Follow that link to change your baseband and find xrecovery apk and install to your phone. And follow the rom instructions to download in your phone.
Sent from my X10i using XDA App

u can install xrecovery with flashtool .

Most important of all
read, read, read, read, read, read, read, read and then...
search, search, search, search, search, search, search
and you`ll find everything to your phone.
Instead of opening another redundant thread...

agree wit the one above me
pls do more readings n search around
i hav seen some idiots blamin ppl for brickin his own lil phone
cuz he didnt bother to do some readin

Flash 2.2.1
Install xrecovery.. (all in flashtool)
Go to 2.2.1 thread and install.
Also, do some reading beside opening a new thread

[Q] Installing Beta4 on Xperia x10

Hello everyone,
Today I have seen that there is a new Beta update at the Froyo rom.
Now I read "REQUIRES LATEST KERNEL AND BASEBAND 2.1.54 (shipped in stock 2.1.A.0.435 ROM)"
What I have to do now? Any explaination?
Flash, root & xrecovery instructions here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=936733
Then follow Beta4 instructions.
I have found that beta 4 is eating my battery though. 10% per hour. I was using a third of that with Beta 3.
I going back to Beta 3 now.
i dont think we can use the above mentioned link for baseband update, check the reply by the author when someone had problem installing the freex10 beta4 in the same thread on page 2

i wrote this so many times and you guys just don`t read, search, etc...
with this new FW you just CAN`T install anything through xRecovery! period.
so...if you want to install something, get rid of this FW install other, install xRecovery and voilá

Im pretty sure that was before the beta 4 came out. I think the correction is farther down...

2.1.54 is the latest baseband which comes with the 2.1.A.0.435 ROM (you even copied that on your first post ). Anyway, try reading this post by KULANV:

The steps he provided is easy to follow. I did mine the long way but that was before anyone posted the shorter way.
try this HOWTO, if you don't wanna mess something up!

Help about baseband

Hey i m new in xda.i want to try cm7 rom in my p500.i just want to know what is baseband n what is gsm.i m currently on rooted android 2.2.
Plz help me i don't know how to change baseband n why it is necessary.
Sent from my LG-P500 using Tapatalk
Here's a link to where you can read more about getting the new baseband:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1140862
BUT! for trying out CM7 on your phone you currently do NOT need the new baseband, although you might need it in the future.
All you need to do is install ROM Manager from the market > flash custom recovery from it > download the required files and follow the instructions available here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=946354
Hope that helps
What about gsm.what is gsm?
Sent from my LG-P500 using Tapatalk
GSM = Global System for Mobile Communications more or less your phone's ability to work as a phone/connect to your provider's network.
The tricky part with basebands and different ROMs is that once you flash the new baseband (update to official GingerBread), you will not have gsm/network if you go back to a ROM based on the old baseband. Up side is, Mik has taken care of it by coming out with a workaround, which you can find in the FAQ section in the CM7 link I posted earlier.
And btw, searching the forums is a good way to find a lot of useful info, don't get me wrong, I'm new here too, but all the answers I'm giving you, I've managed to find with the search options
Ok thanks dude this is very helpful

[Q] Performance Question

Hello,
I have an SE XPERIA X10i on 2.3.3, BB 2.1.71, Kernel 2.6.29, Build 3.01.G.0.75.
It's the stock ROM which I was able to load onto the phone with the 2.1.71 baseband along with Flashtool.
However, I'm a) getting bored of the stock rom, b) find the battery life not so great, c) believe the performance and responsiveness of screen gestures could be better.
I've been thinking of going to FreeX10 2.3 or CM7 2.3.
Now, I don't have xrecovery on the phone since I wiped it clean and bundle installed stock 2.3.3 with Flashtool. My next steps are:
1) How do I get xRecovery back on the phone since I can't root it as it's 2.3. I've read the documentation for Gingerbreak and it looks complicated.
2) What is the best/easiest way of loading a new ROM onto the phone? I imagine it's just to flash a custom zip thru xRecovery but since that's not on the phone anymore, I need to know how to get it back on there.
I'm sorry for the silly questions - I know this forum doesn't take kindly to the under-Android-educated but I do know a bit so far and I'm just looking for some help so constructive advice would be appreciated in advance I probably could figure out all these things on my own by googling but I don't have as much time as I'd like to devote to these priorities. Thanks for all your help in advance friends!
Here is a guide for all your questions http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=678513
U can use flash tools to install xrecovery.
And next time post in Q&A forum.
Sorry for not posting in the correct section... Since the question was related to ROMs I thought that perhaps it best belonged in this section.
So I can install xRecovery even though my device isn't rooted and is on 2.3.3 stock?

Yes with flashtool 0.4.2 you can.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1196808
I used this tutorial when i was on stock GB and decided to root, but once you do it, its the best thing to do for the phone.
i also recommend unlocking your bootloader
Read the tutorials in the stickies for noobs. Eveything you need to know is in there
Also, read the thread
"Read this before you post"
Then you will know that questions go in the question and answer section...

[Q] Gingerbread downgrade to froyo

Hi guys,
I need some help please.
Im currently running a
GB 2.3.3
Kernel version 2.6.35.10-perf+
V20g -
Im planning to downgrade it to froyo for the following reasons.
1. To easily root the phone
2. To easily get tun.ko for vpn use.to connect to the internet.
Thats all masters.
Do i need to downgrade or there's a way for those things without downgrading.
Thanks to all.
You need to go back to the old baseband look thru the forums

thanks a lot sir..
ill go for downgrading to froyo.
after i downgrade? i will downgrade also the baseband?
Id recommend using LG tools, kdz flasher I here has problems. Than again I've never used it so I can't tell you from experience but I can give you a place to start
Don't use xda's app search function, its useless instead use Google search queries
Go to android development, than to stickies.. the first post is what you need. Its a post by ciaox that night do you justice, also right underneath it is another post with alot of info but I believe its outdated
Also look for sweetnsour's post, I think its under general section stickies..

well, if you still got the warranty then contact lg service centre and tell them to downgrade from Gb to Froyo2.2.2
they may tell you that there is a slight chance of bricking but they will also tell you that not to update after downgrading
And Viola!!
You will get stock froyo on your phone without any hassle, all things working and no chance of bricking your phone by yourself and no baseband problem
Followed it and no problems till yet, currently on Mike's CM7 6.5.8
And to root, just use gingerbreak
2 methods to manually do it.
1. kdz (risky in my view as i briked my phone once with it) (search xda to follow)
2. lgmdp (i feel safe method) ( to flash froyo of your choice follow http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=19006040#post19006040
or
to flash indian froyo v10e 2.2.2 follow http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1324105)
and once u successfully flashed using any of the above method no need to flash baseband separately, it will be done by the tool while flashing process itself.
if you want to root stock rom 2.3.3 follow http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1200167
