I just wanted to flash a custom ROM, I have read and googled a lot but I couldn't find anywhere, how to backup the original recovery, so that if the phone needs to be repaired under warranty, the phone would look completely stock if they try out a factory reset.
So, is there any way to backup the original recovery?

I have a cwm backup of my stock rom from the day I got my device. Obviously, I had to install cwm to make the backup.
How can I get back the stock recovery? I did some searching on the dev forum, but didn't find anything. Is there an odin flashable file somewhere?
I want my device to be completely stock. Triangle-away (to reset the counter in download mode) is not working yet, but hopefully it will soon
I apologize if I'm missing something obvious here. Thanks!
I recently rooted the phone and wanted to install a custom rom. When I tried to back up the current stock rooted rom with rom manager, someone went wrong. So I was then stuck on a flashing black screen. But I can still access Odin/download mode. But whenever I try to flash something, it flashes, but the screen just reboots back to the flashing black screen. Help please I dont know what to do
What firmware base did you start from, and what method did you use to root the phone?
Rom Manager is not recommended for use on the I777 phone. You need a custom kernel which contains ClockworkMod Recovery to back up the phone. Did you try to install ClockworkMod Recovery from Rom Manager?
Need more information before we can help. So, answer the above, and provide as much detail in addition as you can.
I almost messed my phone up by not rooting or flashing a ROM the proper (safe) way and ended up using a return to stock / unroot guide to start fresh and just follow the guides for rooting and installing ROMs from there.
Hello there,
Need Help on urgent basis. I am still using HTC Explorer . I need Help with multiple things.
I was on custom rom with Philz Touch recovery. My phone started to do some issues with soft keys. I Tried some other ROM but nothing changed. I reverted back to the same ROM and then even my touch started to mess up.
I did restore of my old Stock ROM. (Backup I did before installing Custom ROM)
Now my touch is much better and soft keys are working much better.
I want to do a factory reset on stock ROM to see if can get rid of this soft key and touch issue because reverting back to stock ROM did a good job in almost solving my issue now my questions are:
1. Stock ROM but custom recovery (Philz Touch Recovery) is it possible to do factory reset in this situation or I have to revert back to stock recovery?
2. I am facing issue with fastboot my phone does not connect in fastboot mode it does shows Fastboot USB but on my computer it says Waiting for device need help with this too.
3. If anyone knows about the method to flash stock recovery without using PC then kindly do let me know.
4. I am using Stock ROM backup. ROM which came already installed on my device. Do I need to download RUU or it is just fine to do factory reset on this ROM.
Reply as fast as you can guys because I have only this one phone to use and I am tired of trying alot of things now I just want to do factory reset and then start over again.

Hi all,
how can get back my stock boot recovery (or whatever)?
I Stocked my cooperve with odin and just flashed Rafael-Kernel.
Everything was fine.
Then I made only a Backup with CWM 5028 and 6053 and now in Bootloop.
What can I do to boot existing Stock-ROM again without loosing data.
I canĀ“t understand that I couldnt make a Backup with CWM and now device is nearly dead.
Thanks and regards
So, A week ago, I had attempted to flash TWRP on a locked but rooted bl. I lost recovery altogether. A lot of my apps then glitched out, so I tried a factory reset, which resulted in a soft brick. I managed to unbrick by reflashing the pit. A lot of my apps are still glitching, but that is not my concern, and I will address that later. I still dont have a recovery. I don't want to flash a whole firmware, but I cant seem to find a stock recovery anywhere. Can someone send me a file (or something?) for the SCH-I545 recovery from OC1 firmware?
