Hi,
are there stronger batteries for the Hermes device available?
Shipped one is about 1350mAh, maybe a third party offers 1900mAh.
I have seen a 1500 mAh ones, but I think some 3rd party battery manufacturers are a tad "optimistic" when they state their batteries capacity, so i dont know if they last much longer than the original battery.
There are indeed some compatible and HTC original batteries (same as for HTC Apache) with capacities up to 2800mAh, but there are no compatible battery covers for the Tytn yet, since the batteries need extra room, thus battery compartment extension.
3000mAh soon: http://www.lionbattery.com/description.php?noproduit=473
Boy! Can't wait til they come out with that one!
More Power More Power !
WOW They even have a 4800mAh now
http://www.lionbattery.com/description.php?noproduit=324
Could you imagine.. This would be a small heavy weapon sorta.. You could throw this and really hurt someone.. Just the weight of the unit with this power pack.. YIKES..
4800mAh is for Universal.
Mugen Power Netherlands rep say they are working hard on a same-size-as-original power battery with around 2000 mAh. Waiting for that one. Of course the price needs to be right, not 1/10 of the device´s price.

is it physically the same size as original?

i believe the one i bought is the same one as kramer11's but it's about the same size as original. seems slightly thicker but you won't notice the difference.
you probably won't notice the battery life difference either as it is only 150mah difference. i ended up purchasing a 3000mah one and have started using it from today. it makes the device thiker but it's a great stuff that comes with a replacement battery cover. recommended for anyone who wants longer battery life.
I dont understand why the hermes battery is twice the size as the htc wizard and is only 100mah more.
Anyone ?

Can you post some pics regarding how does this battery look on your TyTN? And how is that working out? Would really appreciate some more details .. Also, where did you buy it from?
How about this one?
http://www.boxwave.com/products/hig...ded-battery-htc-wizard-cingular-8125_1160.htm
It's for the 8125/Wizard
Would it work in the 8525 / TYTN?
--sorry some how i missed posting the link, how useful was this post?
Boxwave battery response
I requested that boxwave look into compatibility of the ElectraSpan Extended Battery (which allready works for the 8125/Wizard) for the 8525/TYTN.
The response I received from boxwave was they would look into the request but it depends on requests (demand) received as to how quickly they will develop/offer the new products.
So here is the link to request the extended battery for the 8525:
http://www.boxwave.com/community/request/request_model_103.htm
Fill in your name and email and then a quick note telling them you have the 8525/TYTN and hit submit. If enough of us request this battery they'll probably bump it up on their priority list.

Done. I used one under which I've ordered from them before, so maybe that'll pull a tiny bit more weight than a random e-mail address....

Boxwave shows it as available now
Interesting that they never bothered to tell me, but Boxwave is showing the extended battery on their site now:

Nice capacity (2500 mAh) but it blows away the same leather case they sell that I just got for my Cingular 8525 I'll wait for battery technology to get slimmer, thank you very much. In the meantime, I just acquired a second 1350 mAh battery so I can pop it in if needed.

Has anyone tried this one
http://www.gpsforless.co.uk/product_details.php?id=6103
looks lke the new back door they provide is no where near as bluging as the 3200mAh version doing the rounds ..... but the picture may be deceptive !!
Anyone got one or used one
I have a 2800mah one I bought from igonemobile.com (via eBay).. the one that is bigger than normal and requires the special case that comes with it. I actually like it since it lifts the speaker up. With the original battery, if the phone is flat, the speaker is blocked. This 2800 works pretty good. Seems to like playing mp3's, wi-fi, and T-mobile internet usage so far. I have not charged it since Friday (Monday now) and it has like 50% power left.
I bought one in ebay (from China). 7€ + 4€ postal cost. It works nice ¡¡

