I see in the Apps/Themes subsection there are instructions as part of a theme thread. But does anyone have instructions or be able to point me towards a tutorial that explains in steps how to remove the AT&T banner? I would love to regain some of that banner real estate for my notifications.

Someone that was working on themes for the Atrix has said that removing the AT&T banner forces the phone to a reboot cycle or something like that. In other words, as of right now, it cannot be removed

Install CHT and make it look like you want it. You can remove everything and keep the clock.
you might want to edit your post to remove the pic. If a mod has to do it, you will get a strict warning...
Just a heads up.

I believe that this is the right place to post this request.
Whenever I select a text box or a flash item in the browser is flashes a yellow color.
I hate it and i want it to leave! It seems like the item is freezing and it is ugly.
Can it be removed somehow? I believe it can on be done the hard way!
wrong section & this is normal.

wrong section. but to answer your question, flash a theme that changes the colors in the web browsing...
Is it a theme thing? I'm sorry I thought that it was something deeper.
It's not only the browser but also the text boxes.
i have to disagree to you guys. afaik this has nothing to do with themes, it's just the yellow border which marks links and everything else in the browser. it's right in the development board. i can understand that you don't like it, i personally don't really care about it...
i'm pretty sure this can be done by any developer. but not by me, my android skills are very weak
maybe some dev picks this up...
This is definitely a theme issue. You need to edit a. 9.png, either in framework-res or the Browser.apk. Those are a huge pain to edit, but you can change the color, or make it transparent if you want to get rid of it altogether. I'm no themer, but I think if it's totally transparent you can cheat and skip the complicated part of preparing the. 9.png before you push it. Or you might be able to just delete it altogether. I'm sure if you post this over in that section you'll find an answer from somebody who knows better than me.
I would like to develop a new lockscreen for the my Vibrant. I've looked at some of the app versions. I like the concepts, but it seems like a lot of people complain about battery life and lag of the screen. I would like to make an actual lockscreen, not an overlay.
I am currently running Bionix 1.2.1. I would like to either add the lockscreen as an option on the menu provided in the Bionix Rom or flash the lockscreen in clockwork.
My first questions is, is this possible? Second question is how, or where is there somewhere i can look to get started?
I've looked around in the forums and I haven't seen any guides or any good info on this.
This would be my first jump into development for Android, but I'm willing to put in the time and effort as long as I can find a starting point in this area or get some help.
If this is built deep into the ROM and a difficult process I can find a different project, but I'm always up for a challenge. Any help would be appreciated.

It's built-in quite deep, a lot of files need to be edited. Whitehawkx actually PMed me on how to do this the other day, and it sounds quite complicated.
You'll first obviously need to create your .png's to dictate the lockscreens appearance. Then you will have to have coding knowledge, along with knowledge of smali/baksmali and editing .xmls. Thats a VERY brief overview until someone more knowledgable jumps in.
I can do some programming. I've done C++ and I have done some visual basic for work. I just haven't done any Java. I think with all the information here and on Google's developers page I could work my way though it. I would just need a general guideline. I can edit the .png's. I don't think that would be much of a problem.
It might be easier if I could edit an existing one. I like the concept of the puzzle lock. I just think it is kind of hokey. It would also be nice to have a little be more info on the screen and to have emails show up.
Would you be willing to send me what Whitehawkx sent to you? I'm not sure if that is ok.
I don't mind researching my way through it and learning as I go, I was just hoping someone had done something similar.

modifying would be the way to go... and unfortunately it has nothing to do with java coding, but dalvik bytecode (which is a major pain... untermensch & whitehawk are heroes with that bytecode).
Anyways, I believe it's in services.jar. You'd have to pull out classes.dex from it and decompile. check this post on how to decompile. and you're going to need the smali & baksmali jars...
anyways after you decompile you're stuck with lots of .smali files which contains the bytecode you would need to modify... it's really difficult to understand it heh

So you are using the other four lockscreens but want to get the rotary to work as well and are looking for what files are necessary for that to happen, correct?
The files I changed to get the rotary working on KB1 are as follows
Framework-res.apk
~public.xml
~strings.xml [I think one change here]
~Images are already in stock frameworks and already in place
android.policy.jar
~New smali used for rotary. All have "rotary" in their title
~changes to LockPatternKeyGuardView.smali
Settings.apk
~Changes to DisplaySettings.smali
~Changes to arrays.xml
I believe these are all the files I had to modify to get the rotary working.

