No its not an issue it is obvious that if u run heavy games, battery consumption will be more and temp will automatically increase.

This is happening to me also, and it's not just a heavy load issue. I don't have this problem with stock rom. I also use FreeX10 beta4. I monitored cpu usage and there didn't seem anything unusual, however monitoring the mv of the battery is noticed it will sometimes be around 4153mv while othertimes 31200mv not sure what's causing the higher mv's though

Battery drains faster than ever & takes like forever to charge up

Hi All,
i am using a non rooted SGS2 in india. its running on the latest android firmware 2.3.6 (waiting for ICS.. )
the problem i am facing is that from past few days i see my battery drains very very quickly.. even if there is nothing running in background. i am using juice defender ultimate.. i guess its not helping either..
also it takes like forever to charge up.. i mean i plug my phone for charging at 17% after 2 hours it just reached to 21%..
at times while charging it through the USB.. it seems to be discharging.. it was at 37% after some time its reduced to 29%..
Also my phone heats up a lot for unnecessary reasons..
has any one faced this issue? please help...

first of all what programs run in background of your device?
second, what battery you use ? (1650 mAh 2000 mAh)
have you looked at your battery if the battery is working 100% or if the battery is damaged?
what rom is running on your device, which kernel do you use?
Could happen from rom. Here in germany the official 2.3.6 update was cancelled because of problems containing battery drain und reboots. Perhaps same stock rom problems in development.

i think your battery is gone. Maybe try charging it with the phone off or something. and if it it goes to 100% u can try download the battery calibration app on market to calibrate it properly. I would try everything i can before sending it back to samsung.
sounds like hardware problem mate, the phone should warm up when plugged but it shouldn't be above 35°C or so, and the slow charge problem could be related
if you can get another battery to test it out, or just buy a new one
good luck
You could try to reset your battery stats before going out buying a new battery.
thanks guys for your suggestions..
i uninstalled some of the crappy apps that i never used.. & voila my phone is back to normal .. less heat up.. battery lasts for 1 day.. hope it stays that way..
waiting for ICS..
@jeroensk - how can reset my battery stats..?
Clear battery stats boot to cwm recovery >> advanced wipe battery stats
But you will need a cwm and rooted phone ..
As battery stats do not need wiping dont worry about it battery automatically calibrates itself .
Some muppets think wiping battery stats actual does something . |It does not play any part in charging the battery or battery life on SGS2 .

[Q] Charging Problem X10

If I keep my phone on charging even after its on 100%, it starts rolling back. As in from 100 to 99 then 98, even if its pluggen in.
Don't know what kind of a problem this is, hardware or software.
Or there's some issue with the battery.
Please help.

Sometimes I have the same problem. I dont know if it is caused of a program running in a background or what, but reboot helps

I know the reboot helps.
But usually I put it on charging at night before sleeping.
And when I wake up in the morning, the battery % becomes even less than what it was when i plugged it in.
I'm usually in a hurry then to leave for college in the morning . Can't go to college with battery % less than even 10
Thanks for the reply anyway !

Maybe You have some program that syncs something all the time. Did You try to turn off data and wifi. You can always check it if the reason is the hardware or Software. Just make a backup of Your whole ROM, delete the data and leave the phone over night. I hope it is only software problem.
EDIT: Does Your battery go hot while charging? Oh, and try to wipe battery stats

Maybe there is really some program that is causing that. I had this problem rarely so I never cared. I had one program called Batterymonitor or sth. like that and it was the reason. Do You have such a program, that shows Your battery level or temperature?

The x10 charges the battery to full then if still plugged in it will stop charging until batt drains to set level ,then will charge to full again and over and over all night. X10 wont over charge batt when left plugged in. Kernel/bootloader handle this. There is an app current widget that can log charge levels.
EDIT: I had a tip on charging here but removed it after further research read more about batt here..

