HONEYCOMB Lockscreen for Legend Nightlies
As many of you have probably noticed, XDA member bizdady has been making Honeycomb lockscreens for CM7 RCs and Nightlies for various devices.
Unfortunately, the Legend was not supported... Until now!
After following the instructions below, a honeycomb themed lockscreen will completely replace the "style options" for the CM7 lockscreen including "Sliding Tab", "Rotary", "Rotary revamped", and "Lense".

PRE-REQUISITES
A rooted Legend
Make sure you're running either CM7 Nightly #12 OR #13
INSTRUCTIONS
Make a backup!
Download the applicable attached zip and flash like a normal ROM.
Go here to thank/donate to bizdady.
Enjoy!
NOTES
ONLY LISTED NIGHTLY BUILDS ARE SUPPORTED! Please check the pre-requisites to verify which nightly you'll need to be running.
These instructions are for S-ON users. S-OFF users can go to the original post here and use metamorph.
Future nightlies will be supported - but NOT every single one!
The attached zip is purely the work of bizdady.
I will not answer questions about how to reverse/change the modification so please run a backup or see the second comment below.
UPDATES

To go back to normal you can always reflash your current nightly rom. That will overwrite the modded framework and put everything back to stock.
^ er..flashing a copy or backup of the original cm7 b12 framework-res.apk & Clockopia.ttf will do the job instead of flashing the rom again. works for me, at least
i'm on 140lcd w/ the settings below. swiping from right to left opens either my messaging app or the vibrate option.
however, shouldn't i be getting buttons on the right portion like the one on the left below?

The icons are setup for rotary style so only an unlock icon in middle shows. If you set it to sliders will have invincible icons for sound/text.
Sent from my Evo 4G CM7 nightly machine!
^ cool, man! thought i was missing something. hope you could do another version w/ buttons/icons for both txt and sound. i'm more inclined to use the sliders as the rotary thingies don't look good on my modded screen. anyway, thanks again...
New msg indictors for sms & email r my biggest intrest 4 lockscreen.
thanks great work but i have a problem
i have rom cm7 but if i flash the zip with rom manager, does not start after reboot
where i wrong?
rename the zip?
thanks all
Two questions:
1) Do you mean the phone won't start at all, or you just have to press the power button yourself?
2) Which nightly are you on?
If you experience problems, I recommend returning to your backup.
Strange behaviour on new nightlies
I am having an issue with the Honeycomb lockscreen on the latest CM7 nightlies.
When I flash the lockscreen, the device and all functions work properly but the menus and dialog screens are messed up with incorrect (and often funny) text.
The affected ones I have noticed are:
- Damaged SD Card (although if you open File Manager the SD card works just fine)
- USB connection dialog from status bar (gives an error message but it actually works if you click on it)
- Long-press power button menu (Silent Mode, Airplane Mode, Profile, Reboot, Power Off)- the text goes all funny and when you click one of the menu items you get an even funnier dialog box but in the end it works the way it should (if you remember where to click)
The above all happens after I flash the lockscreen to the newer CM7 nightlies (tries with 25, 26, 27, 28) and when I re-flash the ROM (i.e. override the lockscreen) everything goes back to normal (fixed)

As it says in the OP, this lockscreen only works on Nightly 12 & 13. You'll also notice that the zips are clearly labeled 12 & 13.
I'll ask the original developer for 28, but I didn't want to keep bothering him with requests for every single nightly.
I am aware of that but I kept trying the lockscreen with newer builds (after 12 and 13 and into the early 20s for experimentation sake) and it was working fine with no issue at all until build #25 and that's why I felt the need to report it now
Fair enough, but I can't guarantee it'll work beyond 12 and 13 right now. I also don't have the expertise to fix myself since I'm not the original developer. Hopefully we'll have one for 28 from the dev at some point.

