Astro wont find it. You will have to use something like Root Explorer, or, ADB.

Ok.. I have deleted the file and rebooted in recovery and installed custom market. After install I did a clear cache in Apps...
But I still have the stock market.. ?

Along with clear cache in apps, Go to Recovery, and Clear Cache there, and, also Clear Dalvik Cache under Advanced.

I realy did all that..
Please someone write a full a-z on how to..?

Ok, one more method:
Visit this thread:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=831782
Flash Symp.Market.Remover.v2.zip , Reboot, make sure that after rebooting, you don't have market on your Wildfire, no shortcuts, anything.
Then again, in recovery, to be on the safer side, clear cache and dalvik cache.
Then Flash Symp.Green.market.v7.2.1.zip , and, CM6-Market.fix.zip in Recovery. Reboot, and clear Market Cache from Settings > Applications.
It should work, if it doesn't, Sorry about it, I am out of ideas. :/

Using omega rom , I have tried your suggested method before also. Still doesn't solve the issue.
Then backup play store and uninstall it, both can be done with "root uninstaller",wipe cache and dalvik in recovery and restore play store,no data must be restored that's why i recommend "root uninstaller".best way is to copy play store from system/app with a file explorer to sdcard uninstall it and do the above, when booted push back play store to system/app folder and reboot

Insufficient Storage Available

hi:
i use [ROM] UNOFFICIAL CM9 with working camera prev9
i know this h/b asked many times and i searched for an answer::
an app stopped working.. cleared cache from settings--no change..
reboot, cleared cache and delvik.. tried fix permissions also--no change..
uninstalled app / reinstalled app-- got error "Insufficient Storage Available"
looked for any ".com" references to the app--didnt see any
i have 219mb used and 1.3GB free internal storage ..
i also dont see setting to install to SD by default, just in case that would help..
i havent tried to install anything while on this latest prev9, i doubt thats the problem tho..
thanx for any help
You have to delete the .odex file related to that app usually in /system/app if not I'm pretty sure you can delete.odex files using Lucky Patcher

i uninstalled app, then looked for a related .odex file but found none
tahnx
Are you using something like root explorer? It may be in /data/app but I'm pretty sure the file manager had to be root enabled. You remember how sometimes in Windows you uninstall a program but the shortcut and folder are still there? You have to manually go in and delete those files yourself? That's giving you that insufficient storage issue. If all else fails, full wipe out wipe of system will put you clean again.

k, i did what you sugg'd:: did find a related odex and deleted it..
reinstalled from google play .. gave me the"unfortunately...has stopped" error..the same as my original prob that started my insufficient space error..
i guess im beat..
i ll probly have to wipe out and reinstall ..
i thought for sure a restore from nandroid wouldve helped tho..
thanx..

After you delete the .odex, just to be certain the app is restored to the pre-odex state, in Lucky Patcher > Long press troublesome app > Remove ODEX with Changes! (restore application).
Then, go into system/settings/applications/all applications/Google Play Store and hit 'clear data'. Reboot into Recovery > Wipe dalvik & cache (a tad redundant, I know), reboot into system.
If this fails, after clearing caches, try re-flashing Gapps.

thanx for the reply.
i did fresh install including prev9.. i now do nandroid backup of that clean, naked install -- nothing else installed..
i will do a nandroid restore of a previously working backup and try all you
suggest..
i dont know if there is more current version of gapps than "gapps-ics-20120429-signed.zip", but i ll find out find what i need
thanx again

I stumbled across an application that should rectify your issue:
Amaze Memory Clear
Give it a shot if you are still having that issue. Report back, too - I'm kinda curious, myself.
that extra step you took was really great of you.. i will try it..
EDIT::
i found an obscure workaround for my original prob.. install ol file manager.. dont have to change anything.. just have it installed..
it did fix the stopped working problem..
so i reverted to my nandroid prev9 backup , installed ol file manager on this backup and everything works as before..
i did installed your memory clear app and it found quite a bit of space after i cleared apps cache and recovery mode cache and delvik..
so altho i dont know if it wouldve fixed my original prob, i do know it frees up alot of space...
really , i would bet against it fixing that prob cuz i had alot of space .... i didnt have much installed..
thanx for the tip

[Q] SMS/MMS app crashing at launch

Hello,
I wanted to install that MMS mod fix and now my SMS/MMS app is ****ed up, everytime I open it, it won't start and crashes right after. I'm running stock 4.1.1 DLIH. Does anyone have the stock SMS/MMS files that could fix it ?
Here's a link to the zip I've installed : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=33367197&postcount=45
Thanks for your help.
Hi,
1. Have you uninstalled the apk mod?
2. Have you tried a full wipe?
3. In case nothing works, try to flash the stock rom again via odin
Cheers
Hey, thanks for your time.
1) How can I uninstall the APK (I'm noob in Android, I come from Windows Phone..) ?
2) If I do a wipe, will I lose everything ? And to proceed, do I have to enter CWM then "do a wipe/cache" ?
3) I'll do that if nothing can fix it.
Thanks for your help.

