There is a section on how to check if apps2sd is working correctly in BTDAG's guide linked in my signature. Bookmark it!
i already check it but however, my internal memory still decreases when apps are installed.. Does this mean that the app2sd does not work ?

no it doesn't. what does the apps2sd check say? i made it. it tells you the truth. if it tells it works, then it works.
it says /dara/app is a symlink..........ok
/darta.app-private is a symlink.........ok
apps2sd is working without dalvik-cache
What does it mean ??
it says its working but internal phone memory drops ??
dalvik-cache resides in the internal memory, and therefore takes up space on your phone.
if i ever get the guy that made people think apps2sd doesn't use any internal memory, i'll do really bad things to him...
so how do i move my dalvik-cache to my sd ?
you can edit the apps2sd script, or you can ask your rom dev to do it for you. or you can just live with the fact that dalvik-cache uses a little internal memory, it is not gonna eat up all of it. how much free space do you have left?
100mb left just for 20 apps installed
I followed your instructions and the script tells me apps2sd is not working. Can it be manually enabled? Im running Kimera 1.8 with a ext4 partition (I pm'd exit and he told me ext4 was supported)
Thanks
Hey friends.
I've installed obsidian v2 on my vibrant.
when connecting to the pc (ubuntu) I see that the internal storage is 2.4gb (supposed to be around 14gb.
where is all the free space?
as far as I know - there is no lagfix (I also checked this using the instructions in voodoo site)
thanks!
Edit:
I posted in the obsidian thread to find out if someone else is experiencing it.
I believe that it's some kind of a bug since the DF command gives me 13gb total (supposed to be 14gb if I'm not mistaken) while the file manager gives
2gb and summing up the files gives up 3gb (all though the sum of the files are in fact much more than 3gb)
Are you looking at the phone storage or SD card?
Phone storage of course.
SD card seems fine
btw - formatting it didn't help

Had the same. Flash sd fix from eugene odin rom thread
Yogurt is best served frozen, onyx frozen.
thanks dude!!!
works like a charm!
one more question (unrelated)
I've seen only ONE guy in the obsidian thread reporting a problem that the screen turn to greenish color when in a call. I experience it also and I recall that when i had an htc hero running froyo I had the exact same problem.
perhaps you'll know what to do...
thanks!

I didn't experience that, but I am running TW Onyx Froyo ROM.
so right now i have 2.2 official update
but before updating to 2.2
i did z4root with ryan's oclf lag fix
but one day i factory reset my phone
but i heard that i should remove the lag fix before doing factory reset
but i did not know that time
and now i have 2.2 and rooted my phone with super one click
and now i again got oclf and installed EXT2 TOOLS
and then oclf froze so
i had to re boot my vibrant
and then i opened oclf and one click lag fix is unavailable
i guess i did install ext2 tools because it;s showing unavailable
so then i tried to un intall ext2 tools and now
it failed saying that
remove ext2 tools failed with error: could not remove library libext2_blkid.so: can't remove '/system/lib/libext2_blkid.so:read-only file system
so here is my question how do i lag fix my phone
if i can't there is no point for me to have ext2 tools how do i uninstall that?
mount system as r/w with root explorer or super manager or something
hey i don;t know what r/w is and i don;t know how to do any of the stuff
but i have one more question i just found out that when i click to do lag fix it says
that i don't have enough memory
and i did check free space
and it;s saying
i have 1076mb out of 1917mb available
but when i goto setting sd card and phone storage
it says that
sd total space 1.86gb
available 1.8gb
total phone storage 12.76gb
available space 6.01 gb
application storage
available 1.05(?????)
pleaes please help me
Hey all, my girlfriend recently got an Optimus V, and I was trying to set her up with all the fun games she liked from my phone, but after installing 5 apps, the phone already starts complaining that the memory is full. After rooting today, I added some root apps, and again I had a simliar problem that the memory was low.
I've never had this problem since I have a Captivate with 2GB of the 16GB internal memory allocated to phone memory.
Anyways, I was hoping someone could help me with this problem, is there anything we can do besides just using app2sd pro (which doesn't even do all of the apps anyways)?
Again, I rooted her phone, I used SuperOneClick v1.7, should I have modified the recovery and other things like in the Optimus V rooting thread?
Easiest thing to try is to root, get move2SD app and move your games to sd card. There are other options but you need an alternate Rom and an ext3 partition on your sd card

Check out the links here. I've used this cache2cache method and it freed up all sorts of memory. Gives you tons of extra internal memory.

Hi I have 500Mb ROM which is down to between 40-80Mb free. Its not rooted. 400Mb used seems to be excessive as apart from Jelly Bean theres only 15 apps on ROM, using about 30Mb with the rest on external SD.
As far as I know, there is no method to find whats hogging the space on ROM without rooting the phone, or is there?
Any ideas what I can do to fix it up please.
Thanks very much.
Alistair.

Try ES explorer on root explorer form market, they should let you see what's taking space, but if you want to delete some stuff from rom you will have to root it

What phone is it? If its using HTC Sense some of the ROMs are very heavy. Much bigger than that sometimes

Those both require ROOT
I complained to dev for camscanner that their app was hogging phone memory and they have since enabled it to be moved to External SD which has saved about 30Mb. Also I was using Firefox which is internal ROM and since sorting those 2 out now have around 100Mb free.
Had to root a phone recently to fix its IMEI and was surprised at how easy it was. Am thinking about rooting mine, but at the moment its going really well without.
Chinese G9300/MTK6577 non-rooted Android 4.1
Back again with ROM now down to around 40Mb.
The phone has 1Gb RAM and 500Mb ROM, it also has internal SD 2Gb shows as /storage/sdcard1 and this memory is not available on Non-root for apps. EG its only being used for backup ringtones and sounds.
Phone also has 16Gb external microSD as /storage/sdcard0 which is available for external SD app move non-root.
I would like to be able to be able to move some of the apps from internal ROM to /storage/sdcard1 (sometimes called ext-memory). Reason being internal storage is more stable than external SD. I'd prefer to have most apps on that internal ROM currently unavailable as non-root, and use MicroSD external 16Gb for music/photos/movies etc.
If I root the phone and use something like Link2SD will it give me the option to move to internal/ sdcard1, or is it only possible to use sdcard1 if I physically remove sdcard0/MicroSD?
Thanks kindly.
