I had my HTC myTouch4g unlocked by a repair show today. He had requested the unlock code. We put in a AT&T sim vs the T-Mobile sim. Then he put in the unlock code. Now, I can access any of the Google Accounts.
I was using the new Google 2-step verification successful for weeks. But I tried on those codes. Then finally, I canceled or deactivated those procedures. But it still does not work.
Do I need to delete everything by resetting the phone to factory setting?
Will this always happen if I switch sim calls in the future?
Any help would be appreciated. I am glad this happened before I went off to Africa.
wrong place buddy i would help but i dont know so sorry

Hi
I recently got HD2 (US) with tmobile after upgarde. My question is, "Is there any way to hide phone's identity on their website". Like for testing I checked website, it shows i am using HD2 -- then I took out the sim card and inserted in my old phone samsung katalyst...Next day i checked website it automatically changed information in my profile that I am now using samsung katalyst.
I want to know if is there any way to change some settings in phone or use some application, so when I put simcard back in HD2....It doesn't show on tmobile website, that I am using HD2. (by the way I got unlock code from t-mobile website - officially and have unlocked my HD2..if it helps to solve the question.)
Thanks
Hello Everyone,
I have seen that an unlocked Streak should work on Bell in Canada. My current phone is an HTC Touch (CDMA) and I have acquired a Bell SIM card for my Streak. After inserting it into the phone (Twice - once in store and once at home through online site) it finds Bell under Networks, but fails to connect stating the following:
Unable to connect to the network at this time. Please try again later.
Here are the details of the Unlocked UMTS Streak I have originally from Dell.com:
1 225-0059 Streak UMTS Base
1 318-0145 Carbon,Streak
1 317-1902 16GB SD Memory Card
1 331-0805 Black Barcode label,16GB,UMTS,No SIM, Online,Unlocked,Streak
1 331-0789 Dell Streak Documentation & Manual, Unlocked
1 926-0563 Advanced Exchange Limited Warranty Initial Year
...
Please let me know what I need to change/do to get this activated. I really want to have this up and running and eventually add a HSPA/3G data plan.
Is it any settings that need to change or do I have the wrong hardware? Let me know if further information/clarification is required.
Additionally, from my understanding, the first SIM that was activated in-store(and correspondingly deactivated) was wasted since I had to switch back to my HTC Touch to have a working phone. Is this a valid assumption?
Thanks and I really hope someone can save me. I did not purchase this solely for usage as a tablet. Lastly, in store when the representative tried my serial/IMEI it stated that the phone should in fact work.
Thanks,
Jazz
It should work but maybe try this:
In the dialer type *#*#307#*#* to Enable engineering apps in launcher
Then go to EMList in you app list. In EMList choose network settings, try and see if all of your networks are enabled. See if that works, then maybe check your APN settings as well as make sure the phone is set to WCDMA only. Rogers and Bell share a lot of the same frequencies. Obviously the unlock on your phone is good because it wouldn't let you use a SIM otherwise.
The MyTouch didn't have a CDMA version, just a WCDMA version I think so the frequencies should be fine. Maybe try doing a factory reset might help too.
Hello,
Thanks for rapid response
I tried the dialer thing provided and it says ensure correct Passport is on the SD card. Not sure how to proceed there?
EMlist does not come up, however, SIM Toolkit looks new?
APN settings are blank and I set the Streak to WCDMA only.
I was not sure what you meant by MyTouch. My previous model was an HTC Touch.
I think if there are no more options, I may factory reset?
Please let me know and thanks for your help!
Hello
After performing a simple reset (on/off) the device works and is now stating that it is on the Bell network. Thanks again for all of your help! I am very excited about this.
Great! So yours is working. I just bought my Dell Streak last night, I have the exact same problem you had, except, rebooting the phone has not worked. I've even purchased an unlock code, and unlocked my phone again, still doesnt work! What do I do, please, someone help me.. -.-
So on my phone, I have a sim card pin setup when you turn it on. After you incorrectly enter the pin number 3 times, it locks you out until you call your service provider. So I called my service provider, who gave me a PUC (pin unlock code) code and told me that there should be an option that says enter your puc or something like that. But there wasn't, so the assistant asked me to enter it in the emergency dialer. When I hit dial after entering the PUC, it said that it was not an emergency dialer. According to the assistant, it should have automatically accepted the code, bringing me to the issue of the unlock menu. On stock, when you enter in *2945#500#, it should automatically accept the code, but on custom roms, it doesnt. I believe the two issues are related, but I would like to confirm this first. And maybe this might be sort of a request to the devs asking if they can include the unlock menu (i have read that it is not implemented as it is useless to most people) since now I have to get a new SIM card (not that it is the devs' fault, but it would be useful for people like me).
Or you could borrow a dumbphone and use that to unlock your sim (unless you get to keep your old number if you get a new one).
I have yet to experience needing a PUC on my sim on this phone on this ROM.