If you do a data wipe, you will lose everything. Let's try just the wipe cache and wipe dalvik, don't do the data wipe to preserve your apps and configs. If I doesn't work, try the data/cache/dalvik wipe. You are right, just enter on CWM to perform cache and dalvik wipe.
3) I'll do that if nothing can fix it.

Yes, lets hope for the best, maybe it wont be necessary. Good luck! If you need help on step 3, just say it.
Just checked and the APK isn't in the list. There is no way to have a *.zip with the stock files I could install to fix my problem ?

hum... Unfortunately I don't know the answer for this. You can try a search on xda forum and google.
I would try a search, if no success, I would try step 2 (wipe cache and dalvik) and if nothing works, step 3.
Good luck!
Cheers
This mod is probably made for deodexed rom
You run a rooted stock rom which is probably odex
So:
-use root explorer (or similar app) and move secmms.odex file from /system/app to your SDcard (internal or external) as backup
-restart in CWM
-wipe cache
-wipe dalvik cache
-restart your phone
-check if you still have your issue

Happened to me once: the app disappeared from dock
Check if the app is still in the app drawer.
If it is still there, then just move it back to dock

Sadly it's not here...
Problem solved thanks to Mopral who managed to extract SecMMS.apk and SecMMS.odex from a stock DDLIH and send them to me.

I had the same error and it has been around for a while....and there are many reported fixes and they all are reported to work at least some of the time...hopefully it will fix before you reach solution 5:
1. Clear the cache for google play and google services (didn't work for me)
2. Clear cache and dalvik cache from Recovery (didn't work for me).
3. Delete your google account, then clear cache and dalvik cache from Recovery (worked for me!)
4a. Reflash the ROM, reinstall gapps, clear cache and dalvik cache.
4b. Restore a nandroid back up from when Update and Install were working
5. Factory reset and reinstall everything.
6. Can I interest you in a shiny new device......
Almost forgot....If you are using something one of the app2sd apps that has it's own partition on your sdcard you need to make sure that there is still room in that partition.

no. 3 works sometimes.
Also, my ROM is deodex-ed so there is no .odex under data/app.

Did you checked, I have deodexed but Lucky Patcher can create odex file in data/app, so some other ap maybe create it.
Thread moved. Please post all questions here in Q|&A in future where they belong. Remember asking for help is still asking a question.

[Q]

someone told me, is should post here
hej
i killed the live wallpaper files a long time ago.
now i like to test the weather pro live wp.
can someone tell me, which files i need?
(i can´t simpy install the live wallpaper picker. the system always shows: "app not installed")
Use root file browser to push to system/app and set permissions
i gave all permissions to the apk in the system.
"app not installed" after the installation-prozedure
Have you got the right app for your Rom?
i took the original
secLiveWallpapersPicker.apk
4.1.2 on s3
which i saved before i killed them
And are you still on that same version of jb?
i didn`t change anything till this time

did you reboot your phone after changing the permission ?
the permissions were already there
do i copy it into the system?
or install it from another place?
You just put it in /system/app

You do not install it from there, or from anywhere else. You just put it there, check permissions and reboot. Done.
thats the way i tried it
there is a *.odex datei.
do i have to copy it back too?
what about the "special" permissions?
Is your ROM odexed or de-odexed?
i never did something this way.
its the original 4.1.2 without branding.
flashed with odin.
rooted

It's odexed then, so yes you will also need the .odex from your donor rom
Sometimes it is just easier to flash a pre-rooted ROM version via recovery.
i still can´t use live wallpapers.
when i klick on my background -> background
then there is just
1) galerie
2) quick pic background
If you are on stock Rom, re-flash it with mobile Odin without wiping data
After copy try to clear cache and dalvik-cache in the recovery.

it still doesnt work.
if i flash again: will my confugurations be gone with the wind?
in my recovery is no option to wipe dalvuk.
titanium says there is nothing to clear,
so how can i wipe dalvik?
Dalvik wipe is in the advanced menu of CWM based recoveries.
However, your ROM is odexed so /system/apps don't have dalvik-cache anyway, so it wont help.
Flashing a de-odexed, pre-rooted ROM, if its a same version (4.1.2 etc) should not have any negative effect on your config
