[Q] Mouse and Keyboard for Archos Gen 8 - Gen8, Gen9, Gen10 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi, I'm a recent owner of the Archos Gen 8 and have also bought a bluetooth keyboard and mouse for the device.
The keyboard is working ok, but the mouse itself seems not native to the android os. For example, double-clicks equal to a touch in the screen, and I cannot select texts in documents-to-go, and so on. My question is whether it is possible that anyone can port the mouse-driver to the android so the mouse could work better?
Just my two-cent question since I know nothing about programming nor linux, but my work requires typing and editing documents on-the-go a lot. Anyone shares any opinions?
Thanks and best regs,

Moved to general as not android development

I have found this same problem on ARCHOS 101 Android 2.x.x. Bluetooth Mouse or USB Mouse could not use single click. Someone told me this problem relate to Android OS not ARCHOS device. But on my 7" Chiness Tablet Android 1.6 no problem with Mouse.
I don't know to to fix this bug on ARCHOS device.

Bluetooth Keyboard and Mouse

Greetings everyone,
I have been able to hook up a Bluetooth Keyboard and Mouse to my EVO 3D.
The keyboard works great. I have been able to type perfectly in my applications as well as configure the keyboard to work in my emulators.
The mouse I am having an issue with the "right" mouse button not working as the "go back" function in Android. Has anyone else had this issue? According to all the research I have done this is supposed to work.
I have also noticed in the CyanogenMod 6.X ROM videos on Youtube, that the people using a mouse also get a mouse cursor on their screens as well as being able to right click to "go back" and then using their middle mouse button as a "home" function in android. I did a search through 16 pages of posts on this and could not find an answer. Maybe someone reading this who is smarter than I am can shed some light on the issue.
This is what I am currently using.
Mouse: Microsoft Bluetooth Notebook Mouse 5000
Keyboard: Logitech MX5500 Keyboard.
If anyone else is using a mouse and is not having issues could you tell me the brand/model please? Maybe it is just an issue with this Microsoft Mouse.
Well it looks like the fancy mouse support with a cursor and button functionality was something that was included in CyanogenMod 6.X then removed on CyanogenMod 7.
They then added a patch for version 7. But now apparently it is being included in his latest CyanogenMod.
Regardless, it appears you need root access
**taps desk until HTC removed encryption from bootloader**
Yeah, but on the bright side, this is the first time I've seen HTC add in HID support for BT keyboards!!!!!!
HUGE gain!

[Q] Apple Bluetooth Keyboard

I have a aluminium apple bluetooth keyboard. When I connect it to my tablet I put in the passcode to pair it and then check the box to use it as an input device, but when I go to type anywhere it doesn't do anything and the touchscreen keyboard comes up. I have tried the tablet with a wired keyboard, which works fine.
Thats odd. Ive paired mine as you and when i press any key the internal keyboard goes off. Are you sure you have set it up as the default keyboard?
How do I do this? In language and input I can only choose standard keyboard as the default.
YOU must type the correct Numbercode and hit the Enter Button on the Keyboard. This works i hope

I have an Apple Bluetooth Keyboard and want to use it with my Xperia Tablet S 32gb,
I input the 4 digit code and it pairs, but it doesn't input anything. Strangely, it works on my Xperia S mobile phone!
I posted here about it! http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1908522
If you have any ideas, please can you post for me?

Hey there, I do believe this comes down to incompatibilities with the version of bluetooth supported. Eg my my bluetooth mouse works on my laptop and galaxy s 2, but not my tablet s. My bluetooth key board which I know to be bluetooth 2.0 works fine on all. No idea what the mouse is, it was just a cheapo one with limited specs available. Wroks great on compatible devices though
Hi DreadPirateDan!
thanks for your reply,

I understand a bit about Bluetooth Human Interface Device Profile (HID) and wonder if some genius has worked out a way to get these to work together..
But guess I will have to give up! I have the case with keyboard for the Xperia Tablet S but the viewing angle is not good for me. Maybe I will find a cheap Bluetooth keyboard.
The Sony one - http://www.sony.co.uk/product/other-sony-tablet-accessories/sgp-wkb1 is a bit too pricey!

The Tablet S doesn't support Apple Bluetooth keyboard is because the kernel excluded module hid-apple. You can root your tablet to support it.
Sent from my LT26i using xda premium
Thanks WonderEkin!

I not sure whether to root yet. Only experience is with my Samsung 7" tablet, and that must be 2 years ago now...
Then I am not sure how to add the correct Bluetooth profile!
Lots of reading and research to do!

[Q] Android confuses Bluetooth gamepad/controller for mouse - Help

I have a Lenovo IdeaTab S6000 and I recently purchased the Red Samurai/GameStop V2 branded Bluetooth controller and I'm finding that when I connect the controller, a mouse cursor appears on screen that can be semi-controlled via the analog sticks. This essentially causes none of the compatible games for the controller to improperly function. Within my tablets setting menu is an option to change a mouse's cursor speed (something not present on my HTC One, which the controller works perfectly on) and I was wondering if this option could be a factor in the overall problem and if disabling this option is possible. I have spent the past two days trying to remedie this problem and have had no luck so any kind of support would be greatly appreciated.
Also, this being my first post, I apologize in advance if this was posted in the wrong area.

Necroposting, but I figured I'd add to the conversation:
The only gamepad that I've gotten to work with this device (as a gamepad) is the Moga Hero. Connecting was always finicky at best and would require a full reboot, and immediately connect when it powers up. Otherwise it wouldn't pair at all.
I've tried the Red Samurai v2, the Nyko Playpad, and most recently the Mad Catz C.T.R.L.R. Invariably, the mouse mode works and works very well, but the gamepad mode always does what was written above.
In trying the xbox 360 gamepad, it blinks but doesn't connect.
As a lark, I purchased a Asus MeMo 7" HD tablet which has the same MediaTek chipset (8125) and the same exact problem exists with that device too (mouse mode works, no gamepad). Both the Memo and the Lenovo tabs are on the same version of Android (4.2.2) and the same kernel (3.4.5) on the stock rom. I assume it's Mediatek's fault, in which case HID gamepads are a no go on these devices.
Unless someone has other information, which would be much appreciated.
Oh, wanted to add something: when the C.T.R.L.R. connects in gamepad mode, you get only a cursor. When I connect my bluetooth keyboard, the multimedia controls start working. Not sure why that is.

Ubuntu Touch: bluetooth mouse & keyboard compatibility list

Hi guys,
I'm testing Ubuntu Touch on a Nexus 4.
I think a bluetooth mouse and keyboard are necessary to get a full advantage from Ubuntu Converngence.
So, please help to build a list of working / not working accessories.
Compatibile accessories:
- No feedback at the moment.
Not compatible accessories:
- Microsoft Designer Mouse - OTA 10 (thank to me)
Thanks guys, hope you will help US!

The Designer Mouse can be paired, but it requires some commands in bluetoothctl and doesn't always create the virtual hci ports for the mouse to send events to. It also doesn't help that the mouse seems to change it's BT MAC every single time it starts up for some reason. Scanning for it in bluetoothctl while just turning it on and off shows that it seems to send a new MAC to clients, not sure why.

How to use an USB OTG Keyboard as a Touch Input for Android?

Hello everyone.
Maybe my question is little bit weird but can you use a keyboard on an Android as a touch input like many Android Emulators on PC did?
Is there any possible way?
Thanks