Why did you double post this from the accessories forum?
Whats case do you use?
Hey guys,
you use the bigger Battery.
Which case do you use, no case?
I find no case for the bigger batteries...
Thanks!
Oliver
Yes I was wondering the same thing but I don't know if it would fit into my i.trek charger so it could be a moot point for me.
I guess maybe I just need a good "eyeglass style" case for my device.
A case for a bigger battery
Hey,
do you have tips which case I can use if I want a Battery with 2400 or 3200mAH
Thanks!
Oliver
Go to fortte dot com they make great cases and now have one that fits both extended and regular.
d
so do you guys reccommend getting 2 regular size batteries or an extended. the picture for the 3200mAH extended makes it look crazy big. i like keeping it in my pocket. What do you prefer? Also, what is the longest lasting batterry that can fit in the phone without a different back? Thanks guys. Just got my phone yesterday. Loving it. Trying to get all the things i need.
Good tip, more tips?
Thanks dwella,
good site you recommended. Yes, there a cases for bigger batteries.
But I love cases I can use my TYTN in the case, no need to pull it out.
Normaly I worked with Brando Alu Cases ore PDAIR Leather Cases with open front.
Has anyone a tip for cases with these specifications (No nee to pull out)
Thanks
Oliver
Help, is there no case for a bigger battery?
Hey,
I searched all the forums and interet pages. Is it possible that ther ist noch case for sale for a bigger battery (mugen 3200 mAH)
I can't believe this, no one has an idea?
Thanks!
Oliver
4500mAh battery is triple that of the standard
Any thought of this model:

Very good...but...
I purchased one of the extended batteries for my Palm Treo 680 when they came out new.
While the battery had fantastic performance, the supplied cover finish (you get a replacement cover which is deeper to fit the larger high capactiy battery) and fit was of very average quality. The fit was loose, the plastic of a poor quality compared to the oem supplied cover and the colour did not match the device. If Mugen were to release a high capacity battery which fit within the device with the standard cover (i.e. high capacity same size battery as oem) supplied with the device, I'd buy the battery in a heartbeat.
Make up your own mind....
urrgggg, it looks so ugly! Loses all the flatness of the Touch HD ... There might be a new technology battery which can keep the original size, while increasing the capacity ... probably in near future with all this fuel and so on techies ...
Mugen are a good company do not worry about buying there products. first purshased there batterys years ago for the HP 2210. good quaility lions!
thanks for the pictures, now we know how ugly the Blackstone gets with that
Boxwave Extended Battery
I just bought a Boxwave 2500mah extended battery for my touch HD
http://www.boxwave.com/products/hig...pacity-extended-battery-htc-touch-hd_3387.htm
and so far Im pretty happy with its performance, first I was opting to go for the Mugen ones but they're to expensive and will really make your HD looks chubby. Im using my device watching mp4 movies and AMVs at the subway and some browsing, so standard battery is not enough. Now my biggest challenge is to find a customed case for the Touch HD that will fit the extended battery.
Im planning to modify my Boxwave smoke gray crystal clear flexi case to fit a extended batteried Touch HD.
Wish me luck.
I bought before 15 days a 1500 ma battery from www.netimes.com
Very good and chip. I had test also with diamond these batteries without problems. So now after 15 days I can say HD 1500 netimes battery it is the same good like at the Diamond.
I prefer to have 3 batteries in my bag than one which make my HD so fat.
yeah, it looks ****ty!
Can you please post some pics of the sides and any other angle so as to get an idea how this it makes the hd?
I really NEED to purchase one tonigh or in the morning, hope you can help.

WOW, totally shocked by that. I wrongly thought that the HD battery life wasn't as good as other phones including the iPhone.
Excellent news for us though!!!!
I have buy a 1800 mAh battery for my diamond, and now I can say it's a big mistake. Very ugly diamond with that battery and the plastic cover did even not close right. In the second minute I have throw it on the window.
I do not recommend to anyone to buy such thing.
Better seconnd original battery or mabe a emergency charger (you plug in the usb and charge the device)

Good heavens!!! has that phone in the pictures given birth yet? must be twins!... seriously though I wish some case vendor would create a belt wearable case with a built-in "top-off" battery... especially if it used a standard HTC HD battery so I could stick it in my craddle to charge the same time as my phone!

