unfortunately, this will not help on the x10
this would be something to hang onto for the future though.
and it's over 500mb decompressed

hmmmmmm, could we flash the base band and ummmm mayne the kernel to our phones??????????????????

can't flash kernels until the bootloader is cracked.
however, the kernel modules are built for completely different hardware.

ahhh crap..
hoped since it was sony firmware it would be possible.

11kb? LOL - I'm downloading 106MB...

Thanks for quick reply, I can't download to my phone, only comp. Maybe?
Edit: it was downloding all the time. Sorry.

It's sources not compiled so putting it on your phone is pointless unless your planning on moving it to your computer and building it as firmware to be loaded after compilation / modification..
On another note, I found this of interest;
[email protected]:~/bin/Xperia_Play_3.0.A.2.181_182/kernel# ls
arch COPYING debian firmware init kernel Makefile README samples sound virt
block CREDITS Documentation fs ipc lib mm README_SonyEricsson scripts tools
chromeos crypto drivers include Kbuild MAINTAINERS net REPORTING-BUGS security usr
Looking into the debian directory there is a changelog which contains the following;
linux (2.6.32-1.1) unstable; urgency=low
* Initial Debian packaging (headers only)
-- Linux Build <[email protected]> Tue, 15 Jun 2010 15:05:50 -0600
LOL - unstable kernel.. very nice SE... very nice!
ALSO...
Configuration files can be found in arch/arm/configs.
Xperia PLAY => semc_zeus_defconfig
Xperia arc => semc_anzu_defconfig
Xperia neo => semc_hallon_defconfig

Sweet... i smell psp games in my future.

@MrHassell, no se released this on open sauce server.. u didnt see the link?

thats really interesting... so given that the system dump for arc was available and the sources in hand will it be possible for the devs to build the latest kernel and ramdisk for this?

what is DRM
Man why do you people hate using Google so much ? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Digital_rights_management
@OP : First off, please know that getting SEMCMusic to work on non-Xperia source based ROMS is one hell of a job. You need the right libs and framework files to get it to work. I may try doing this in the future. Like Chris said, these apps require DRM support. However, if you use nAa 14, i think this can be bypassed since nAa 14 has ICS DRM implemented in it. That's what got the SEMC apps working in the latest SDE (unlike the old one).

Kernel isnt enough, you need some drm files in the rom itself because in the 1st place standard cm7 roms don't care if their kernel has some drm files in, it's like there isn't

True but not entirely correct, depends on which source are they built. For example ICS .562 kernel was different, not sure about versions after that.
In general they are most of the time same, but not always.
Has anybody tested it?? With neo v?

Rom doesn't matter at first booting stage. It should at least show kernel logo. There something messed with either config or compilation.

Useless bump you made here.
And topics do not have to be closed, these can be used for discussing the same topic later, then there would be no need to create a new one.
Yesterday i saw that HTC pico now having dual roms installed one on primary memory and other one on sd-ext ,, the config of that device is lower than our MDPI so soon we could also have something like this.
yeah, pico got it too
there are many market apps helping in multiboot, but none of them support for our devices
maybe it just needs a think around,
my idea to implement this goes like this
the kernel of the primary rom should go on patch,
and just for a thought, the way linux mounts filesystems, should the sd card be partitioned for second rom

Yes saw that some devicea got multiboot implemented soon we can expect to have that according to,me if other android devices got it implemented that we also have it and,,, linux is just a kernel nothing else so devs have to mod the kernel to get os booted ftom sd card good news for unlocked devices

It just means that the driver can access memory at low level, it doesn't mean low memory usage. You can hope for a better memory management at least.

In Xperia U there are only two developers making custom kernels (apart of devs who include them in their ROMs) and they don't update his hernels, so I'm going to include the drivers myself.
