Hello guys and gals,
Yesterday I sold all 3 EVOS from my Sprint line and ditched Sprint all together. Now I am on Virgin Mobile with the LG Optimus V. I have been researching the Optimus One P500 forums and there seems to be some conflicting information as far as rooting is concerned and I wanted to make sure I get this right.
Here is the information regarding my Optimus V:
Model Number - VM670
Android Version - 2.2.1
Baseband Version - VM670ZV4_60401001
Kernel Version - 2.6.32.9 [email protected] #4
Build Number - FRG83
SW Version - VM670Z4
HW Version - 1.2
Going by the information I provided above, what would be the route to take in order to root my phone?
Thanks people! Yes, I know about the search function, but it sort of leads me everywhere with conflicting information and I don't want to screw this up. THANKS AGAIN!
Firstly - Virgin Mobile is a subsidiary of Sprint - so you are still on Sprint
I think the best way to do it is with SuperOneclick. I tried to use z4root, and it didn't work for me with the Optimus V. (Some said that it works with the S, but I've yet to see someone have success with the V).
Since I'm a new user I'm not able to include a link, but google "optimus v root site:androidcentral.com". The first hit will be a post by RevolutionRed named "[How-To] Root the LG Optimus V" in the forum section. I followed those steps without a problem.
*note that I used SuperOneClick 1.7, which was more recent than what they suggested.

This Android 2.2 phone need someone that root the firmware
And I hope that someone can make flash 10.1 works on this phone...
LG blocks flash player on this Android 2.2... nothing with flash works (flash-lite not present and installation of flash player 10.1 blocked, from market and manually from file)
HELP
Flash installation is blocked because the processor isn't supported.
You have an ARMv6 and the flash plugin requires ARMv7.
check this http://www.appbrain.com/app/skyfire-browser-(beta)/com.skyfire.browser
We definitely need section for this phone - because this is LG Optimus One P500 and not LG Optimus GT540 (which already has its own section). LG Optimus One P500 is new phone which was released appx in 10/2010.
+1 for the section
+2 for section with a subsection for the AMERICAN version OPTIMUS S (SPRINT) / OPTIMUS T (tmobile) OPTIMUS V (verizon)
+3 for the section.
+4 for the section!
no news for Flash Lite on Optimus One?
Root is possible now, search in thread "[APP]SuperOneClick v1.5.3 (Root, Unroot, Enable Non-Market App, Get UNLOCK code)" - i posted guide there how to do that.
I think that Flash will not be possible, because it is only for devices with hardware (processor) support for that.
Optimus One uses older (cheaper) architecture, which not allow that.
But still you can use SkyFire browser, which can run Flash without support in hardware (but it is slower).
+5 for the section!
Summary
SuperOneClick v1.5.3 can root the Optimus One just fine.
But it fails to install Superuser for me.
So have to install superuser manually.
+6 for new section too
please add LG P500 forum!

Hello, I currently have two atrix's and need some help, as all the information I'm seeing on here is vastly different then when i rooted my first atrix all the way back in april.
So with the first phone its been rooted and has gingerblur rom on it.
android ver. is 2.2.1 (though the creator claims it is 2.2.2)
kernel ver is 2.6.32.9
Build number is 1.5.7 (I read there have been issues with this that im not understanding right now)
As to what it had before the root I honestly do not recall. Nor do i recall what I used to root it, but it was with a guide on this forum.
The second phone that I need to root has
android 2.2.2
kernel ver 1.6.32.9
Build number is 1.8.3 (again I'm confused as to what this means)
Any answers would be very helpful and appreciated. I do not want to brick either of these phones. I've done thing like this many times, but I've never come across something concerning a build number. So I want to be perfectly sure first. Thank you.
probably you should start from swift's noob guide first. things changed a lot since last april.
I have a To Root my LG Optimus S LS670, its a plain one.
Here's my information:
Model Number: LS670
Android Version: 2.3.3
Baseband Version: LS670MVJ_6150
How do I root it?
It's been upgraded by LG already to 2.3.3, and I can't find anyway to root it.
SuperOneClick, GingerBreak or this.
Luck!!
I have this phone and gingerbreak worked then the next week the phone updated and i cannot get it to root now.
hheeeelllppppppp!!
Yea I can't get this phone to root when it's been updated to the LS670MVJ baseband every root method I can find is for the older baseband versions