heres what he said when i inquired. unfortunately he didnt go into much detail, i did send him another PM....but keep in mind these are the steps to simply inject an outside lockscreen into your current ROM, not necessarily how to build one from scratch
hopefully these steps may still give you an idea of where everything is located
I always wanted one that opens from the middle of the screen like a matinee curtain. That would be awesome.
Sent from my SGH-T959 using XDA App
Thanks guys! I'll start working with that and see what I can come up with. It looks like I have a lot to learn about it.
I'll try working through it and hopefully I will come up with some more specific questions that may be easier to answer.
Also, if you think of something that may help, let me know. I would appreciate it very much.
With the starting points already given i would build the lockscreen using aosp then port it to your rom. Once compiled you can decompile then different it

OK, I've seen some threads recently about getting rid of the bottom bar and honeybar or whatever. So, I developed a simple method to get rid of this. However, DO NOT TRY THIS IF YOU ARE NOT A SEASONED ANDROID ENTHUSIAST as this could mess some things up for you. Well, just one step... delete systemui.apk. Bar gone forever.
Sent from my tablet thing with XDA Premium.
I cannot believe there isn't a clean method ofrece hiding the bottom bar. Is there any??
I dont see why anyone would want to do this, but if you must, it would be much safer to just rename the file so you have a backup in case you want it back.

no, doesn't work unless it's deleted. There's something about android that always detects if it's there.
deleting is the only fix.
Thanks OP! Finally something that works.
so ahm..it would just not be there? i just dont like it when am playing games.
Hi all,
I'm kind of in the final steps of customizing my tablet at this point. I've unlocked bootloader, rooted, all that fun-ness. Now, I want go to the next level of customizations and tweak them even more to my liking. That being said, I've got a couple of questions.
1) Kernels: What are they, and where can I find them? I've googled for TF300T kernels but I don't find enough information that would make me comfortable flashing them and whatnot. Are there any benefits to custom kernels? Can I un-do any customizations I make to my kernel in case I don't like it/something goes wrong?
2) I saw a member who posted his TF300T screens with different backgrounds for each home screen, and I'm wondering if that has to be done with a certain type of launcher or if I can accomplish that with my GOLauncherHD?
3) Is it appropriate to post .apk files for others' to download, or are there certain rules/restrictions in place (just like one wouldn't post Windows software up for download that wasn't free)
Thanks,
Opethfan89
Have Fun.

1. Try flashing some of the custom roms under developemente page for tf300, there are some jelly bean roms but i would highly recommend seanz hydro-ponic since the jelly bean roms might still have some buggs. (Seanz Rom is awesome btw) You can find instructions on how to do it in his forum http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1750861 . Also watch some of the videos by Allaboutandroids here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1663244 he can resolve many of your issues and give you step by step instructions. **DONT DO THIS UNLESS YOU DONT MIND VOIDING YOUR WARRANTY, IF YOU BRICK YOUR TABLET ITS ON YOU** very easy process any way, and fun. Just make sure to follow the proper instructions.
2. There is an app that can change the picture for each home screen, there is no need to change launchers just download off the market free MultiPicture Live Wallpaper and under its options you can find "add individual settings" select a screen and add an inidvidiual screen for screen 1, 2 ,3 and so on, as many as you want. Also it gives you plenty of choices when it comes to the types of transitions, highly recommended app, goes well with Simple text widgets.
3. Make sure the software you are putting up is a developers app that has given you permissions, if it is in the market then its better if you give the market link. Dont put anything illegal up, pirated software and such.
Hope this helped. :good:

Thanks. I have been experimenting with flashing ROM's and so I have a better idea of what is out there. But I still haven't found any custom KERNELS, like I see peoples' signatures on these forums with "running <blah> custom build.prop" or "running XXX custom kernel". How can I get more info on kernels? or is the custom kernel going to be part of the ROM?
And to clarify #3, I meant being able to post like the Asus stock widgets that come on the TF300T and a guide to getting them to work.....I really like the weather widget, SuperNote, and Polaris Office but I haven't been able to find any guides detailing how to install the stock widgets.
I also downloaded the multilive wallpaper app but I can't find its settings menu. Got any advice?
-O
I dont know that much about custom kernels, sometimes people will put up wifi fix, or gps fix, so on that you flash into the kernel but not really an expert.
Also, concerning the multilive picture wallpaper app, at first i couldn't find the settings either, what I would do is go into play store and open it thru there, but looking thou my widgets i found multilive picture widget, but its not really widget its a regular icon, so i just put it on the desktop and launch it from there.
Hope this helped.
The custom kernels are coming, this device is still relatively new barely 4 months and already has an unlocked bootloader, some very slick roms (Scott's Clean Rom and HYDRO(PONIC)) and almost bugfree JellyBean roms. Thats mighty impressive considering some devices dont even have an unlocked bootloader. The developer who created the HYDRO PONIC Rom (Sean Z) is working on a kernel atm..we all just gotta be patient.
