i accidentally flashed x10 firmware to x10 mini xperia phone....
ive used SEUS but phone cant identify and cant flashed...
i also use flashtool by bin4ry.. but xperia phone cant also detect
in SEUS error:
failed to detect product
The product could not be identified.
Please disconnect it and try again.
any help.... any solution....
br,
is your battery still charged? if you left it to install the X10 firmware then it may have drained the battery.. this aint good, try plugging it into the wall charger for a few hours and see if that helps...
Then press the power and middle button at the same time to reboot (its the same as removing the battery) then plug the phone in holding down the back button to flash with flashtool or SEUS.
Keep trying, it may take a few goes to get the timing right to flash.. but it will work eventually.
Good luck
Kiwi
actually, firmware certificates in x10 and e10 (x10 mini) totally different, so it is absolutely not possible, that x10 firmware will ever be flashed in e10.
most probably, that "flashtool" rewrote partition table to x10 one. (assume that flashtool author not fixed it)
do you have access to some man, who owns setool2 software ?

Hi Laser! (nice to see you hanging around the mini forum!!)
It might not be possible in theory (you know more about this than I do)
(and I think you have to be really careless to even try) but I know of a bunch of Noob's that have bricked their phones trying to install X10 software not knowing the difference (whether it is just as you say the partition table being changed or Flashtool actually trying to copy the files (because of a program error) onto the mini and filling its small memory up with the larger X10 firmware) usually just reflashing with the correct firmware in flashtool fixes the problem. (its just a matter of timing the flash with the boot loops) so it can take a few goes to get it right. no need for setool2 tho.
(I am always amazed at how resilient these little phones are, I guess thats one good thing about SE locking the Bootloader down so tight.. it makes it impossible to really brick)
If you think there is some way to modify Flashtool so this can't happen.. please let Bin4ry know! (it would make the software more user friendly for Noob's)

Holy Crap dude! do you have a filter that picks up on everytime Flashtool is mentioned? (I was pretty confident there is nothing wrong with flashtool, I was surprised to see the_laser on the min thread tho)
Is flashtool just pushing the Big X10 files to the E10/U20's and filling their little memories up? you have to be daft to try it.. but Noob's will be Noobs.
(I checked out the GUI version the other day.. its looking good, but I will stick to the old non GUI version for now.. much easier for me and it never fails) you can make something too complicated by adding too many features.. I like to use flash tool to flash.
you and androxyde are doing a great job tho! good luck getting all the features working on the mini!

Hello everybody!
At first, sorry for my bad english but I've got a really big problem!
After updating the latest stock rom over PC Companion, I wanted to get Root with X10root.apk...so far...after rooting the device I've got the "great" idea to download Market Enabler cause I couldn't see Root Explorer FREE inside the market...
after reboot the disaster...
many apps FC at startup :-(
wrong display resolution :-(
no chance to accept root permission, popup is not shown in cause of the wrong resolution...difficult to explain...
Can't reflash with PCC or SEUS..."no Software avialible for your device!"
Can't install xRecovery:
APK - Can't accept root...the resolution problem
ADB - system read only
What the hell?!?!?!
Any suggestions? My Girlfriend will kill me if she notice whats up with her X10
P.S. Superuser don't disappear after factory reset...is this normal??
In this case I've got no warranty...right???
Oh damn...my girl REALLY killing me...
Hello Jozinek, thanks for the quick reply...