EDIT: the best tip I usr for battery life is, let batt runout until phone shuts off, then pull batt, then plug in charger, then replace batt into phone, then phone will boot, enter xrecovery on first boot and wipe batt stats. After wipe while still in xrec pull batt then unplug. Now plug in phone then insert batt. Phone should boot in charge mode( big batt icon only on screen) dont start phone untill light green for 1-2 hours to get full charge . I do this about once a month, when phone starts to shut off around 15%

As mentioned above as well, this is normal. After charging to 100%, the phone stops battery charging, and will activate charging again only when battery falls a bit (say 97%). Also, battery heating while on charging (and also when using the phone continuously while playing a game) is normal. Relax.. your phone is fine
@ToledoJab
I am having the same issue with battery... phone switching off at 15%, even at 22-23%, when playing a game or something. But switching it back on, and leaving it idle, phone might run for another 2 hours. So it is the extra load while running a game that the phone cant take any longer (i remember getting the 15%,10% and 5% reminders earlier while playing games)...? Does the battery calibrate method actually help in your case? does it go all the way down to 0% or 1% before shutting down.. ?
I just did this after posting that. And yes my phone reported warnings @ 25% 15 10 5 and then shutdown @ 1%.
This way is like reconditioning an old rechargeable ni-cad batt.
All this does is completey drain batt then, with least amount of drainage (phone on, apps& radios running) allows battery to full charge.
There is also a way called recalibrate battery. But this way over charges the batt.
EDIT: I think the phone load will effect reported batt left. I think batt gage use average loads to estimate remaining power. Meaning games, full brightness of LCD, radios -3g -GPS -WiFi -Bluetooth will use more than avg power
edit 2: I found this thread also has some very good points and links. after reading this i will not intentionally take my batt to 0%. I hit 0% about 1-2 times a month on accident as it is. i will just make sure when i do go 0% to wipe stats (dont know if it helps or not) then preform a long (overnight) full charge with phone off.

Battery and charge Help

Hi guys.
Today, while I was playing with NOVA 3 and charging my phone, I notice that the battery of the S2 had been uncharged a little. This is a little weird because my phone was in charge. I know that games (NOVA 3 specially) are big battery eaters but I've never had a phone that discharges it battery if connected, neither sleeping or awake. Battery Widget says, with phone unplugged, that NOVA eats over 800 mA while playing. Is this nor.al? Anyone can play that game while charging and check if happen the same as me?
Any help will be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

So I need to reset fuel gauge? Or you may want to sat that altough phone marks that battery level, phone is actually charging. ?
Thanks !
PD: I use Official Extended Battery.
If it suddenly drops from 60 % to 5 %, worry.
If it goes up on it's own, don't.
It's up to you, fuel gauge can be fixed. Read about it, It's here in xda somewhere.
Mine goes up 2, 3, 5 % when I unplug it sometimes, so I think of it as a wireless charger

Not just that. But yes, it doesn't drop from 60 to 5, but goes up. However, that's not the problem. The problem is that when I'm playing phone demands more energy than provided by the charger, so battery goes down instead going up. I've never had a phone that do this way, playing games with the carger or not. This has made me think that could be a problem with the charge port or something like that so in order to discard this hipothesis I attach you my last charge history of tonight. I hope it's normal.
It seems like charge is irregular. At the first percents, battery grows slowly but in the middle of the capacity (~50%), charge rate is around 800 (while in theory our charger gives a max of 650 mA). That could be the answer. But I'd want to know if my charging is normal.
Thanks.
Nasty.
When batt gets to 100 % remove it and let it sit for a 3 min, then put it back.
There's a lot of battery threads here in Q&A.
Try searching key words like "charging" "volting","fuel gauge", "battery drop", "power drop" and so on.
Betterbatterystats is also a good app to see what's going on with your battery. Highly recommended.
What ROM are you on again? If stock, you can always flash a custom kernel, improves the battery life significantly.

