Ok so like some I jumped from the free beta to the CM rom, but I noticed when restoring data from the free beta my battery didn't last more than 4 hours, n yes anything to improve the battery I was doing, even when it was sleeping, I re-installed the rom and put EVERYTHING BACK through titanium backup and now I've lasted 7 hours... so this is just a warning, but if someone knows why when restoring data it effs with the battery please share

ive noticed the same when restoring SE 2.1 from 2.2 Froyo, my battery was warm and depleting quickly, battery meter was very very inaccurate
Hi,
I do not use xrecovery/data restore, only when i am testing things and i am in a hurry, my phone always works best and always has done on fresh app installs and apps i have on my sdcard.
Some tips
well I migrated from 2.1 stock to Zs 2.2 beta 1, 2, 3 and 4 and from there to CM 6.1.1 and never restored from Xrecovery. and my battery works fine and didnt noticeed any adverse difference from 2.2 to cm mod but its getting better and very happy with my X10`s current condition.
I used Titanium paid version and below are my dos and donts.....
before I mess with anything I do a nandroid back up and complete titanium backup (do a forced-redo to update existing backups)
every time I change roms I do Wipe Cache Partition and Wipe Dalvik Cache and Battery Stats
My contacts are sync to gmail so I dont need to worry about migrating one to another
Sms, Call log can restore via titanium called "SMS/MMS/APN dialer Storage......."
Never restore phone system settings, Insted I go and configure manually.
All the standard applications I restore data and App both so i can run all those apps witout any lost of data.
Use ADW or launcher pro home insted of Default launcher
Dont like default keyboard using smartkeyboard
Freeze unnecessary application such as launcher, google search, android keyboard, Facebook, twiter, news depend on your usage, but dont do for system core apps.
Using ATK to kill apps on switch off for all the junks staring when phone is dile. this is to kill all general apps
disable automatic clock time update and set the time manual.
disable mylocation /use of wireless network to fix your location. because google is using your phone to collect data when phone is idle (da... .)
If you customizing/ modding system apks like framewrok-res.apk, contacts.apk, phone.apk ; make sure you use zipalign command to optimize the application before putting it back to phone.
good luck..........

Battery drain + FC = annoying. :O
Best way is this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=11394960&postcount=716
It installs like you would install all manually and its done in 3-4 Minutes and you dont need to do anything!
except that does not save app data.. so lets say that one played angry birds and passed 200 levels, so what now start over?

I posted this in a thread in the Themes section, but didn't get any bite, so I thought I would move it here.
Forgive me as I am new to all of this. I am running BAMF Remix 1.6.3. I have Titanium Backup Pro. I have been following this thread for sometime now and like the different options people have on their phones. After I put a lot of work into customizing my home/lock screen using the widget app's, launcher app's, etc...If I were to flash to a new ROM or flash BAMF 2.x, is there a way via Titanium Pro (something else) to get those same home/lock screens back quickly?
After my other flashes, I have used TB to restore my app & app data, but have been nervous about restoring system data, etc. b/c I don't know if I am restoring something old over something new.
Any help on this?
try it, just back up your rom in recovery first in case it doesn't work
usually a bad idea to restore system data. youre not really going to be able to instantly restore your homescreen widgets, etc. when you create a widget its creates a sort of unique ID for that widget. when you wipe and flash a new ROM, that ID doesnt exist, so the widgets are gone. and even in launcherpro when you restore your home screen, all the widgets just show "error loading." so unless someone else has found a solution, (ive never heard of one) you pretty much just have to bite the bullet and manually recreate all of your widgets whenever you wipe.
Im glad this topic was raised and I can live with re-adding widgets BUT
what I hate is having to log back into EVERY SINGLE app, Facebook, Pandora, Groupon etc etc
How can I safely get all that data back after flashing a new rom? I do have titanium pro, but the one time I used it, it was a nightmare restored crap that wasn't included in the ROM like the WidgetPicker app and caused all kinds of problems
You can load App+Data or Data for the apps from TB

Yea just use the batch restore apps + Data. But don't do system data, that never works good.
I back up HTC Sense Home each time and my home screens come out just like I left it, but you do have to re-add Widgets.
Can't remember exact name but it's there in Titanium.

For further education: restoring apps + data restores the applications and settings from apps that you have installed from the market, Amazon, etc. The data & settings are not ROM specific, so they restore well.
Restoring system data has you restoring ROM-related data & settings. Often things are different from ROM to ROM, so trying to restore from 1 to another causes problems. The only system setting I have ever restored was the data for "Bluetooth Pairings", which seemed to work o.k., but since pairing is simple enough, I don't do that either.
Either way, most times that you switch ROMs you will have to redo widgets, even from something like Beautiful Widgets or Widget Locker. Even though you back up those apps & their data, the widgets hook into the ROMs at the system level enough that they don't survive a restore anyway.

