well mate i must say i think it depends in which country you got your x10 because me to be honest i did not face this issue and i bough it in canada whit rogers as carrier so i really think it depends on your region.

I don't know if anyone got a response back on this, but you could use this method to adjust the volume on your X10, X10 mini, X10 mini pro.
Steps to adjust the low in-call volume, ringer, speaker volume, microphone on X10, X10 mini, and X10 mini pro!
To get to this menu, you need to enter the service menu of the phone.
1) If you are on android 2.1 then you press the following keys from the lock screen: home, back, back, home, back, home, home, back
2) You have entered the service window
3) Press Service tests
4) To increase in-call volume press >earphone - You will hear a voice playing,
press > Volume +++ to increase the voice volume. (It will loop so you can continue to next step
by pressing the back key)
5) To increase media/speakerphone press >speaker, you will hear a voice playing,
press > Volume+++ to increase the speaker volume. (Again it will loop so go to next step by pressing the back key)
6) To increase the microphone volume press >Microphone, It will start recording so go ahead and say something.
Once it finishes recording it plays it back and this is when you should press >Volume+++ to increase the microphone
volume. Press the back key to exit.
7) Press the back key to exit service tests menu. Press back again to exit service.
I hope these steps help!
But that isnt helping for me.

it sounds louder while doing the test than in the real phone call.
not working here, but the thanks!

I have Rogers as a carrier also so maybe it differs from phone to phone.
Some time in the near future there will be a stable custom kernel that will fix the in-call volume among other things.

Thanks, I will try it this night.

Nice to see another version for HD2.
Can it be updated to Beta2 etc like the above.
Does it have Airplane mode button on first homescreen? - due to Sim Error prob that is prevalent that would be handy along with wi-fi & bluetooth

Can someone tell me why on earth would you want the volume reduced? Either if it's about ringer volume or call volume.
Having used NAND android since day one, ringer volume and call volume were a bit insufficient even at the highest setting so trying wp7 I might say it meets my needs.
If the call volume is too loud, there are 30 units you can use to fine tune it. Why would you want the volume turned down from the rom itself?

[Q] volume Button

hi guys,
i love the samsung galaxy s2 phone, but i have a question.
Whilst using the phone, i end up accidently pressing the volume button and this can sometimes mean i put the "Notification" or "Ringer" volume really down.
I only want to be able to control such options by actually going into the Settings menu, so is there a way to disable this button or somehow change it's functionality?
BUMP!
Surely someone must have the answer?

I guess so nyssa, but many also still have their mobiles, watching this forum and are still replying to many questions on this forum.
Hey there. Have you even tried searching in the market? The very first app for "volume" query can do just that
Sent from outer space by aliens on tapatalk using SGS2
thanks aj rockwell. That app i believe only helps you adjust settings with volume. I actually want to Remap buttons, so that the volume button cannot adjust sounds other than "IN-CALL volume"
this is so annoying, I was going to open a thread with the some issue. Is any chanse, mod which can switch a default option when we press volume from ringer volume to media volume. many times by incident I turn ringer volume down and I dont hear a ringer.
@ x7 - Halleluyah! At last i find someone who has exactly the issue as myself.
Guys, all i want is some app that can disable the volume button from controlling the MEDIA's/NOTIFICATION's volume. The only way i want to control these is by actually going to SETTINGS>SOUND ...surely there must be an app that can REMAP the Volume key functions?
I agree, why Samsung did this think That you can change volume ringer by pressing a volumes button? This is so silly
Sent from Samsung Galaxy S 2 (80GB)
the only thing we can do x7 is hope that someone on here will know a fix for this volume issue.
I took a look in android market but I havent found anythink
I checked too, but could not find anything. The only one i have seen whilst searching on google, is Button Remapper. But there is no information to say that this app is safe for the SGS2.
Anyone? Help!
x7nofate mate, pls ignore the replies. I feel like such a twat now . It looks like AJ.Rockwell was right...i never properly tried the recommended app and was too quick to ignore it's features.
Download "Volume Control +" from android market and install it.
Once installed, set the volume for all the media/ring/notifications. Then simply goto the options where it allows you to lock each individual type of tone. So for example if you don't want to decrease your ringtone volume by accident, then select that.
Save your settings and you should have a little lock icon in your status bar.
Now when you put your volume for your ringtone down, it looks like its gone down again, right???? WRONG! Since Volume Control+ has locked it down, VC+ automatically forces it back to the "locked" settings. Genius!
Let me know how you get on mate!
PS: If you need any help or just wanna chat android, then PM me ur email and i'll add you to msn/yahoo/skype or whatever you use.
I installed a "Volume Control +" ages ago and I locked in settings but I can put my volume ringtone down anyway so I thought that it doesn't work but I was wrong. It works, thank you very much
Bump! I searched XDA on Google for this exact thread, my problem too. My question is, with that apps reccommendation (thanks for that), does it still bring up the volume OSD? That's my major annoyance, and something that happens to people whenever I pass my phone over to them.