This thread should help, I had to downgrade to ZVH using stock recovery, then use the optiauto CLI tool to root and install Xionia CWMA recovery. Root, radio and gingerbread works, but radio flashed with a Froyo downgrade is not legacy compatible with ZVJ. It's worth noting that while CM7.2 or 9 can be flashed from Xionia, you shouldn't do this before having all necessary files/drivers from the froyo, gingerbread and cm9 images, and CM9 flashed LS670s cannot be activated on Sprint.

I cannot go into too much detail since I spent hours on it and forgot and renamed a lot of stuff.

Hey, so I just got an LS670 (LG Optimus S) from a friend to replace my current phone. Not sure how it will go since I have an old SERO account.
Anyways, I had some time off and would recommend to you update flashing your baseband to ZVH. Turn on usb debugging from the applications/development from settings and use stay awake option.Use Sons Of Korhal 1.0.1 to root it. Update to ZVJ using its appropriate update.zip. Then use OptiAuto (aka OptiAuto-sfx) if its the new enough version will allow you to root the zvj baseband. Some of these files are hard to find, took me 3 hours total in trial and error.
This page helped a lot: forums.androidcentral.com/lg-optimus-s-rooting-roms-hacks/119130-how-manual-rooting-ls670zvh-zvj-links-root-zvd-zv9.html
and this one: forums.androidcentral.com/lg-optimus-s-rooting-roms-hacks/131297-how-rooting-ls670zvd-zvh-100-automated-zvj-automated.html
optiauto for windows might be this one, you'll need it: mediafire.com/download/dsblck8764079q0/optiauto-sfx.exe

Dropped my hd2 at work, looked for a replacement phone at fry's Electronics
came across an Unbranded Carrier-Unlocked Atrix 4g said i want it.so i bought it.
I've searched high and low for resources to help me:
Root
flash recovery
flash rom.
At the moment I've managed to root using
superoneclick.
i keep reading about possibly bricking this phone,
which is why i wont continue on my own.
I'm looking for instructions,links, or how-to's.
I have looked at the stickies,
and its a cluster of confusion that doesn't help me what so ever.

Hi there, have a look here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1302423
I have an AT&T Atrix and this is the unlock/recovery I used and I'm still smiling
I know that it can be bricked, but I don't think many people do just take your time and read through (twice if you need to) and follow the instructions. I cant remember exactly what happened but I was scared at one stage but I carried on and all's well :good:
My Atrix isn't carrier branded, therefore I'm not sure what'd work for you will work for me.
I had already looked at that post, it offered no insight into my dilemma.
It doesn't specifically say it works on ALL atrix 4g variants which is why I'm seeking verification.
There are really only 3 variants of Atrix. And yes, this works on all of them that have an unlockable bootloader, regardless of the variant or firmware version.
Any such modification always carries with it certain risk though, so as always, do it at your own risk. What is already offered on the forum is pretty much all you are going to get, if you still don't feel comfortable with doing it, it's probably best if you leave it alone.
Patience appreciated. I have an L45C LG phone cdma with net10. I'm trying to root it because the phone company crippled the settings section of the 2.3.4 android operating system PREVENTING the user to change the time. (mine is set to 1980! not kidding - which makes running apps almost impossible). I do not want to activate the phone just to use it as a wifi device.
I found this thread here on how to root - but I'm confused on HOW to actually replace/install a non-LG version of android 2.3.4.
1) Where do I download a "clean" or uncrippled version of gingerbread 2.3.4 which would work with my phone? Thanks for help.
