Hi,
I have the Atrix 4G and whenever I take a picture or a video, and send it as text messaging (mms), it always asks me to resize. Any still picture using the camera always asks me to resize. I would understand the video, but a picture.
Is this because the Atrix takes a picture that is high res that it would just send it through text messaging unless it is resized.
I am using Handcent and also the built in text messaging, and it will always ask me to resize and really a pain in the.......
Any suggesstions, or any settings, or any recommendations to just have take a pic and send....
Thank you
So just let it resize...what's the problem?
Every phone resizes its pictures before sending, most just don't ask. Even the beloved iPhones resize their pics (select a pic to send and at the bottom it'll show a message saying "Resizing" for a second). Why is this a problem?

When I receive a sms message, I know in options I can turn off the auto display option, very good, but if I click on the envelope icon why does it sort of preview the message rather than go straight to the inbox? Sorry that was rather clumsy, I hope someone can make sense of it.
It's really cool and it can be done using a small freeware application:

Of course it will also display the sender's name and/or first 20 characters of the message on your homescreen too, provided you have the SMS count plugin.
I find this very nice and I wanted to share it with you!
really good app!)
scrolling
i think i've sent myself about 10 txts since installing this just amazed. I had an LG before this phone with Vz and was able to view the txt on the external display AND scroll down if longer....any way to maybe program the external volume buttons to allow for scrolling?
Currently, I have the People widget set to display my Favorites contacts. I have set a caller ID picture for each contact. The pictures I use is 320x320 res. When I first add the contacts to the widget, all the pictures were very clear and sharp looking. But after some time, the pictures become pixelated and maintains this look until I manually go into each contact and reassign the picture. The pixelated picture will eventually show up again, and it remains pixelated when the person calls me, looks horrible.
Is this a known issue and there are no fix? Or is there a specific resolution that I should be setting my caller id picture as? TIA
Nvm, figured it out. Turns out when you sync your contacts with gmail, gmail resizes all of you contact pictures down to 96x96. So when the people widget displays it, the 96x96 pictures gets enlarged and thus becomes pixelated.
Solution:
Settings>Accounts & Sync
Turn ON Auto Sync briefly
Click on your google account
Uncheck syncing for contacts
Turn OFF auto sync
Reassign your pictures for whoever that's going to be in the people widget
I do like text messages being displayed on the screen as soon as they come in. I've been using this app to display full images of Contacts: https://market.android.com/details?id=com.androminigsm.fsci
But it sure would be nice to only have messages from important contacts displayed for preview instead of all incoming messages.
Can this be done, is there an app or setting for this?
is there an issue with the stock messaging app when you get an MMS? whenever i get a picture message that also includes text, i can read part of the text in the notification pulldown, but once i view the pic in messaging, the text disappears and i can't find it. has anyone noticed this too?
edit;i installed GoSms and i can see the text there... so it seems to be just the Sony stock messaging app? i actually had been admiring how the stock messaging app displays pictures nice and large... but maybe it causes an issue with the text that goes with the pic?
