[Q] Any way to turn off the light behind the buttons? - Atrix 4G Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I like to read ebooks at night. Those buttons are very bright and don't seem to ever turn off when it is dark. It is very annoying. Anyone know of a way to force them to be off?

[Q] Random illumination of Capacitative buttons

Hi All,
I have been using my Motorola Razr for a while now. I have noticed that the behaviour of the lighting of the capacitative buttons (home, menu, search, back) is arbitrary.
They are supposed to light up when I am in dim light and shut off when there is enough ambient light. On the contrary, they dont seem to light up when the light is not there. I have also tried putting my thumb on the light sensor and they still dont light up. Similarly, they light up on any odd occassion when light is quite fine.
Does anyone have a fix for this???
Capacitive buttons when on bedside dock
The lights on the capacitive buttons of my Razr no longer turn off when on the bedside dock. I briefly installed Razr Dock and noticed the lights staying on after that. Has anyone experienced this?
BTW, I have emailed the developer, so if anyone is interested, I'll post whatever reply I get.

Auto rotate?

Is there a way to disable screen orientation?
No
This is like an old iphone. Is there a way to stop the screen from lighting up upon receiving a message?
Why?
I don't like the screen lighting up..
Turn phone upside down
Oh, good idea!

[Q] G Watch - "always on" screen flicker in the dark?

I just got my LG G Watch yesterday, and I noticed last night when you leave it with the "always on" option where it dims the screen way down, that in the dark I can see the screen flickering. I tried all the different brightness levels in Settings to see if that would change it, but does not. Can anyone else confirm this? You'll have to get in pitch black environment to see this.
Also, is there a way to turn off the "shake n wake", where it turns the screen on from motion? I tend to sleep with a watch on, and noticed this watch is very sensitive to (or that I flop around like a fish when I sleep.. that's possible too) motion, and I'd rather be able to set it in "touch to wake" mode.

I haven't noticed any flickering on mine, but I may just not be as sensitive to it. You can disable the 'wake by motion' function by muting the watch. (Pull down from the top of the screen)

Thanks for the tip on muting to stop the motion sensor from activating the watch. I find it very sensitive and just sitting at my desk working tends to make it constantly wake up. Muting also turns off vibration so I miss when a notification comes to the watch. Maybe in an OS update or possibly a Developer will enhance the settings so you can still get vibration alerts, but turn off motion wake.

Tilt-to-Ambient

Hey folks,
Does anyone know of a way to have the watch display in ambient mode (instead of turning fully on) when you tilt it? I find that the ambient mode is plenty bright and don't need or want it to light up fully when I just want to see the time. Any thoughts or ideas?
Switch off "turning on screen on tilt" (or something like that) in watch settings in Android Wear app

Wileyfox Swift 2X - back/home/show all screens - buttons lights

Hi there,
Does anybody know of a way to lower or illuminate the light of the static - back/home/show all screens - buttons? When reading my phone in a dark room, the lights are quite heavy on the eyes.
Kind regards,
Martin
Mine seem to change with the screen brightness. Do you have your ambient display turned on.

Thnx for the reply! It does indeed change simultaneously with the screen brightness, but it will always stay on. I was wondering if maybe the button lights could be turned off completely and only appear when the screen is touched for example. But I'm guessing it's not possible.
