Don't think you can do it by an app, but cover the light sensor (just above the screen) with something
You need to turn off automatic brightness regulation.

Hello, I have a problem. In my Rose, when I open every application after few seconds the screen back to the begin screen, so while I'm surfing, if I don't touch any key, I see the screen that turns into the home screen...Why?
Thanks

try to set from the beginning the option that automatically locks your keypad when your phone becomes idle(settings-key lock)..and the option that turns the backlight off when phone is idle(settings-power-power management).
p.s. I'm not sure about the exact location of the settings since I don't have the phone any more...I'm telling you the location approximately...

Hi
Since there is yet again no notification LED on the SGS2 i was wondering if a Button Backlight Notification like for the original SGS is in the works.
thank you
NoLed already works
I think OP asked for a Button Backlight Notification, not a screen LED notification. If there were application which could allow to glow the touch sensitive buttons (Menu & Back) then it would be great.

NoLed has such an option. Besides, it's not important since the app has an option to shut the display off when the proximity sensor feels something close by (like when the phone is in a pocket or bag).

Oops! Didn't find that option, can you please tell me where it is? And also is there a way to turn the screen LED notification Off?
It's under 'Battery saving features', there's a check box for Dismiss with Proximity Sensor.

Thanks, but if I check that box only the screen goes off with a small red box moving on the screen but the Touch sensitive buttons are not glowing!

Yeah, I meant the second bit (about turning the display off in your pocket or whatever) and even then I think I meant the check box below, sorry - feeling a bit scrambled today.
I'm after something that will light up the touch buttons too

Hmm.......
I've looked that up but I can't find this feature. It looks like I've mixed things up with some forum posts, like: http://forum.xda-developers.com/archive/index.php/t-730692-p-10.html
"The Menu and Back capacitive buttons also light up with screen notification. This has increased battery drain significantly."

Actually the option is "Proximity Sensor" just bellow "Dismiss with Proximity Sensor".
Is there any way to disable/alter the settings for the capacitive touch buttons on the S6 Edge? There's no option on the display menu to change this.
No setting but if you go to power saving mode, they will be disabled automatically. By disable, I mean no light.
Fix for this issue
Hi, the fix is described here (without power saving mode): http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=60009456&postcount=12
ATT User here, in settings Under Quick Settings, click Display and youll see Touch Key Light Duration
Touch key lights not working
Hi, I have the S6 Edge. The touch key lights are not working at all. In Settings I have the Touch Key Light duration set to "Always On". Power Saving Mode is off, but they still won't come on. The keys do blink briefly during startup, so I do know they physically work. Any ideas? Thanks

Did you have any luck?
I am facing the same problem in my Redmi K20 pro.
I have this weird issue that my phone's display goes yellow and flickers a lot when I open it using power button or hard press home button but if always on display is set to ON the display turns on normally without any issue howsoever I open it either by the home button or any other way
and even after the call as the proximity sensor turns the display black the problem starts again as soon as the call ends, so please someone could help me is it a software issue or hardware? I'm on latest stable android one.
I have the same issue, technicians have advice me to change the screen

Yes a temporary solution is to turn on AOD and then single tap the screen, after that press the power button to avoid the yellow flicker or complete black screen.