I'm on Stock 4.0.4 with Apollo kernel. Battery is not bad for me I think but the problems it has, like:
-With stock 1650 mAh battery: sometimes I got freezes while i'm playing and when I reboot the phone, battery has dropped from 60 % to 12 %. But if I leave my phone on idle, battery recharges itself. WEIRD.
-With both 1650 and 2000 mAh, if I play intensive games while phone is charging, battery doesn't load. Istead, battery drops 1 % per 10 minutes approximately. WEIRD.
Anyway, thanks for your answer. I will try better battery stats and read anything else in forum.

As you are saying that your mobile seems "hot"
First you need to confirm that its charger/device issue or only with battery.
First do battery calibration with this method: (In this method you need custom recovery for your device
This may help you

Dont forget to thank him there on his thread.
IMPORTANT: You can skip this step>> "Wait 20 min after you are sure it is 100% (phone should stay plugged in)" - As i dont know much about LG devices and their batteries
Now some advice from me-
If you can cover it >>> Never charge battery again and again before 15 or 20%
Always charge your battery to 100% at once and use your device till 15% or less than 15% and then again charge it full and so on...
This will make your battery backup good as well for battery life

According to the Battery Doctor app, you shouldn't leave your phone on charge for more than 9-10 hours(MAX), otherwise it WILL harm your battery.
You should try hibernating some of those apps with Greenify.

Use better battery stat (check play store) or similar app to track draining application.

[Q] Battery Issue on Lollipop Roms

Hii everyone
I've got some really weird Battery Issues on different Lollipop Roms (CM12, ResurrectionRemix 5.3.5-5.3.7, Beanstalk and SlimLP).
The problem is, as soon as i restart the phone the battery percentage drops from 50% to 13% for no reason.
If i charge the phone later suddendly the loose percentage are back, but the phone consumption more "battery" so it's sooner at 0% as normal.
Does anybody else faceing this problem? Or whats the solution?
(Tried several times to calibrate the battery, and it's a new one ca. 6 months old)

I've had these problems when I first bought my phone used off eBay. Phone battery was very erratic. After a reboot battery would be less than half or nearly 0 even with 80%+ battery. Or would shut down with 5% left. Or drain battery a lot quicker than normal.
Soon as I bought a new battery my problems vanished. My battery would stay solid no matter how many times I flashed a new ROM or rebooted. BUT after 3 months these drops have started to happen again with reboots. Not always like before, but they're happening.
I think it's down to battery conditioning. The way you charge and discharge your battery. There are set ways to charge a phone to maintain battery health.
How does your battery react without rebooting from a full change to shut down? You shouldn't need to reboot a phone with a good stable ROM once you've set it up the way you like it. Also calibrating you battery or wiping your fuel gauge meter to often isn't good practice as android and your phone will do calibrating itself after some time and needs the information that these starts provide.
Battery jumps seem to happen with a lot of S2 users. Maybe a flaw in the design of phone. But good battery practices are important, things like not leaving your phone charging overnight. Batteries don't like being left on charge when they are full. There's more info out there on XDA that I can't remember myself as I am guilty of bad battery practices as I use my phone all the time and don't have time to full charge cycle.
Yes same problem
Battery drains really fast when restarting
Any fix for this?
I am hiving battery problems too. Battery is dropping % like it leaking or sth. Last time my phone rebooted due to full ram and it dropped from 50% to 12%. I left it like that. After some time battery re-charged itself from 12 to 23 % ! Phone was lying on the sofa without connected charger ! Should i clen fuel guage chip or my battery is EOL ?

Forgot to say, if you want to avoid battery drops when rebooting make sure you plug your phone into charge before rebooting. Thus should stop battery dropping afterwards.

The battery often drops when the phone hangs at work and reboot from itself so i have no chance to plug it in.
I have same problem, battery drain too fast & after reboot same time battery level is "falling" at one moment twice. At first, I think it's a battery problem, but battery work fine at CM12 mod, and have problem at SLIMLP 5.1.1 mod. When battery "falling" it's not heating, which means no real discharge.
