Gingerbread Youtube App on Eclair! - XPERIA X8 Themes and Apps

1. Download the new YouTube.apk
2. Install Root Explorer.
3. In root explorer go to data/data and delete youtube file (com.google.android.youtube)
4. Then data/dalvik-cache delete youtube file,
5. And go to Settings>Applications>Manage Applications>Then uninstall youtube.apk
6. Use Root Explorer to install the new YouTube.apk and you are done!
Using ADB-
Using ADB Shell this should just work:
adb remount
adb shell rm system/app/YouTube.apk
adb uninstall com.google.android.youtube

Just tried it... Work perfectly.
Only flaw i encountered was with step 5. There wasn't any option to uninstall Youtube app, so I used SystemApp Remover to remove it.

BUT.....DID YOU READ THE TITLE? IT'S CLEARLY WRITTEN THERE "FOR ECLAIR" ,
We all know that froyo supprts the new Youtube app but Eclair don't!
That's why I made the thread....

i have installed it properly and run it,
but after you exit youtube, and run it again, it will force close >_< whats the remedy for this?

Same on 2.2 youtube app made for eclair. Ya need to unistall this and install again

just logout your account before exit youtube app