X10 Flash tool??
I tried it serveral times with the "SE Flash Driver" installed...it alway says:
"Waiting for device" or "Waiting for Xperia"...something like that...
I clicked on the FLASH button...then connected the device with pressed hold button for recovery...Result: Waiting for Xperia...
Click in the flasher to flash until you see waiting for device (or something like that)
Turn the phone off hold the back button then quickly plug the usb cable in the mini and hold
Does it not flash close the flasher on your pc and try over again!
Sent from my U20i using XDA App
Or try it in another windows version.
Worked for me.
flash tool not working on xp but working on windows 7.
I've tried EVERYTHING!!!!!
deinstalled all drivers...reinstalled...etc...
Update with PCC, SEUS, X10 Flash Tool (my last hope)
Then I've tried it on my mates laptop with windows 7...no luck again...PCC,SEUS,Flash Tool...I was really desperate at this point!!!
Now I tried again, another mate, another computer...
First try with PCC...no problem...reflash...READY!!!
But...........WTF?????
Why PCC says "No update for your device" on 2 different PCs and finally works on the third one?? This could not be a driver problem!!
Now I'm very glad not need to hide from my girlfriend!
Glad to see that you revived your GFs phone
Just to inform you, x10 series is hard to brick.. I brick it countless of times and i just reflash it with Binary Flash tool.
Sometimes your windows and drivers can be a problem. For instance, when i bought my Mini it was on stocked android 1.6, when i tryed to update him i got message that there is no update for my phone. I googled a bit and visit SE site, and there it is, my FW was listed as a part of 2.1 update, but again, i was unable to update. I reinstalled my Win (from XP to Win7) and first thing that i do is to try to update my Mini.. And there it is! Update available!!
Anyway.. Mini cant be bricked, after everything that i did to him, so many reflashes and it works like a charm.
i, hi also bricked my GD phone after trying to debrand it.
i replace the build.prop file with this one E10i_build.prop_UK_Generic and then i rebooted.
since this time, the only thing that appears on my screen is sony ericsson, then it reboots.....
what can i do to make it work again?
thanks for your help.
finally i managed to make it work again.
i m relieved
I don't know about PC Companion, I prefer the SE Update Service (SEUS).
Even tought there are no newer Firmware, it's always possible to reinstall/repair with the same firmware as the phone already have.
Used SEUS for that several times trying to revive a M1i Aspen. Luckily the X10 Mini is a little harder to brick
i guess you're german? then try this

müsste auf jedenfall funktionieren =)

ftf verses rar?
My x10 mini pro is also bricked. It just looping when rebooting. I trying to use flashtool to fix it, but I am stuck.
Downloaded the U20i 2.1 firmware. But, this is a rar file. The flashtool wants a ftf file. How do I manage this problem?

a rar file is just a compressed file (like a .zip)
if your on windows, download 7zip or WinRar and try extracting the rar file.. (you might find the files that you need are in there) flashtool requires a bunch of .sin files should be 8 or 9 of them... loader.sin, system.sin etc
stick these in the firmware folder of flashtool and you should be good to go.
(I was the first person to test "Flashtool" for Bin4ry on the X10mini last year and I have never had a problem with it)
Kiwi
interesting story Lol .. thank god u got her phone fixed .. =P ..
I made a terrible mistake, I followed the instructions to update to MiniCM6 and forgot the 'Factory Reset' before restarting my phone.
Now the X11 mini keeps rebooting in loop, I cannot access xRecovery any more. When I withdraw the battery and plug the usb when pressing the back button, I can flash with FlashTool.exe again as I needed before to have the baseband 015.
I don't know what to to and cannot find any clue on the forum.
tomorrow will be a day without phone... back to the 80's
Someone knows what I could do?
(To be more precise I uploaded MiniCM7, not MiniCM6)
The software Sony PC companon told me that there is not version yet available for this model, very strange after warning me that all my data would be deleted I hoped a full restore (it also requires a start with the back button pressed)
Do a SEUS repair, install recovery through the flash tool and then go to the Mini PRO forum and download their ROMs because a Mini Pro cannot use a Mini (without the keyboard) ROM and visa versa.
Let this be a lesson to always follow the instructions... thats why they there...
Good luck!!

According to the sony forum it seems I'm not the only one without repair option on SEUS and having "there is no software available for your phone yet, please try again later" on PC compagnon.
But non of the threads finish well...
I think Vodafone Australia didn't do their homework somehow... and Sony punishes their customers...