Will that work on a stable release as well?
^ i don't think so
OP, can you provide just the png's for the messaging & vibrate icons that would match the ones provided on this mod? it would surely be awesome! i'm no good with graphics stuff
what a terrific job thank you

I've modified froyo framework to add soft buttons (back and menu) on the status bar. But there are some screen artifacts on the lock screen with my mod. I'm thinking it could be due to a difference in the froyo source code i used. Does nookie froyo has a git repo anywhere? Turns out I forgot to copy over 1 of the jar files. Remount your froyo /system partition rw, and unzip the attached framework.zip, copy the files into /system/framework, reboot and enjoy

link to the source code patch for those interested.
There is a NookieDev's project on GitHub: http://github.com/NookieDevs/
But there are also several people working on their on forks of the repositories:
https://github.com/cicada/
https://github.com/fat-tire/
Nice work on the interface buttons I was hoping someone would start working on something like this. I've seen similar buttons on the GTab (TnT) releases and I was wondering what it would take to put those into Froyo (or some other build )
Edit: A picture of what I'm talking about:
Do the buttons work just like shown or do you have to drag the notification bar down to use them? Are you going to post instructions how to accomplish this?
Can you share your code? I've tried to put all 4 buttons in the bottom ala archos 101 with no success. Cant wait for the honeycomb open source code
Nook Color via Xda App
This is great! Is there any way to move it to the bottom, too?

I can't see froyo source code on any of the git repo above. Admittedly my git-fu is weak If I've mistaken about github and indeed froyo source is available in one of the repos above, let me know!

Currently there are some screen artifacts (an extra plus button, and when you drag to unlock, the target dot is replaced by another image) on the lock screen. I'd like to sort this out before posting the compiled jar/apk and source.

That's my idea too. i think B&N got this right. With a tablet form factor, it's definitely more convenient to have the buttons at the bottom rather than top. Google is going with this direction in honeycomb as well. I'm still trying to figure out how to do this in froyo though.
The nook color is my first android device so I'm not sure if this repo is for froyo (I read it was, but it was in a bit of an older post) or gingerbread but here it is.
https://github.com/android/following
Based on the dates of items added I believe it is froyo though.
Also, looking very much towards your release of this. It may re-enable the use of my volume buttons as volume buttons
Yes - this looks great. I spent some time trying to work on gesture based system-wide back menu functionality (like how in several popular ereaders you drag your finger down the left side of the screen to change brightness - or swiping left on the Bn eclaire status performs the back function) But your solution is quite elegant and I can't wait for you to release it. I think I migh wear out my remapped hard volume keys...
shameless self bump I've attached my framework mod in the 1st post. Everything should be working now.
I installed in fine, and it ran beautifully.
However, ever since I installed it, I started getting FCs in the Browser and some other apps like TweetDeck. I cleared cache, dalvik as well, still no go.
FWIW The same issue occurs when I apply the no network bars mod as well.
Good job however!
Could you explain a little bit more about how you did this, or post source code?
This is huge. Thanks for doing this.
This is great work, but I've gotten too addicted to having vol up and down be my menu and back buttons Also, you might wanna consider moving those buttons in towards the middle as we know how badly the NC's touchscreen works at the corners.
God, you GOTTA love Android and how infinitely modifiable/enhanceable it is.
Can you fix the width of the notification drawer or give me some instruction on how to do it?

Correct me if im wrong, but since it is on an sdcard can't you just load the system partition (im 99% sure you can in ubuntu) and just swap it out with your old frameworks on your mac? (you did back up the older version right? if not Im sure someone can post it for you)

I have the exact same issue. Stuck on the android screen. Copied files to /system/framework using root explorer on a dual-boot emmc setup. Stock boot still works, but froyo boot is borked.