just tried that but it didnt work. probably because my sim card has been locked permanently
if a simcard is locked, than its locked and can only be unlocked by a PUK code.
You can order a new SIM card from network provider, its possile i know if the PUK is locked too because of to many failed trys.
even if i break the code to use the SIM card again, you cant make calls nor use
the contacts on the SIM - the network provider is checking the SIM status and
locks it again.

thanks for the reply.
but does the PUK code have anything to do with the unlock menu or those hidden codes in general? i know that on stock froyo, some codes are accepted automatically in the regular dialer. on custom roms, these codes are not accepted in the regular dialer at all. the emergency dialer did not accept the PUK code just like how the regular dialer did not accept the other codes (such as *2945#500#) and i was told that it was supposed to accept the code.
sorry, i never used hidden menus and dont know if its implemented in android source
or its a extra feature by manufacturers like LG, HTC,Samsung etc.
As i know the PUK is only for unlock the SIM when the chip is locked and can only be entered on a lockscreen keypad.
finally solved the puk issue. on my phone it did not ask for me to input the puk code. then i inserted my sim card in my dad's phone (same phone except running on stock froyo). now it asked me for a puk code. if only custom roms had this functionality of accepting these codes...
I am having some issues making the switch and needed some help.
I purchased my Galaxy S2 from AT&T awhile back, rooted and installed task650's AOKP rom after I had issues with the ICS update, and have been running the latest build happily ever since with no problems. After my contract was up I got an unlock code from AT&T, purchased a sim from AIO and installed it. The phone booted up and never asked for the unlock code. I am able to make and receive calls and texts, but mobile data doesn't work. WiFi works just fine. I installed and ran GalaxSimUnlock and Galaxy S Unlock. Both programs indicated my phone was unlocked.
Is this an issue with AIO? The signal bars say AT&T on the phone, but I just assumed since AT&T owns AIO this was normal. Do I need to install a different rom and try to unlock again? I am going to try and track down a sim from a different carrier and see if that works. I have tried dialing *#7465625# to check the unlock status, but it returns the error "connection problem or invalid mmi code".
I have searched for answers, but I am clueless. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!
Sounds like your APN settings are not configured correctly with your new sim. Go into your APN settings and let us know what is set.

Here are screenshots of the only settings I could find.
I went on aio's site and found how to manually enter APN settings.
Followed the directions and all seems to be working now! Thanks for pointing me in the right direction!

Hang on to that unlock code. When I moved from AT&T to Net10, my phone didn't ask me for an unlock code either. Net10 and AIO both use AT&T networks. But when I went to Canada and bought a local SIM there, it asked me for the code. Luckily, I had saved it.
So, in a few days, i'm going to ireland. Currently, i'm trying to get my SCH-i545 (Verizon S4) To add an apn. I can't! Greyed out. Everything i've looked at says to just edit the current apn, but i can't. Everyone else who's tried using another SIM says talk and text work but not data, at least, not without changing apn settings. I've tried flashing new roms (Bootloader is locked) i've tried downgrading, i've softbricked it a few times, and i'm at the end of my chain. I really don't want to be stuck in ireland for the first time with no google maps... please help!

This might not help but since you're in a rush I have a possible suggestion. When I was overseas I was having trouble tying to edit the APN but I didn't know how. I did discover that if I chose one of the WRONG pre-existing APN options, I was then able to edit that one to the correct settings.

The options will stay grayed out until you actually put the new sim in, then you can add them.
Hmm...
How can i explain this to my grandpa? More his phone than mine, but other than right now, he never lets me touch it. Is there any way to instruct him to add an apn? We're going our separate ways as soon as we get there, and i'm kinda concerned. I won't be around to help him.

Where are you getting the Sims from? If you go to a storefront usually the carrier will input the apns for you
