[Q] fully working camera with custom kernal

why is it that i can't find any roms that have both a custom kernal and a fully working camera. Also, why do none of the new roms (since 2.3.3) have custom kernals?

custom kernel require a module to be compiled against the existing kernel and hence people are not able to provide custom kernel till we get source code from SE.

[Q] .loop support? which kernels?

I wasn't able to find any posts on this using search (well found some but no answers), are there any kernels for the fascinate with. Loop support?
I am aware that the stock kernel should support it, but stock =fail.
Preferably if anyone knows of AOSP kernels that support it or any froyo kernels?
Thank you!

cifs.ko for ATT stock ROM?

I tried a few cifs.ko for non-ATT SGS2 but they were not working.
Has anyone got the cifs working for ATT SGS2? As far as I can tell, entrophy ROM is the only one that has built-in support for cifs.

Which ROM to use for kernel development?

Has anyone tried installing custom kernel modules on the viewpad 7? I'm likely to need to do this inthe future, and was wondering if it had any bearing on my selection of ROM. Has anyone done this for the default kernel, or will I need one I can compile myself?
Thanks!

CIFS on any AOSP kernel?

Does anyone know if any of the AOSP kernels compatible with the Verizon Galaxy Note II have CIFS support? I tried the included "Trinity Carbon" kernel included with PACman to no avail.
I suppose I am spoiled by the audio, screen, and general functionality of the Perseus kernel.
self bump! I wanted to try this kernel. However, the download link is broken.

It is kindof funny, I'm used to having AOSP kernels that support CIFS, as opposed to stock-based kernels with CIFS support.