DISCLAIMER:
If you hold me responsible for bricking your device, I will laugh hysterically.
I found this while searching for the perfect, fastest, most stable AOSP-based ROM with exceptional battery life and thought I'd share with the XDA community. I will update this as they come (until I get the Sensation or Sensation XE ).
Although a majority of the N1er's will stick with CM, MIUI or SENSE, this is here for the barebone lovers.
MAIN FEATURES:
SuperUser and busybox pre-loaded ("rooted")
ClockworkMod recovery and nandroid backup/restore image
Automatic notification and secure, over-the-air downloads of system updates
Trackball wake setting (for Nexus One phones with broken power buttons)
Option to link media/music volume with ringer volume system-wide for simplified control
Native screenshot capability through the globally-accessible power menu.
Ability to reboot, reboot to bootloader, and reboot to recovery from global power menu
Large list of preset APN configurations for most GSM networks
Ability to use SIP over non-WiFi connections
Ability to hide failed unlock patterns on pattern lock screen, for added security
"Copy all" shortcut from long-press menu on any text field
Global setting to always silence camera shutter sounds
Alarm Clock App: Option to speak the time when pressing snooze, and use a large snooze button
Camera App: Ability to use physical volume keys as a shutter button.
MMS/SMS App: Settings for dark background and font sizes
MMS/SMS App: Customizable number of vibration iterations
Web Browser: Ability to change user agent and an increased number of maximum windows
Web Browser: Ability to use DuckDuckGo for secure web searching
REQUIREMENTS:
- Radio version 5.08 (This is due to the fact that this was the latest version officially released to ALL N1's. The developer doesn't want to take any chances risking stability.)
INSTALLATION:
I used the fastboot method, but I believe you can use nandroid and CWM Recovery as well.
Code:
fastboot oem unlock
^THIS UNLOCKS YOUR BOOTLOADER, YOUR WARRANTY WILL BE VOID
Code:
fastboot -w update /path/to/blandroid.zip
^THIS WIPES ALL YOUR DATA (except SDcard)
Your phone will reboot when completed. Remember to flash the Google apps and any kernel you prefer. If you are using AmonRA you will have to re-flash your recovery as the fastboot method restores a clockwork recovery.

Thanks for your work and always appreciate ongoing rom development.
How does this rom compare to other ASOP roms like Oxygen which is pretty vanilla too? Can we use pershoot's new kernel on this?
Thanks
Very interesting to see indeed. I am getting fed up with lags and FCs with my messaging and dialer and sometimes need my device to run butter smooth. Will try and give review... Features look nice.
Very stock.... Stable as can be. No a2sd and limited kernels for AOSP Roms. If you want a stock Rom, this is one of the very best.
Sent from my Nexus One using XDA App
its basically the most dry vanilla rom with stability the number 1 priority. no crashes/fc's/random reboots..
if youre looking for something fancy, this isnt it.
I cannot flash latest release. Zip is unsigned, and when I turn off verification in Ra 2.2.1 It still doesnt work..

a few comments/notes on installation:
Trackball Wake setting is in Settings->Display
Music app signature not showing update for Google Music in market (ie market version of Music installs alongside bundled Music app)
I use AmonRA, so I reflashed it. Could probably have removed recovery.img from the zip
deleted bootanimation.zip from /system/media
got a Gallery force close.
It's AOSP Android w/ trackball wake, exactly what I wanted for this particular device. Will report back if I notice anything else.
This is fantastic! The only problem I've ran into so far is, I can't seem to adb push anything. As far as I know, I have all the permissions... Looking forward to whatever you do to this next.
This rom doesn't have any a2sd features, right?
Iam always running out of memory..

adb pull /system/framework/framework-res.apk c:/path/etc
OR
use root explorer
then to put it back:
adb push c:/path/etc /system/framework/framework-res.apk
adb shell

i wouldnt advice using root explorer to push the file in.. it can cause a crash because of the permissions
Nice ROM! I was searching for an alternative ROM without the f** DNS-bug (Cyanogenmod-based and much of AOSP roms have it) and this is the only one haven't it.

Have you tried changing the keyboard layout in Settings - System - Device Settings?
It needs a reboot to change the layout at present but that will be addressed in a future version.
How is the compatibility with the Keyboard dock? Not many people seem to be commenting on it, but that's one of the main reasons for me purchasing this device. .
time to update the ROM Directory!

