[REQ] [Theme] [PORT] Rain Theme for Axura 2.3.1.0 - Vibrant Themes and Apps

Saw this theme poking about the Developers forum, and was wondering what all would need to be done to port this over to Bionix 1.2
If someone with dev experience could tell me pretty much what it would entail code-wise, i could give it a fair shot myself...
http://devsforandroid.com/ip.board/index.php?/topic/50-theme-axura-rain-2310/

why not try out axura 2.3.1 and the theme you may like it.

It just may happen

If push comes to shove, I may just give it a shot... I have become a fan of Bionix, and have grown weary of all the wiping and re-flashing...

how/where do you install it?

bump if i may.

It is highly unlikely you are going to get one the Axura themers such as my self Annex or Sharpie to port this over for you as none of us use bionix. Now provided the framework files are similar you could port it yourself. The framework files should be in the same directory but you will have to create an appropriate directory with in the flashable zip for data as i'm sure bionix and Axura use different app directories. Once you have that squared away you should be fine in porting over Bionix, that said ask the original creators for permission to do so first as it is always a good practice.

This is something that i would be willing to try myself, as im curious about it, but i have zero experience with code, and would definitely screw something up. is there a guide somewhere that would help point me in the right direction?

There is actually no code involved unless you go in and start modifying the xml scripts and java scripts with in the framework files if you want I could attempt it for you but cannot gaurantee that it would work as the theme was built from the ground up, you can give me the file dir for where your apps apk files go I could try to make one for you. But I have to reiterate that there is 0 gaurantee that this would work as the theme was built from the ground up for axura.

Looks great man. Is there anyway you can put those files into zip format so we could download this straight to the phone and open it that way. I ask because I have limited access to a computer. Great work none the less!
the vibrant's Framework is set up way different than the i9000 or the captivate... If you would like I could port this over for you, seeing as I have a vibrant to test it on...
Does anyone know if this works on eugenes hybrid rom?????

[Q] T-Mobile Vibrant Avatar And Sims 3

I recently switched roms and lost the Avatar launcher and the Sims 3.apk.
I know you can open Avatar through the gallery but that's not as good for showing off.
Can anyone send me a link to download them, or maybe rip them off your device?.
I really miss them.
There are many ways to solve this.
First, is search the forum.
Second, know something about his, download a stock rom and pull it for yourself.

I am having a similar problem trying to install Avatar. I am running Bionix Final - Sims 3 installs fine, Avatar is a no go. I tried to copy it into /system/app using Root Manager - rebooted and it still does not appear... any ideas?
I don't really know, I'm still a noobie to this android stuff. I just pushed it into system/app/ using ADB, and it worked for me. I'm using fusion 1.1.

Is that Bionix a Froyo build?
I've posted a modified Avatar.apk that looks for the movie in the proper location on Froyo ROMs. It's tested on Onyx ROM, but should work on any Froyo ROM. It's here if anyone still looking for a workaround about this and the apks posted above don't work for you.
On avatar it says application not installed...? Also when I download it where does it download the file?
Sent from my SGH-T959 using XDA App
I get a file not found when launching the avatar apk. I'm running macnut12. Hmmm, maybe I deleted the movie in the internal sd by mistake. Reverting back from a stock froyo (e.g. Eugene's unofficial froyo) through Odin should fix this issue. Am I correct?

Is that directed at me? Do you mean on your phone? Downloads from the web should end up in a folder called Downloads on the internal sdcard. From there copy with root explorer or adb to the proper location (/system/app)
Sims 3
When I had this issue I had lost the entire Sims 3 game and not just the launcher. The second post only includes the launcher apk, so I will attach both. I am only reattaching the launcher just in case the one posted somehow does not work with the launcher posted prior.
FYI - I pulled these from my stock dump I made before I loaded my first custom ROM, and from what I have heard they will work ONLY on the T-Mobile Samsung Vibrant SGH-T959 and nothing else.
It may not matter, but I think it is best to install them in order. Also since the max upload on apk (for me at least) is 8Mb and the game is 74Mb I am putting them into an archive first and doing an external link, so you will need 7zip or something similar.

These are standard APK files. Basically they are Android installer packages. What to do with them or how to install them are basic aspects of using Android. If you plan on using an Android device as anything beyond a basic consumer device you should take the time to understand these basics because putting them here is beyond the scope of this thread.
This should help.

So do you have a T-mobile Vibrant SGH-T959? It absolutely will not work if you don't.
Did you install both APK files in the correct order for Sims 3?
Are you using a custom ROM? It may not work in all ROMs. If you are using a AOSPish ROM like Macnut I don't know if it will work, because AOSP is built from the (Android Open Source Project) and not from Samsung/T-mobile firmware.
I have only tested this to work on Bionix and Auxra ROMs myself.
I have a samsung vibrant... I am using android 2.2 i have no custom rom installed.. do i need to rename it are something. what is the order of the sims 3 apk. can u list a step by step instruction list on how to do this..

