if i run a different launcher like pro or something does moto blurr still run in the backround adding lag or burning battery? Just curious because i use Go launch but i am not sure if it is negatively effecting my phone?

Yes and no. The UI will be gone but the Widgets are still available. To stop blur almost completely load Titanium backup and freeze "home 2.2.1" app I think.it is. Just make sure before you freeze it you have another launcher installed already.

Nice tip! I bought Titanium Backup Pro and froze Home 2.2.1. (after I installing Launcher Pro and setting up). It does seem a bit zippier.
so titatnium backup lets you freeze moto home?

Yep. It basically eliminates blur. If you want you can go a step further and freeze the widgets associated with blur also.

Hi there,
Do anyone know if it's possible to remove the Buttom pop-up bar.
I'd like to use WizzBar, but after installing Wizzbar, I now have the default one and Wizzbar poping up :-(
Sorry but no there is no way to remove it.

I am incorrect, I just noticed a new app.
How do you change the icons on this thing (task manager, calendar, world clock etc)? Surely it's configurable ....

That's terrible Are there any mods or anything to get rid of it, or force changes or something? That's pretty weird that they didn't just make it configurable. What's the thinking behind that?
I am just guessing but I don't believe the "mini" apps on the touchwiz taskbar are like regular apps. Regular apps can't be used in a multitasking way like the touchwiz "mini" apps on the taskbar, which is why you can't place your own apps there. I believe Samsung would have to develope more "mini" apps first.
If you get one of the android launchers from the market like launcher pro or adw ex, they each have docks that you can place your own apps on. On adw ex you can even have the dock rise up and disappear like touchwiz's taskbar.

The pop-up touch wiz/apps bar is just annoying I only ever use it for task manager I wish you could not have it and just have tas man as an app or widget. The bar only over pops up when I accidentaly press it when playing a game. It's totally rubbish since the apps are not configurable.
Samsung take it off and/or make it configurable it's the biggest bug bear I have with Samsung tabs.

Thats really sucks
I know Titanium Backup will re-install all of my apps, but is there anything that will place all of my apps & widgets?? I want to flash an new rom, but not so much of a fan of re-placing all of my apps & widgets on my home screens.
Adw will save your desktop layout, minus widgets.
Don't know about any other launchers, as I have no experience with them

Which launcher is the best?
Unfortunately I don’t believe there’s away to restore widgets without having to manually go back and add them. Launcher Pro is also an excellent home replacement.

It's all personal preference, there are free versions of almost all launchers on the market, try adw, launcherpro, go launcher, etc. have fun

I am running Leedroid v2. I want to use launcher pro but would like to remove the sense, is it safe to uninstall it from titanium backup?

No

Absolutely not. Its a vital part of the framework. Just install Launcher Pro over it, and when you hit the Home button, select it as the default launcher.

HERE is a mod that a dev made that does this. You can then use whichever launcher you want. It works well.

Thanks mate, perfect, will give it a go
Would doing this mod essentially make the phone faster?
Edit: just tried it and didn't really make much of a difference in speed for me. It wasn't noticeable atleast. It seems to just remove sense as a launcher but everything sense is still intact. If you want comeplete senseless your best bet is any asop rom like miui or cm7 alpha.
Removing Sense is highly inadvisable. And a launcher is pretty much just a skin, so sense will still run. Not 100% about this, but uninstalling sense MAY mess with your ability to recover back to it should you choose to unroot. Definitely take the advice above, and try flashing an aosp ROM. They are much quicker anyway
Thanks for your advise guys, unfortunately I am gsm, so as far as I know, there is no aosp ROM available yet, ill just stick with it for now until. IM just used to cyanogenmod with other devices, IM sure our day will come for the gsm guys! Just find sense, abit bulky, and sluggish at times. Also everything that sense provides can be found in apps, on the market (beautiful widgets, widget locker......) cheers

this is untrue. you cannot remove sense totally, however, you can remove many many many of the components associated with it without much problem at all. this also does not affect returning to stock in any way whatsoever.

This also has the issue where you have to unlock to answer a call. I guess if it were a tablet but being it's a phone that would annoy me having to do that every time get a call.
I Remember seeing a Thread with a zip Called DeSensify or something like that, Look for that it May Help?
Every time I enable MiLocker, it ends up becoming secondary to the stock lockscreen, be it Sense or AOSP. Is there any way to fix this?
Freeze the stock lockscreen with titanium. I haven't had problems doing it and it leaves just the lock screens the want to use. I found MiLocker pretty buggy on the Rez though. I use GoLocker.
Sent from HTC Rezound with Tapatalk
It's not an instant thing. Like, it'll be the only lockscreen for a while, but after about an hour or so, the stock lockscreens come back up again.

Give us an example of what you call lag.
Also, have you checked another rezound to verify that your performance is abnormal?
Install cpu usage monitor from play store and place their icons in the task bar. This will help you see if your CPU is maxing out when its supposed to.

I have always had lag with Go Launcher. For GB you can't beat ADW EX or LauncherPro, but for ICS, Nova all the way. I've always had choppiness with Apex.

Alright I'll try nova and launcher pro. But that wouldn't explain the lag in Yeh actual system and such tho like play store and settings.

No it could. Depending on what bg services Go has running. You can't expect a 1.5GHz proc to run 100 different processes and be butter. Like I said, Go was poorly written, but hey, at least its shiny.
Damn. Wouldn't think it would make that big of a difference. Owell. I guess I will be making a switch to launcher pro. Seems to be smoother off the box. Go was always.smooth as butter on my stock rezound. Well when it was stock LOL thanks for the help guys much appreciated!

I wouldn't use LauncherPro if you're running ICS. It was written for GB and hasn't been optimized for ICS yet. The homescreen is really smooth, but the App drawer lags a lot. If you're running ICS use Nova, Trebuchet, or Apex.
Or the new adw, its been rewritten and is really sick
Dude, you always have the worse experiences. Just do yourself a favor and install the stock deoxd global rom.....no lag and battery life will amaze you on STOCK.

try with setcpu or any other program to change the cpu to max and performance
if not helping
try to run antutu see which department is low score
I tried uninstalling system tuner and it didn't make a difference, not going back to stock, cause that's the reason I rooted my phon. Apex is slo, and way too Manu settings in adw. Il try nova and the other one u said. And this Rom AMD kernel I got 8600 something benchmark antutu. Benchmarks don't mean anything but pure raw speed.

On STOCK, you can make your own mods. I am pretty sure you didn't root your phone to acquire bugs and headaches. Besides, stock Rom is the smoothest 3.6 rom I have ever ran. It also has the best battery life I have ever gotten by far...
I just don't like any bugs. Just about every rom out has their share.
Sent from my ADR6425LVW using xda app-developers app
If nova is giving you some lag as it was for me, install Apex launcher 1.2.5. this is the smoothest version of it i have found, the newer updates are much slower. (this is all based of my personal rezound)
im gonaa do an ruu update, then flash eaither slim rom or slim kang, or viral with funky kernel.... call it a day. if it is still slow, i give up and just leaving it.... im tired of doing all this so many times...
