problem (not even a reboot).
FreeKernel-alpha1:
http://www.mediafire.com/?d8v914keiqsmc3n
This is the alpha version of custom 2.6.29 kernel based on the SE sources. I do not plan to work on this release anymore - it is just for testing purpose. From today on I'll start to port SE stuff to the latest (GBread) kernel.
Changes:
- removed 32 fps cap
- implemented netfilter (Droid wall, native USB/wifi tethering etc.)
- undervolted to 0.950mV to save battery
- don't remember what else I did, I bet something nasty
- super ugly boot logo!
Requirements:
- baseband .52 + the relevant kernel
- clean 2.1 ROM, compatibile with .52 baseband (e.g. .504)
- working xRecovery
Please note I am not responsible for any damage this software may cause to your device! Use it at your own risk!
There is absolutely no support for this alpha release!
Big thanks to (no particular order): Goroh_kun, Jerpelea, Bin4ry, Maxrfon, Biktor_gj and everybody else who contributed into X10 custom kernel development.
At first the relevant kernel patches/sources will be delivered to the recognised X10 developers. Later on everything will be released as it's obviously Open Sourced.
Please refrain from posting comments in this thread - it's for developers only. Spamming will only make our task harder to accomplish!
Cheers,
z

After installing the custom Kernel my Xperia flys!!!!! Everything is soooo much smooth and you can see with Quadrant that fps rising over 30
Now we have to wait for the newest Kernel!

quadrant fps raising over 30, mean increase in 3D score?
Just out of interest, what is visual performance like without the frame cap?

Yes
Normally it has to improve the 3D performance.... but if i play Angry Birds it feels laggy. If i use Launcher Pro or srolling down pages it feels like..... Don´t know how to say

Flash JIT V2 on your FW... it has to improve the performance
i agree. everything about my phone since installing this kernel makes my x10 feel and run like crap. fps suck. 2.1 rom again? what the F? this is very dissapointing.. kudos to the devs for bypassing but get real. what changes really are there? when i have overclock and fps real does go past the 33 tops that i reach on quadrant then ill try again. especially if i dont have to use a crap 2.1 se rom.
Edit: ok i have it working. this is what is up with it. fps only changes from 30 fps cap on the quadrant test when you have the rotating planets. i pegged at damn near 50fps. unfortunately this is the only one where fps were high. as i normally run z's b4 with data2sd. i peg on the same one at 33fps. being that we are only able to run this on a 2.1 se rom as of the moment. quadrant scores are going to suck. i normally run 2700 on b4 with data2sd.
As for overclocking.... not at the moment. yes it is a custom kernel but overclocking is not part of this kernel. with one is compiled to allow overclocking and the use of other basebands and builds such as .54 .55 .58, we will still be stuck with a max of 998 on our cpu. but once it is available with other builds and overclocking is allowed. we should easily be able to push close to 3000 on quadrant.
I had it installed before. Do I install it again?

[Q] [ROM][Beta3][24.05.2011] Gingerbread 2.3.3 with HTC Sense 2.1 Kernel Issues

Today a tried ogo2's beta3 ROM. In SetCPU I can't change the frequency. There are min 480-max 600 Mhz, if I change the value, nothing happens. That's wrong because it drains my battery.
Yeah, same problem here... such a pity because other than that its a great ROM!
Not really an 'issue' - the kernel isn't set up to allow overclocking, so why would it?
Not just overclocking. I can't go under 480 Mhz. That's a bigger problem for me.

I don't think the kernel allows you to change clock speeds from the MAX600 MIN480 HTC set as the default. Not an issue, but that feature will be added sometime (ogo2 said it would eventually I think)
OK, I thought that the default min clock speed is 245 Mhz.
Oh ok, didn't know it depended on the kernel, thanks.. This may be a totally noob question, but this is the Q&A section so, can I not just flash another kernel that does enable overclocking...?
Guys, cannot start neither beta3 nor beta4. When flash beta3 (through Clockworkmod 3), the system doesn't load, green 'HTC' letters tend to reboot. After beta4 installation the same screen, but static - without any reboots. I have S-ON. Wiping doesn't help.
Please, advise what to do.
Cheers!

I eventually answered my own question.. You can just flash another kernel.. Look under the Overclocking tutorial in the Dev section...
It's ok now, I am using B-ROM. In this I've got too much reboot, battery drain, GPS issues, etc. Maybe beta 5-6-7 will get a chance...

If I installing a different ROM I always do a full wipe sure. I did not do full wipe, if I installing a newer version of a same ROM. Btw the most stable ROM is Blayo's, next Cyanogen, but there are no new sense...

[Q] Placebo effect when overclocking x10 mini pro..

Hello, I'm using stock 2.1 ROM and tryed to overclock with x8oc.ko module, but what I get is just placebo. In SetCPU I can raise freq. above 800Mhz. I set 728mhz, but when run quadrant bechmark there is no increase in score, It's about 550. It doesn't matter what freq. I set I still get score like with stock speeds. Whats wrong? When flashed to slade87_MiniCM6 everything works just fine, I easily get 1000 in quadrant. Please help, I'm really want to have overclock in stock ROM, because I like it
So, any ideas? Why I can't speed up my x10mp with 2.1 android?
http://forum.xda-developers.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=634261&stc=1&d=1308833600
here 768mhz on slade87 2.2 rom
http://forum.xda-developers.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=634262&stc=1&d=1308833600
here 768mhz on stock 2.1 rom
Why there is no increse in quadrant? :/
Because stock 2.1 doesn't recognise all of the ko file's components
Thanks for at least one reply So, it's impossible to overclock on stock 2.1 or just need to add some files?
i didn't know if you did something wrong or not.. but i already test overclocking with my 2.1 stock rom.. and it's going fine with no error or something like u said.. i got 745 in quadrant.. i didn't think that the eclair 2.1 will get around 1000 because that is an eclair you know.. it's different from froyo..
of course the analogy is like this
eclair < froyo < gingerbread
CMIIW
It's only for 2.1.1.A.0.6 with xxx15 baseband. Check the requirements.

Yes, I know that. I have right rom version and baseband.. But overclocking is not working. I can set higher mhz in setCpu, but that's all.. no performance increase anywhere.. tried to play angry birds, but there still is some laggy levels. On slades87 roms overclocking totaly works. No lag in angry birds. In stock 2.1 rom what I get is just biger numbers and no performance increase. Sorry, for bad english.

[Q] Wolf's V3.5

Hello,
Yesterday I installed Wolf's package. Now I redid the whole thing with the new V3.5
My question:
Are speedfixes and tweaks included in the Wolf_GB_2.3_TW_V3.5.zip?
My problems:
-Neocore only gives me 30.7 fps
-Quadrant only gives my 1100 points
And I'm pretty sure I installed the package correctly.

How's your battery life with that rom, if I may ask?

Im currently on the first WB and speedfix 008v4.
Do I need to completely reflash to get to 3.5, and then update to 3.6?
Whats the difference between all the different ROMS? Found like 6 on XDA? Which one is the most popular, WB?
Thanks
