Hi guys! I have a question that I can't answer. How does Paul of MoDaCo do Root for every phone? I explain me better: it comes out the Nexus S and then he obtains root with superboot
My final question is : how does he do a superboot that roots the phone (install busybox and su.apk) ???
Thanks you!
SuperOneClick root
The OP wants to know how the root exploit works.
Check out psneuter, its the exploit used in SuperOneClick
https://github.com/tmzt/g2root-kmod/blob/master/scotty2/psneuter/psneuter.c
Thanks for the link. Do you have anymore of those kind of exploits for android?
Basically, it is an exploit that allows to install busybox and Superuser.apk?
Those exploites allows to run adb shell with superuser permission. So it's possible to do everything.

Hi
I have been reading and studying the "[GUIDE] And then there was ROOT !" in the Development forum and would like a few questions answering regarding the apps that need to be installed to gain root access.
Can someone please tell me which version of the following items are needed:
Titanium Backup PRO or Titanium Backup * Root
BusyBox or BusyBox - Donate or Busybox Installer or Busybox Installer Pro
If more thna one version is acceptable the pros/cons of each would be appreciated.
Thanks in advance.
To add on this, what's required on the phone to root? Is the newest firmware rootable? battery fully charged? is it rootable out of the box?
I read the guide too but wanted to make sure I have taken all the precautions necessary to root.
I just connected to KIES last night and having major issues trying to upgrade which is kind of putting me off rooting until I get a real clue

TB Root is the basic - free version
TB Pro is the paid donation type function (well worth it)

If you follow the tutorial for rooting and use superoneclick it will install Busybox for you, so no need to worry here.
The newest firmware is indeed rootable, you just flash the old firmware (in the guide) run superoneclick then flash the latest firmware (available in the first post of its thread)
it's really very easy.
It's easier than getting Kies to update the damn phone, honestly.
Im have been attempting every root method available. Is there anyone that has an idea around rooting this device with latest firmware. I was thing of we develop a boot from sdcard method or use a /data partition method.
Unless a newer version of superoneclick will do the job. Current .versions gives out permission denied errors(unable to remount rw)
I want to help the enlighten community with a custom rom but a restore method or root method is first priority.

OK. So, with the MASSIVE assistance of djrbliss. ZV5 has ROOT!
The work is based on the Poot exploit, and does work. Do a google search for Root Optimus Elite with Poot and you will find the information to get r dun.
I don't have a ton of time right now, but I'm willing to do some research and attempt (key word here, attempt) to follow the great djrbliss's work and re-root the device and write a script to do it. BUT!! I'm in the middle of moving across the country, so PLEASE don't ask me to get it done tomorrow.
I will do what I can to help. PM me, and please be patient. I will help in any way I can.
Thanks everyone....Don't give up. Just know it's possible on ZV5, it's not un-breakable.

If there is a way, prove me wrong. Please!
Hi guys,
I am planning to buy htc Desire V/VC or Motorola Defy XT.Since there is no thread about them yet, my question is:
Are the root method for them same as another Device? ( I am using HTC Sensation & rooted ) if not,Can someone explain me the step process to root them ?
Thanks,
Ronald
I have no idea but I'd just try super one click because it has gingerbreak and zergrush and maybe others and it autodetects what to use (and I like run-on sentences)
super one click is pretty self explainatory and there are guides if you can't figure it out
but since you've rooted before you should definitely get it no problem (usb debugging on and follow instructions after clicking root or whatever)
edit: you don't have either now...
hmm... to google..?
edit2: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=803682 it should work on just about anything even NAND locked (although it's only a shell root)

The safest and easiest method I have found is Chainfire Zip file. Go to the ANDROID DEVELOPMENT forum and you will find the thread. Look for the link to Chainfire's website and look for the CWM or TWRP flashable zip. The latest version is 1.94, download it, go into recovery and flash. As simple as that.I hope this helps you.

I rooted my friends Karbonn phone with Framaroot. He had Karbonn phone Titanium S5
Framaroot is for JB Devices.
Here is link to XDA Page.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2130276
Compatible devices are given in that page. Check your device and required Root Exploit.
It is working for many people.
However there is a constant risk. So do it at your own responsibility.

Here you go my friend http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1538053:laugh:
@Sj Singh
Above solution is useless, because to use SuperSU, you need root first.
SuperSU does not root your phone. After rooting, it gives root access to apps.
I suggest you first to root your phone, then install SuperSU from above link.
Try Framaroot for rooting.
@Benelshaddai
Your solutions will not work. First root is required, then SuperSU is required for monitoring app root access.
In technical words,
First "su" binary (i.e. root) should be installed, then SuperSU (i.e. root access manager app) should be installed.

You are correct this is just the supersu app.Without a rooted phone its just useless app.
Well thnxx but it was my friends phone and he has already rooted it by binary tool.
Thread is closed.
easier on a rooted one?
Hi, was told about this executable that scattered about a while ago ( http://www.informationweek.com/mobi...loits-gingerbread-root-access/d/d-id/1102741? ) and have been wondering if something like that still posible (obviously with no relation to gingerbreak specifically)...?
Also, is it easier for such malware to gain root on a rooted phone (assuming Superuser.apk is fine and threfore I pressume there is no access to the su executable (is my assumption corect?))?
thx.
thx.
??
up?
up.
pu!
No !
if phone not rooted
it's not possible
it will need some professional work
and that's work
Can't be done with blackhat hackers
even if it rooted
it's have 2 way only
1.if the attacker is expert and have priv8 vulnerability in superuser app to gain root access
2. if user is highly stupid
it surly will give any app root permission when the app request it
Hit thanks if i helped you !