I haven't tried headphones yet. I'm surprised that this problem isn't more discussed in MiniCM9-3.0.4 thread..
It is a known bug, the audio lib have to be remade. It will be fixed in the coming release if nAa gets them working
TIP: Initially the volume during call is already high, if u press the volume up/down button during a call ul get dropped to a low volume n u can hardly hear anything. So avoid pressing the volume buttons during a call. If u did just reboot the volume during call be normal again. I hope that gives u a temp fix

It is discussed at length, it just isn't in the faq yet, but you can press volume-down to get more volume when you're in a call. I know it doesn't make sense, but the working of the volume buttons is actually reversed, so pressing volume-down will increase the volume, and pressing volume-up will decrease it.

Guys CM ROMs have that bug! man ive lost count how many times ive said this! but all the CM ROM have the low in call volume problem! Try this when in call press Vol down then up it will be audiable again!
Solved
Flash the .72 baseband. It is better than .77
If u r still facing the issue then i must tell u that everyrom based on CM has that problem.
If u want even more then when u r in a call
i)press the loudspeaker button and then turn it off
ii) press the vol - and then press the vol +
this 2 always does it for me.
Press thanks if helped
no point on it
The In-Call Volume on Xperia Ray is VERY low both in Ear Speaker and Loud Speaker. It is very difficult to hear the other person if your hearing is not perfect. It is a horrible situation and no fix in sight! But if I find something I will post it. I hope someone can help.
Music etc on loudspeaker works fine. So far the solutions posted, loudspeaker on then off, then volume - then + are impractical.
Using baseband 86 (latest) on Xperia Ray Gingerbread. ICS had the same issue, and was completely unstable for this phone, Xperia Ray. This problem is in Stock Sony Firmware.

[Q] Headset button

Just got my new Z2, very nice phone.
But it is unable to properly work with my headset.
It's an Fischer, with one button. This button does not play or pause my music (as it's supposed to do on my previous androids).
On the Z2 it is only able to change the volume up.
With Keytest I'm able to see its being detected as volume up.
Is this possible to change this without using root?

Sorry to revive an old thread, but is this a regular "feature" of the z2?
I tried regular 3-button android phones (samsung s4 and a adidas one) and in both the volume buttons work fine, but the call - play/pause button works as volume up. I also tried a couple of iphone compatible phones: in those the volume keys don't work but the call - play/pause works fine.
Is this an issue/defect/problem with my phone or all z2 have this problem?
Root?
I also have the same problem. Assuming that my phone is rooted, how do I change it?
Thanks!

Try this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2363957
It is a stock feature of Z devices I guess, but with stock headset. I can't tell for sure as I'm using Apollo modded by myself that supports double press to skip track and triple press to previous song so I'm not sure

It might be related with the 4 tips connector used for the noise cancelling headphone. Sucks. But thanks for the link. It could be really helpful for someone with root.

Noise cancelling headphones have 5 tips connector. The one with buttons have 4 tips. almost any device supports 4 tips jack connectors.
