Xrecovery help - Sony Ericsson XPERIA X10 Mini

Hi all..

I have busybox imstalled.
After reboot i try to enter revovery by pressing back button.
Nothing happens.. reboots normal.

Please guide me...

Please...?? Anyone...

check the /system/bin/chargemon file and you will see some entry like event0 (most probably). Change that to event1 (or viceversa).
You need root explorer to mount /system in RW mode or you can do it from command line (terminal emulator or adb shell - root). Once its mounted as RW mode , edit the file and save it.
I have a mini pro , and for me it should be event0 , for you it might be event1.
Once the file is saved , reboot the phone and try to go into xrecovery.

[Q] Help: How install xRecovery and Busybox? (and flash roms)

So I tried installing xRecovery (I think it was .3) on my new mini pro U20i which i rooted with z4root 1.3.0. HOWEVER, the busybox that came with it didn't work so I attempted to install another busybox... and I somehow bricked my phone lol.
The phone is fixed and rooted again but I would really like to get xRecovery working so I can flash roms.
Any help would be really appreciated
P.S. If you have any guides for backing up/flashing roms and partitioning sd cards that would be great!

Did you root with SOC?
No... should I have? Does it include xRecovery? Do you think it would be ok to unroot with z4root and the use SOC. I'm a noob to all this kinda thing Is SOC working with x10 mini pro 2.1 build 2.0.A.0.504?
1. root you device
2. install busybox from market only
3. try automatic installation(the safer way)
4. reboot
5. tap the back button several times
6. enjoy xRecovery

Thanks Tehouster, but busybox isn't available on the market anymore...I've searched and I can't find it. That's why I ended up using an offmarket one before, ultimately bricking my phone lol.
Strange...I found busybox on the pc android market site, but not of my phone's market app?? I tried to install it via the pc site but
it said that my phone was incompatible? Now what?!
The market checks your phone to see there're compatible Apps available for your particular phone/ROM before showing you up the results, and that's why some may not find those particular Apps they're looking for, I sometime make use of Morelocale to search further outside my home region, hope this may help.

here you have a pretty good working guide
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=9818553&postcount=535
he mentions chmodding with adb, but doesnt now the command - it's pretty straight forward
write following in adb shell
Code:
$ su
# mount -o rw,remount -t yaffs2 /dev/block/mtdblock3 /system 3 /system
# chmod 777 system/bin
# exit
$ exit
afterwards push the files downloadet from his post with
Code:
adb push %filepath%\busybox %filepath%\chargemon %filepath%\xrecovery.tar /system/bin
where %filepath% is the path to the folder where you extracted the 3 files
If you have problems with ddms, just write
You can find both on Google. Just be patient an look very well ... I found it.
for busybox, intall titanium backup, and xrecovery you will need to install zhidu's xRecovery mini... i have the same problem before..

X recovery on x10 mini pro

It's my first post and the system tells me to post here!
So i have x10 mini pro update to android 2.1 with SEUS, i rooted with superoneclick, now i want to install Xrecovery...i have the three files:
Xrecovery.tar
chargemon
busybox
I know that i have to copy them to system bin and then reboot, correct?
My questions...
1) I have AndExplorer and I can't change dir attributes..do i need root explorer in order to do this or there's a way also on andExplorer?
2)I have titaniun back up installed and so busybox but it's in the folder \system\xbin not \system\bin, so i have to copy the three files in bin or xbin??
Thanks a lot!!
titanium backup will work. it is xRecovery that will not work with another busybox. check the threads at the x10 mini section. if you can not access xrecovery, try getting the chargemon from the other thread, or if you know how, change event1 to event0 (which i dont know how).
I'm not on a Pro (just a mini) but I have found there are a few Windows apps and scripts to simply install busybox, root, Jit, Xrecovery etc on the mini and pro (single click operation) there is even an .apk for the mini to install Xrecovery..
If you search the threads you will find them.. shouldn't be any reason anyone has trouble with these simple mods.. with all the DEV work gone into making scripts and apps, even my girlfriend could manage it (if she had any interest in modding her Mini)
if you still want to do it the hard way (I guess thats the best way to learn).. Busy box is an important thing to get right, if you have installed it... look in your app drawer and find your installed "busybox" then open the app and click on Install (I don't know why you install it then have to 'install' it within the program but you do) or is it just me?
the 3 files should be in System\bin but you also need to change the permissions before you reboot.... more forum searching required if you want to find out how to do that without Root Explorer... the search feature is your friend and the best way to learn.. good luck.
hope that helps..

i installed root via superoneclock and installed xrecovery via flashtool, but didn't work well, than i installed xrecovery mini and it works great.
i am using an x10mini pro
stipey75
i had some of your problems too
1) Titanium use its own version of busybox. You can use an app called 'root checker' to see if busybox is installed properly
I had to install it, heres's link
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=946259
2) To change permissions i used a free version of root explorer

In this page there's a link an automatic installation of root and xrecovery, why don't you try that?

Rebooted phone, and then the checks got ticked second time round. Now running freex10 2.2 beta 4 from z. Ita amazing.

just install custom rom like.. miniCMpro froyo, it has JIT on/off setting and others.
Where can I find the custom rom?
Sent from my U20i using XDA App
Hey guys,
The easiest way to install root and xrecovery is to download the newest version of flashtool. The newest versions have xrecovery and root for all version of xperia family (x10, x10mini, x10minipro, x8). They should not have any problems rooting or installing xrecovery. I would reinstall the laster fw via SEUS before using it tho.
Cheers,
evilbarcode.

Officially, youre stuck on 2.1
Try uninstalling xrecovery then reinstall. Or just reflash using SEUS and format the whole phone if youre afraid of a boot loop. You gotta reroot and stuff. Custom rom-wise, quite a choice we have.

Owner of post,
Do you have the latest busybox from the market? That helps with the xrecovery installation.
yes i do have most recent busybox
This might sound weird but download "root checker" from market to make sure u have root and busybox. Ur phone be able to install xrecovery if u have the latest busybox and your rooted correctly. Something sounds weird here. Lets make this step a make sure step.
When pressing back button, to activate xrecovery, i press it the second i see the sony ericsson logo and i keep pressing till i see it boot to xreovery.
when u installed xrecovery through the Apk. From the forums of xda, did u press the new xrecovery button in your apps and follow the directions from there?
I hope this helps.

[Q] Problem!! Unable to install BusyBox!!

Hi Guys!! I've got a problem installing BusyBox here!!
I searched for the problem on google, but didn't find anything helpful, so thought someone can help here.............
The point was to get V6 Supercharger script running, which requires BusyBox. I already had BusyBox V. 1.19.2 installed, but as Zeppellin has described, versions above 1.18.2 could've caused problems, so I decided to install V1.18.2, via BusyBox app(by stericson) on market. It was unsuccessful to do the job, so i tried it with another app- BusyBox installer(by JRummy), but now this one is unable to detect root access!!!
PLUS, now root apps such as SetCPU, script manager are all getting FCs
I've already confirmed with the root access-- I am getting # sign with SU command.........
Please help someone.......Its all getting really weird!!!!
*EDIT*:- Now Wi-Fi not working too !!!!!---WTF????
You really make all things confusing better to clear data of superuser from settings and then flash older version of superuser and then use jrummy app to install busybox
Edit:Flash kernel again
Update su binary.
