Hi i got a sony ericsson xperial x10a which is a firmware version 1.6 and i want to update the os to 2.1 but I dont know how
I tried using pc companion but it gives me an error saying that "Unable to install or start phone software update components".
i dont know if this helps (i've seen people write this when asking for help) but the number thingy is R2BA020
can someone help me update this or link me steps cause i cant find any at all youtube doesnt help cause all the links they have are dead
Try to restore option in SEUS/PC Companion, and update it from there.
If that doesn't work, try installing

i got flash tool and i watching this tutorial on youtube and the person said i need to download Update service but sony ericssion dosnt provide this software anymore all i can get is pc companion what can i do???

sounds like you got a problem with the usb driver (at least, thats my best guess)
try updating it from another system, laptop, someone elses pc?

this may solve your problem.
try to install Sony Ericsson PC Companion. If i ever need to repair without flashtool for some reason, it tells me that i have the latest software available but the repair option is still available.

p.s. im pretty sure this has been asked before...
You can also flash to an older firmware than what you currently have on the device then use SEUS to repair.

I've broken my Xperia X10 Mini...
I tried to flash it using Flash Tool and firmare E10i_2.1.1.A.0.6_Sony Ericsson.ftf (I read that it work to E10a to )
And everting looks good, but after the process he can Turn On!!
When I push the power button, my cellphone vibrate, but don't appear anithing...
I tried to reinstall using SEUS but he says that there's no longer update avaible and don't show me any option to "install anyway"
Can anybody help me??
Try to find a way to unplug the battery.
I don´t know what the Xperia looks like inside but on the Mini there is a small rubber thing behind the cover that exposes the battery connection.
Have you tried hard reset?
And then SEUS?
Yeah, I tried to reinstall by SEUS...
I have shutdown the Battery and nothing...
Is that Hard Reset is made by Hardware???
I can't find anything about that...

download Sony Ericsson PC Companion 2.0, open it, and click in support zone, then upgrade phone(i don't know what is written but in portuguese it is ''atualizar telefone'') next click repair phone(i don't know this one too, but in portuguese is ''reparar o telefone'')and then just follow the instructions in the screen

I tried this steps but it doesn't work!!
The SEUS says me that "It allready updated" and don't show me any option to reinstall the software...
And the PC Companion 2.0, in the repair screen, after update his database, is returns me a error: "PC Companion Error: Can not install or start the components of phone update"

im actually facing 100% similar problem after flashing 2.1.1.a.0.6 rom.....and nothing appears after.... so what generic rom u used? and please write the steps for me..... i tried installing "Sony Ericsson X10i_2.1.A.435_GLOBAL-GGL GENERIC 1232-9897.ftf" but it gives error while flashing on start...process aborted... because i think the previous rom (2.1.1.a.0.6) was successfully installed... in the end it says to turn on phone and turn on option of debugging but the phone u know wont turn on...!! please help with ur experience

SEUS did not work?
am going mad with my st15i,it got dead i tried to boot in safe mode at that time my fw ver was .377,later i tried to update it using seus, updating was success but phone is still dead
later i tried using wotan server with .42 fw its givig some error at the end like data not recieved at the time of flashing main(my net speed is low will it affect downloading from wotan server)
at last i tried flash tool with .62 fw it says flashing but not ending
hey guys what may be the reason behind bricking and failure in flashing?
i dont know how to install adb driver(already installed usb driver and flash tool driver,in above cases my phone was detected so i there any roll for adb driver)
am noob to android,i even dont know whats boot loader

Wotan server is good if you have rock solid internet.. if your internet always behave inconsistently you need ti use flashtool.

try using the pc companion . connect ur phone to pc and start pc companion go to update section and click on Repair phone. That might do it.

Hi everyone!
So I was trying to update my X10 from a CM7 mod to M&M`S MiUI 2.3.9, but when I tried to flash the kernel necessary for it, Flashtool wouldn't install it due to an error (12/055/2012 14:55:06 - ERROR - ERR_SEVERITY="MAJOR";ERR_CLASS="SECURITY_CLASS";ERR_DYNAMIC="SIN header verification failed").
I didn't think anything of it, and decided to try installing the ROM anyways because I'm retarded. Now my phone won't get past the Sony Ericsson logo when booted, I can't flash anything with Flashtool because it just comes up with that error again, and PC Companion and Update Service won't repair it.
ANY and ALL help will be appreciated. Thank you!

I did that, and it tells me that there is no software available for my phone yet.
So you are doing everything exactly as it says in the guide,and your saying that when you connect the phone in step 8,it hits you with no new software available.
Im asking because
1.Its always worked for me(about 10 times without any problem)
2.People connect their phone too early when using pc companion
If it doesnt help,you can try an earlier version of flashtool
I did it step by step and I'm using version 0.6.7.0 right now because I can't find any links to the newest version. :/
I flashed 'Feralab bulletproof rom v32.1'
Now it's bricked at sony ericson screen.
Flashtool wont detect it,nor will sony pc companion (both did prior to the error), and (Seus) doesnt even have x10 option.
Please help.

it took me days to be able to even post in parts of this website.
On seus just choose another phone. Like xperia z or something. It should recognize it as x10. Then follow the instructions. Is your bootloader unlocked?
