[Q] Kernel Confusion - Vibrant Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

With all the 2.2.1 roms and porting of I9000 roms and multiiple versions of the different kernels being posted over the last few days I'm more than a bit confused.
Bionix Frost (2.2.1) originally needed (SDCard Fix) version of one of three kernels. now I don't know as it says all kernels supported.
Darkys 9.3 Vibrant Edition (2.2.1) comes with a standard 2.2 kernel. I'm using this with the old Dead Horse #53 and all is fine. Is there no need for Dead Horse 2.2.1? Wil Dead Horse 2.2.1 work?
Simply Galaxy/Sweet Honey (2.2.1) comes with Dead Horse 2.2.1 #73. Is this needed or can any 2.2 kernel work? or is SDCard mounting bad?
Stock JS5 (2.2.1) comes with stock 2.2 kernel.
Eugene's Dead Horse 2.2 2.2.1 kernel for I9000. Is this only needed for TRUE I9000 roms?
Eugene's reboot fix (services.jar). Is this only needed for TRUE I9000 roms?
All the above 2.2.1 roms. Do I need to use a I9000 theme or can I use a I9000 theme? Will it break the services.jar or something else?
Same questions about Vibrant 2.2 themes.
BTW, yes I read all th OP's.
Thanks

axura kernals?

hey guys, i'm using Axura2257VE rom, and I love it. I was wondering where i can find kernals that are compatible with this rom? or are all kernals compatible with all roms? Sorry for my noobness but i don't want to brick my phone, thanks for any help.
The only things that need to match are that the kernel ws designed for your phone (obv), and that it was built for the version of android that you are running (Axura is 2.2, hence you want a 2.2 kernel)
Thanks that is good to know.

[Q] Kernel Confusion

I know this doesn't really belong here but I've posted this in Q&A with no responses

The latest dead horse will work with all 2.2 and 2.2.1 roms. That is all you need to know really. Use it. Its really fast and stable.
Other kernels you have to read to see if they support 2.2.1.

[Q] Vibrant ROMS

Hey, I just got my 2.2 Vibrant rooted via SuperOneClick and I'm ready to try a custom ROM. Spent a lot of time reading and it seems Team Whiskeys Bionix V. My question is whats the difference or which one is better between Bionix-V 1.3.1 Gingerbread Edition and Bionix-V 1.3.1 TouchWiz Edition? Is Stock KA7 Kernel with Voodoo a good combo for em? And how do I flash the rom and the kernel?

[Q] Trigger 2.9.4 and Trigger 3.2

So I'm switching back to a Froyo ROM because school's starting soon. My current plan is to do the trigger ROM with the Overstock kernel. I read the OP for trigger 3.2 and 2.9.4 (and re-read it, thank you very much and I can't see what the differences are. They're both froyo roms. Is 3.2 just a recompile? And what's KB5 and KB1 mean? Doesn't it have something to do with the base firmware? Lastly, what's the difference between 3.2_final and 3.2_final_wmfix on the trigger download page? (http://sourceforge.net/projects/trigger-rom/files/) Please excuse my noobishness.... I tried a gingerbread rom and pretty much broke my phone (crashed a lot, almost every app force closed) . I just want to get it stable and battery efficient. Any help?
EDIT: SOLVED!
