I had a Galaxy S 3G and went to the new 4G phone today. When I connected to USB I could only see the external SD. I used to get two popup windows to explore the drives. Is the Internal SD hidden in the 4G model or do I have to root this phone or change some properties to gain access? I noticed the external SD chip is 16GB. Have they made hardware changes and eliminated the internal memory?
There is no internal storage on the Galaxy S 4G.
Just so you know the Galaxy S 4G has its own section on XDA now.

Does the vibrant 4g also come with 16gb of built in memory or does it just come with a 16gb sd?
The Galaxy 4G comes with 1gb internal memory (just shy of 200mb for apps) and a 16gb external card. It's very different from the Vibrant's set up.
So I bought 2 sd cards, 16GB class 4 sandisk and a 16GB class 10 transcend.
SD tools shows 5mbps write/13mbps read for the sandisk & 14mbps write/ 20mbps read for transcend.
Now on mounting the phone sd card on pc & transferring large file (for best possible xfer speed) , for both cards, the max speed I am getting is near around 5MBps.
If I connect the same sd cards via adaptor to pc , the xfer speeds are similar to what is shown in SD Tools.
Is this normal and all phone usb connectors are this poor quality? Or is it just me and I should change something / get phone to a service center?
im getting the same problem. i just did a nandroid backup to my 16 gb SD card and it took 40 mins!
I don't know what happened. I just installed a new SD card in my rezound. (copied everything from old SD to pc, then installed new SD, and copied everything over to new SD) and now i don't have any mobile data / 3g has an x near the signal bars. I did install CleanROM 1.7 a week ago, but i don't think that has anything to do with it. I don't know whats wrong. I even put the old SD back in and I still have no mobile data / 3g. I don't know what the problem could be. This is the new SD card i got - A-Data USA 32 GB Micro SDHC Class 10 Flash Card with SD Adaptor. If someone could help me that would be great. Thanks

Do you have the battery cover on? That's where all the antennas are. No cover=no data.
cover is on. so idk what else it could be

Check your settings. I used to have my LTE turn itself off when I was on stock. Happened a few times, although I still had 3g, but can't hurt to check through them all. Other than that I don't know.
The preferred network type was switched to WCMA for some reason, I have LTE Switch and i switched it back to CDMA. Mobile data 3g is working again.
Sprint is out of the 32GB model.
Will I lose out on anything if I just use a 64GB micro SD?
On my EVO LTE, I can move apps to the "SD", is that possible on the GS3?
Thank you so much.
I tried to put the micro sd card from my evo 4g into the rezound I just picked up and it will not side in the slot.
I don't know if the slot is damaged or it is not the correct card.
you're putting it in wrong lol. along as it's micro you're good. if it's too large then iit's mini and not micro

According to Wikipedia, the EVO 4G uses microSD, as basically all phones do.