+1 for that. VERY cheap, i got 3 for my extended hikes, works like a charm. It's a better solution than the "portable power stations" too.
I really think it's a boom...
has someone this one?? is it fake or what

no fake but a cheap china product, I dont trust it, maybe it can explode
There is no god, where is the beauty of the phone now!
Anyone found one for the TP2? Preferably one that does not require a different back cover.
Thank you.
A second question I'd ask is:
If you've got the Euro or Asian version of the phone, are the Sprint/AT&T extended batteries and accessories compatible with the overseas models of the phone?
I am buying this. @ 2800mAh this thing is going to make the TP2 mint. And this vendor is really good and reliable. Tracyandmatt.co.uk bought one for their Touch Diamond 2 which is 2200mAh and they have had no problems with their phone. You get a new back cover for the TP2 with the battery for the price. New back cover is not as flash as the original but hey, much better battery.

Take a look at this site, maybe it is something to use with your tp2.

My main concern with a change in battery cover is the sound quality for the speaker phone.
Any personal experience?

I highly doubt the 2800mAh for this battery. It's simply too cheap to be good. A really good battery with all the electronics inside and a high energy density which is shipped with a backcover should at least cost about 50(EUR) to be cost-effective for the manufacturer -otherwise there have never been engineering thinking and technological knowledge which would reduce the costs but the quality too.
Of course, you can try it and maybe it's better than the original one (it's bigger anyway) but I, personally, would never use it for my phone.
I have just ordered the 2800mAh battery I'll give you guys a full review of it when receiving it, including any effects on the rear speaker sound quality.

well, i've been buying some of this chinese product, you might say some are good, some are bad. and yes, cost for chinese manufacturer is very cheap, i really mean it, very cheap....especially its labor cost....
i bought the same product from ebay, for 27 US free shipping, will give review when it come.
Yeah, I would like to read a review about the extended batteries.
Maybe you have the possibility to check the milliamps hour (mAh) with a device, to see if it really has the 2800 [mAh] the manufacturer states
I'm wonder if there is any batteries out there that you have seen from a brand you trust that use the stock diamentions as the stock battery, eg doesn't require extended back casing, only one I know of is the Seidio's 1400mAh, is there anything higher? Better brand, better price?
the only ones i've seen bigger have the extended batteries. they go up to 2600mAh.
buy one. believe me. its worth the big back/ugly bump.
function>aesthetics anyday(at least for me)
I already have one 2600mAh from Seidio, I do enjoy the extra grip when qwerty typing but I don't enjoy it in my pocket. Thus the reason I'm asking, rather get 2 x 1400mAh batts and shove one in my wallet if you know what I mean
i feel the exact opposite. i dont mind it as much when im not using it. when im holding it i cant stand it. but i do like the fact i dont have to keep a charger handy all the time. i know theres a couple normal size batteries around that SAY there 1600mAh and up but there kind of shaky to me. no brand name, barely even a name at all half the time. i wont trust anything besides seidio for extended life, i have a seidio 3400mAh i think in my tilt and its EPIC.

The results will suprise you...
so it seems like it may not be entirely beneficial to get the 1600(or 1700) mah battery?
Keep in mind that only HTC original batteries have the finest "part" in switching into tickle charge mode (the moment when the battery gets full and quits charging)
2600 mAh battery on G1
Hey guys, so I purchased a 2600 mAh battery for my G1. I LOVE it! My G1 stays on for days! Despite having the extended back on the phone I think it was well worth it.I got it on EBay for pretty darn cheap too. Anyways...I don't have any screen shots of it as of right now but I'll try to get some up. My phone does look like a brick but the battery life is improved so much! Look them up on EBay if you would like to buy one, anywhere else is probably a rip off. Anyways...just thought I'd give my two cents. Take it easy guys! TTYL!
I really want the Seidio 2600 but I've gotten attached to my hard case, it has the hinged feet, and I'm not sure that 1400 would be worth the cash for the amount gained IMO... If Seidio made a hard case with the feet on the back it would be perfect.
Just bought a seidio 2600, 51 shipped from amazon. It's a little high compaired to the 2300 for like 30 or so from ebay, but I think it's worth it for a good branded 3rd party accessory.

people have been talking about a 1600mah battery made by Andida, a Hong Kong-based company. from what it seems, they make quality batteries and some people at XDA have them. it fits into the regular G1 back... it's on ebay: obo_hk or something. $10. otherwise yeah the 2600mah seidio's are best. i just bought the seidio or would switch to the Andida. maybe my dad will let me do a return since the Seidio was bought on Amazon