I've spent hours using it... remember I have no phone anymore, it's a good motivation.
This whole thread that you link (thank you for trying) just say "launch SEUS". Basically, the first thing that I tried before writing here.
I though you use to have such problem and had your own way. But since the SEUS and PC Compagnon failed you seems as powerless as me
Even on the SE forum nobody know what to do when the "repair" is just not available.
There's a ROM for each provider, I guess Sony bugged on Vodafone Australia.
Then, Try this

If you can't fix your device with that thread, you should take it to Someone who knows how to do it, You can make more damage to your device, if you do something bad.
Hope it works for you.

Hi guys!
I think I killed my phone. I upgraded to the GingerDx - V13 ROM, the first day it was working fine. Then the next day the screen is getting messed up until it won't start anymore. I tried using PC companion to hopefully factory reset it but (which it manages to finish the restoration) but now it is really not booting. It just lights up and then turns off. No SE logo or anything. Now I'm stuck as I don't know what to do next.
Thanks in advance to anyone that can help.

PC companion is not good.. try flash with SEUS..!! Google it..u may find a download..
In order to restore a bricked mini pro:
-Launch SEUS (NOT PC Companion)
-When asked to plug the phone, press Home+Back (and keep them pressed) and then plug the phone on usb.
-Release Home and only keep the "back" button pressed.
If you followed the sequence properly, you will see the green led on and flashing process will start. If not, try it again.

I forgot to say that my LED is not working anymore (dunno why) I am trying to find SEUS installer. It seemed like you can't download it through SE's website.
EDIT:
WTF?! I dunno there's another XPERIA Mini Pro which is NOT X10 Mini Pro. I flashed my X10 Mini Pro with the Xperia Mini Pro ROM Maybe that's why it's not booting anymore.
I tried reflashing it with the correct X10 Mini Pro (via PC Companion) ROM but still no effect. Maybe I messed up the phone big time? I will try SEUS if I can find one. I hope it works.

try to unplug your batterie, wait ... plug the batterie, start into recovery ( clockmod ) and reflash with a new rom .
If your bootloader is lock, you cant brick your phone
How to rescue our bricked phone for x8 http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1011071
PS: Are you sure you have the good firmware ?
In the post of doixant ( x8 ), you can see : Latest kernel and latest baseband xxx015
Another exemple : MiniCM7 for X10 mini ( not pro ) : Latest 2.1.1.A.0.6/2.1.1.C.0.0 SE firmware / Baseband: M76XX-TSNCJOLYM-53404015 due to kernel dependencies. This is automatically tested during the installation.
I guess, it's same for all custom rom

Hello helpful reader,
I'm messing with a friend's X10 Mini because he wanted a "higher android version update" on his phone, and since I myself have a X8, I kindly offered to root it and flash a ROM to it.
So I found out the bootloader couldn't be unlocked, so I installed CWM manual (via Root Explorer) and flashed GingerDX (for X8 it can be installed to stock kernel, so why not on the X10 Mini?)
But it seems to get stuck in the kernel logo (Sony Ericsson) and I found out quite late the battery is mounted to the phone..
I tried to get in flash mode for programs such as PC Companion, Flashtool, etc..., but no success there, since I can only "reboot" the phone by pressing Power + Home. It doesn't shut down!
Another tutorial around these forums showed how you can plug out the battery wire, but I'm afraid to do that, since it's not my phone..
Can anyone help me out?
...with companion open (and pressed repair...etc) plug usb the bricked phone, then press Home+Power+Back button, when note a little vibration, stop press home+power button but let pressed Back button, you enter in flash mode.

I dont remember the link to the guide but you can try searching in the forum someone explains how to disconnect your battery from the phone.
Btw if you dont want to take some risks yourself than take it to the sony ericsson customre care but they are gonna charge more than they usually will do.
Its always best to use the sony ericsson update service to reset the phone(If you got the courage to remove the battery).
P.S.-Be careful while flashing roms coz x8 rom is only for the x8 and not for other phones. Sometimes due to Baseband and firmware difference some roms which are meant for the x8 dont work on the x8(I've taken the x8 as an example bcoz your device is the x8). Click thanks if my post was helpful