I have a powerful computer but limited Internet connection... it says downloading the kernel will take about an hour!
Here's what has to be done, I think:
First, you need Linux (Windows users: switch now before it's too late!)
Start by getting repo as explained here:
http://source.android.com/source/downloading.html
When it comes to downloading the source itself, run this instead:
repo init -u https://github.com/AOKP-MEDIAPAD/platform_manifest.git -b ics
then run:
repo sync
Then, to build, you have to follow the instructions here:
http://s.android.com/source/initializing.html
And then should be able to build using:
mka
or:
mka otapackage
(makes a flashable zip)
as explained here:
https://github.com/AOKP-MEDIAPAD/vendor_aokp_ics
I haven't done this myself, just what I gather from the instructions on those pages - I tried downloading the source until I realized how big it is.
Hopefully someone who knows can clarify these instructions, post a howto, or much better, make a zip archive for us to flash ))
Can I use a live linux version?
because I use windows
use virtualbox

I am no longer going to make aroma installers. The zip method is very similar and should work whether or not you are flashing modules as long as one of the modules does not mod the framework-res.apk or SystemUIGoogle.apk. Download the zip installer. Unzip it into a folder on your internal sdcard. Find that folder once you are in TWRP.
This what it looks like. Inside those folders are the zips you will flash. Hit the back button in TWRP and go to the next one you want to flash. Continue until you are done then flash complete installation. Nothing is flashed to your system until you flash "complete installation".

The developer of Active edge gave me permission to use his base so that people would not have to make a choice between his and my mods. All credit for this goes to him. You must delete the active edge sense module and use one of my active edge modules. If it doesn't say active edge then it isn't active edge sense compatible. If there is an issue with edge sense after flashing, do not contact edge sense op with issues. He does not troubleshoot modified versions of his mod (and neither do I).
ADB Installer Instructions-Root is required
1. Flash one of the SystemUI Bases First. They provide the necessary smali files and public ID's for everything to work.
2. FLASH ALL THE MODS YOU WANT. ONCE YOU DONE WITH EVERYTHING, FLASH THE "COMPLETE INSTALLATION" Option. This will create a Magisk Manager flashable zip in a folder on your sdcard called ozop. Flash that to install your selection of mods.
Root required
Instructions.
1. Unzip ADB Mods Installer Files.zip on your PC
2. Run TulsadiverModsInstaller.bat (Give ADB Root Permissions)
3. ADB debugging Enabled
4. Flash one of the SystemUI Bases First. They provide the necessary smali files and public ID's for everything to work
5. Go through the other options selecting what all mods you want. It is generally best to start at the top and work your way down.
6. Once finished with selections, run "Complete Installation" at the bottom. This will generate your mymagisk.zip module in a folder called "ozop" on your sdcard.

Yes, you need root. It is possible to install mods via adb but root is still needed.
Hey @Tulsadiver
Great mods!
I'm on the P and I do have some problems.. I'm not much of a tweaks guy, All I want to do, is to get rid of the navbar.
In aroma I do select remove navbar with 3 Titles - the first one - but the clock moves to the right. Anyway to just disable the navbar? And that everything else stays the same?
Thank you!

Use the base "stock like" and your clock should be on the left then select 3 column remove navbar. I'm working on an updated version. Should be out later today or this evening.
Awesome! It works great now!
Anyone tried on DP2??

I will try to root it, and try out the zip after I get home from work later today.. I love the new nav thing lol, but I need to shrink it as it looks way to big for me.. Maybe even disable the whole thing and use some kind of navigation app to get to the menu.
Anyways I'll try it later today and I'll see how it goes!

What steps did you take to get it up and running?
Don't install he has to update the zip will cause bootloops!!!!!
I can confirm that.. you will get the bootloop!
I just hope there is a new .zip in the works! I would really love to reduce the size of the navbar gestures..