That is true for Android widgets with launcher pro, but you can successfully restore any of the launcher pro widgets you use with no problems.
I am running:
Android 2.2.1
Baseband 1.16.00.0223r
Kernel 2.6.32.21 bamf 4.42-g64d4fb1-dirty by adrynalyne
Build 1.13.605.7_Das_BAMF_1.5-remix
Software 1.13.605.7
I would like to upgrade to either 1.7 or 1.8 Das Bamf. Unsure as to which radio or kernel to upgrade if any. Definitely looking for battery life and few bugs.
The original rooting was done over a month ago and I was blown away by the complexity and never understood the process.
Today I am more knowledgeable but still uncomfortable doing my first upgrade by myself (hence why I am still running 1.5).
I have already done the Rom Manager Manual Backup. Also ran Titanium Backup Pro (but not sure the settings/preferences on my program were correct).
Would somebody be willing to talk me through it?
If so, please email me at [email protected]. I will then gladly give out my phone # or call you.
Thanks in advance for your assistance/consideration...
Anthony
To be honest the hard part is already done the radio you're on will work fine and the kernel will flash with the new rom. Once you load the rom on your sd card you can install it via rom manager and choose to wipe data and cache.

The reason I am terrified of screwing it up is because I have so many apps installed.
I would prefer not to lose everything and start over if at all possible.
The other reason is that I am not sure that my setting on TB Pro are correct.
So, for the 10-15 minutes at most, I would prefer a little hand holding vs the hours and hours of starting from scratch.
Think of it as riding a bicycle. I am about to remove my training wheels after one more ride with help...

Hey man, I haven't had any problems restoring using Titanium Pro...
Open the app, go to Backup/Restore
Hit your menu button and select "Batch"
Then I just select "Run" for "Backup all user apps + system data"
Then when you flash new rom you can just do a batch restore
This has worked for me and saved all my progress and settings, but I am not an expert and thus cannot guarantee success but I can confirm this has worked for me.
If titanium has backed it up its safe.

You may loose your angry birds lvls and the like

I have been flashing so much roms and reading thread after thread. It seems it is sugested not to use rom manager to install the new rom but boot in recovery instead. As far as doing a batch restore in titanium.. do not restore system apps only your program apps. If u restore system apps it will screw up ur newly installed rom. And restoring apps. Through TB will sometimes not install saved data. Ex. Game lvls, passwords, etc..u will also lose all sms and contacts.. try my backup pro for apps and SMS. Make sure contacts is backed up with your Google account. Some devs also recommended app monster in the market to back up apps. I use TB basically to freeze apps

flash about a week ago and now overnite battery is just about dead if not plugged in also any stand by time outside of what seems like 20 min tablet goes completely to sleep and have to boot up did not have this issue with vegantab 7.0.0 any why to fix battery and complete shut down
Use Titanium backup or SystemAppRemover to yank out system apps that you don't use. Like voice dialer, MMS, phone, dialer. These can all be removed without harm. If you done use Skype or Google voice then these system apps are just burning your battery.
Here is the link to cyanogens barebones list. It tells you what you can safely get rid of if you don't use it. Also tells you how to uninstall them using terminal if you don't have TB or SAR.

Hello my fellow addicts. I am having a problem now with the new market. Whenever I flash a new rom I do the wipe data, cache, dalvik...etc in CW. I restore my apps via TB pro or myapp pro. I tried restoring only apps and then i tried restoring apps+data. Not system data. My problem is once I restored all my apps, I cant load an app. All that happens is the icon flashes and nothing loads. It doesnt happen with all the apps. It happens randomly with different apps. In addition, some my widgets dont load. They just constantly show that they are loading. I tried multiple reboots, battery pull and I tried reflashing the rom multiple times in case i had a bad install. Still no luck. Others here told me to fix permissions in CW and wipe dalvik. Still no luck. I finally decided to download each app one by one from market. I was then able to load my apps. It sucks to download each app after I flash a rom. Any suggestions of what to do
It sounds like there is a compatibility issue with the app you are using. I tend to use Titanium backup Pro and it works wonders. Yeah it takes a bit of time, but everything worth having takes time.

Its not just one app. Its different apps. Sometimes system apps wont load like maps or camera. Even system widgets like the htc weather clock. If i try to install an app from the market, it'll give me an error and it wont let me. Only way to run the rom, I would have to download one app at a time which sucks and too much time consuming.
Hello!
I have seen a couple of threads about people wondering about services and bloatware! Im running nova launcher with Flex 1.5 rom and I delete these apk files...
I clean install roms with TWRP
I let it rest for 10 minutes before I do all my settings
I stop the services I do not use (those that can be stopped with APPS options)
I install Nova launcher and needed apps I am about to uninstall
I install Titanium Backup
I restart into TWRP and delete cache and dalvik
I restart rom and do the rest
On other roms than Flex I uninstall more apks than the screenshots in this thread shows, but ALWAYS remember that maybe you use some of the things I choose to uninstall..
I also you own icons in nova launcher....
I use my mobile as a mobile! I have many apps installed but I am never in a personal network or sync with enterprise etc...
So here goes the screenshots, the things I use is working fine and I have insane battery life, if I charge my phone to 100% it lasts for almost a day before going to 99%... But it goes faster down when I reach 99% than from 100% to 99%...
I also use Greenify, combined with Clean Master...
I use xposed framework with some of the LG G2 settings
I also use Bootmanager
And please, no comments about my smartphone not beeing smart anymore, beacuse I can do everything I want with this...
If someone can point me in a direction about making a bloatware install zip of apps, I will be more than happy!
Some pics of battery time
Here are som pics on battery time..
I send a lot of texts, receive a lot of emails with Outlook.com, a lot of snapchats, some Facebook and Instagram a alot of short calls. Yes and some spotify..