Something is wrong with your statement. Maybe I should have been more explicit in my questions. This only works for US T-mobile Vibrants. It is an exclusive item that was (non-exclusive version now available in the market for $4.99 http://www.appbrain.com/app/the-sims™-3/com.eamobile.sims3_na_qwf) only available on US T-mobile Vibrants. This package only restores Avatar and Sims 3 for those who lost it, it does not provide it to those that should not have it.
Here are the problems with your statement:
You can not be using a stock firmware and also be using 2.2. Sorry you have to pick one as T-mobile has not pushed a OTA 2.2 out yet. This is not for Bell customers or other non United States phones.
There is no reason for you to have lost these packages if you are not running a custom ROM as they are not uninstallable.
So as you can see, there is something very fishy with your story. If you are just confused and not lying about your situation then you are running a custom ROM or you would not have lost these. In this case try re-downloading the files, use the link in my first post (Post #13) and you would have to be really confused to not figure out the order to install because they are numbered. If it can not parse these then either your download is corrupt, you are missing one of the two installs, or phone is not a United States SGS-T959.

i agree, all the themes here right now are pretty much just different colors, nothing this in depth
this one is nice!!!! why Vibrant is so boring?
Just flash to one of the 2.2.1 JS ROMS such as Loki, Teleforce, Sweet Honey 2.5, Juwe's, Atriarc (my personal fav).
Then download the theme from the i9000 forum, open the zip, remove the services.jar, resign the zip and flash thru CWM and viola.

I may be wrong and someone please correct me if I am but I don't think you can just open the zip and remove the services.jar? I believe you need to download 7zip or a similar program and do it from there.
If someone can tell me how to attach the zip after I remove the services.jar I will upload it for anyone that wants it. When posting here on XDA zip files can be no bigger than 8.0mb, this zip is 42.6mb. Probably a little smaller once services.jar is removed.

I removed the services.jar but I am not at all familiar with Autosign. I did just download it to check it out but I have no clue of what to do next? I read a little on it and it's way over my head. I was able to take another theme I liked and get running fine on my phone but when it comes to getting these themes back up here on XDA for others I'm not sure how to do it.

run autosign.bat.
Then:
select option 1, type yes, hit enter (if FC thats ok)
select option 2, type yes, hit enter
select option 3, type yest, hit enter
select option 4, type in path of zip file that needs to be signed, hit enter.
When done, then the zip is now signed and can be installed thru CWM
As far as posting theme on here, you need to upload the theme to website like www.multiupload.com. Then once its uploaded paste the link on here
I meant to have it ported to vibrant 2.2 roms like Bionix 1.3.1 or others.

A little more information might help someone to help you.. What did you do to apply the theme? Did you get any errors? I'm getting the impression from your post that you flashed the theme.. that's how it's worded anyway.. If I'm not mistaken the Monster Energy theme is a MetaMorph theme and not a flashable theme. You would need to download MetaMorph from the Market to apply it.

[Q] Replacing FRX07 system.ext2 with Sense .ext2 and booting

Basically what I want to do is take the FRX07 bundle.zip and simply replace that system.ext2 with the one from this build (That's a direct link to the .rar file, btw).
The Sense build comes in system.sqsh form and I have already managed to convert that into a working system.ext2.
My dilemma comes in here.. I need help determining which files I need to replace/modify in the initrd.gz/rootfs/system folder/etc. in order to boot this build with the most current features of FRX07 (rootfs and whatnot).
I have some experience with modifying initrd.gz and rootfs images, but I'm still extremely noobish in the sense that I don't know exactly which coding I must change to get the desired effect.
I appreciate any helpful insight in advance!
EDIT: Also, it would be VERY helpful if someone could explain the functions and purposes of the rootfs.img, initrd.gz, and kernel. I have my speculations and assumptions, of course, but knowing for sure gets me a step closer to what I want. again, thanks in advance!!

90% of the work that went into FRX07 is in system.ext2, not anywhere else. Plus the rootfs itself is designed specifically to work with the system.ext2 from FRX07. That's not to say that it's impossible to modify it, but no forum thread will ever tell you all the changes you'd need to make to get that up and running.

Ohh I see, about the rootfs and the system.ext2. But that's not to say that the work that went into the FRX07 system.ext2 wouldn't be useful for another .ext2
I know the basics of modifying the system and rootfs and I have a general idea of what needs to be done, so all I'm looking for is sorta a nudge in the right direction. I'm not expecting a to-do list, but a little goes a long way.
Plus, I doubt Google would have anything useful on this topic, especially in reference to the Tilt2. Hence, this thread lol.

I noticed his skills in butchering.
what base are you using for the sense build? I have a successful build booting. The problem I have is with the sqsh file. If I unsquash it and try to rebuild it I get an error on boot. How did you convert it over? And do you have a working radio?
Never mind. I got it from the first post. That one is really slow port of Hero build. I have one that is a direct port and a lot smoother with the exception of the radio not working. But I am using completely updated rootfs, kernel, and initrd. The ones from xdandroid work just fine. But I use these kernels. I dunno if they are different from the ones directly from xdandroid site.
