Okay I used Baywolfs vibrant toolbox and odin back to 2.1, used samsung kies to upgrade back to 2.2 KA6....NOW I'm back to stock again. This is very frusterating. Is it this hard always to load a kernal......What is the best way to get this loaded on my phone.
I have tried CWM, but cant get it to get to green letters, there always BLUE
I have Odin supercurios KA6 with voodoo and twice it loads but say not enough partion space? But voodoo is enabled and I get red recovery. Then flash the Overstock zip which is on internal card. It loads but device hangs up after Samsung splash screen, even rebooting it does the samething.
Im at a loss...I need help

Ok..i'm gonna try this again....this time i'll tell you what I would do...others may disagree..
1. Odin back to stock 2.1 and re-root
2. Download ROM Manager from market and flash CWM Recovery
3. Let it flash, when it reboots into stock recovery hit re-isntall packages...it'll reboot again and you should have CWM Recovery, if it does't then hit "Reinstall packages again and it'll send you straight there
4. Get a custom ROM (Bionix-V, Axura, Trigger, Loki,...etc..) and flash it....any of those will give you a VooDoo enabled kernel (a red one).....also you'll be on Android 2.2 if you use these ROMs....after that flash OverStock 1.4...
Like i said , you or others may disagree but this is what i would personally do.....like i said before i rarely see folks on stock....and its too much trouble (to me) to work from stock 2.2....this is just a suggestion...any others?
EDIT: Also...if you flash a red VooDoo enabled kernel....then expect it to hang a little and expect a robotic voice to talk to you...that would be Linda activating the VooDoo lagfix...it usually takes about 5 mins and she will tell you the progress
thats what I did

In your OP you stated you used Kies to flash KA6 2.2 after using Odin to flash 2.1. I believe that stock recovery from the Kies version won't work when trying to flash Clockwork, should give a file signature verification error when you hit reinstall packages. Instead of using Kies to flash KA6, flash this one: http://eb-productions.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=samsungsgs&action=display&thread=3
Eugene's KA6 Odin file has the modified 2e recovery that will allow you to flash Clockwork from stock recovery. Hope this helps.

hey guys. serious situation here. i flashed voodoo beta4 and i followed his steps to disable it and that went great. i wanted to start fresh (primarily to try out kingklick) so i performed ODIN. that went great but when it went to stock recovery, it said couldn't wipe data (in red letters). now it wont get past the Galaxy S screen. it would just stay black, with the lights lit up. please help me. oh and i searched the whole voodoo thread. there were quite a few number of people who had my situation but the thread started getting off topic at page 16, and this whole dilemma disappeared.

the same thing happened to my.
should have read instructions more carefully.
Can still get to do mode and factory recovery.
Tried:
1. In clockwork recovery format everything you can under partitions menu except boot.
2. Flash the stock Rom ODIN with repartition checked (Not JI2 as this wont work with voodoo I believe)
i get DATA WIPE FAILED in red in the recovery read out on first boot
boots past galaxy screen to black screen.
then no vibrate but buttons light up.
FIXED...THANX XDA
EDIT: "I had this issue before, just odin Eugene's 2.2 rom (the one that says unbrickable or something like that). Once you have done that, your phone should reboot right back up. Then use odin to go back to stock."
ok i got it working! for all you who are going through this problem, flash eugenes froyo rom through odin and downgrade. its that simple. thanks to fit333.
i get another error after i flash the unbrickable oden
what my prob was is that i unstalled voodoo lf3 the did the disable lf with a folder then installed a voodo lf beta 4 which bricked my phone. then i formated my internal sd. now i can't reach my sd cards, odin updates don't work eugene unbrickable takes me to a recovery screen with no ok button just up and down. now odin won even work. i lost everything on my phone, is there a way to bring it back to life? by the way eugene unbrick says use ui to format cannot install or create some folder and file.
This will seem long, but I want to ensure whoever may be able to help has all of the info I can give. My vibrant is officially bricked..
1)I was on the newest official software JI6
2)I had installed RyanZA's One click lag fix
3)I reversed the One click lag fix
4)Got creative and decided to try voodoo lag fix for vibrant version 3
5)After installing voodoo, phone will not boot
6)Here are the symptoms after voodoo.....phone will turn on and attempt to boot, but then just sits there with the bottom four buttons lit
7)Next, I have tried the following:
a)Odin JI6 - same result, phone will not move past Galaxy S logo
b)Did a factory reset - then Odin JI6 again = same result
c)Odin stock 2.1 (JFD) with 512 pit = Same result
Please help!
I had to odin my phone like 4 times to get it to work... Odin is the way... Have you tried switching the usb port the phone is plugged into?
Try using Odin and flash back to stock ROM prior to JI6 like JI2 or JFD. This should work

I have tried 2 times now to go back to JFD. Same result, everything goes smooth, then the Galaxy S logo appears. Once the Galaxy S logo goes away, the bottom four buttons stay lit for a while, and then I just have to power on. It stays in this loop.

I believe the reason your phone would not boot is b/c you were running JI6 and flashed the voodoo kernel. To the best of my knowledge ALL of the custom kernels available for the Vibrant are based off of the JFD build. You have to flash the zip from this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=804415 THEN flash the kernel you want to use. I also know that once you flash the .zip from that thread, if you try to revert to the STOCK kernel it will hang at the Vibrant screen. Only way to get back to stock STOCK is to use Odin. Now as to why Odin is not working is beyond me... I almost wonder if it converted your RFS to EXT4 even though it hung at the Vibrant screen. If this happened then to fix it I believe you have to use Odin to flash Eugene373's "Froyo that does not brick" then downgrade back to JFD and then upgrade back to JI6. It won't be fun, but hopefully this will help you get up and running again!
Update!
Tried again using odin to JFD.
I noticed that after the blue bar finished in download mode and the screen starts scrolling things...
there was an error. It said it was unable to reset data.
Afterwards, it reboots while odin is finishing, then it shuts the phone off...
I would love to try this, but I believe this is over my head. (No shame here!) I don't know how to flash using clockwork.

I think its safe to say if you are having a data error then voodoo IS enabled on your phone. You either need to do what I said earlier and flash Eugene's Froyo that does not brick and then downgrade back to JFD OR you might be able to use adb to push a file named "disable lagfix" (no extensions) into the "Voodoo" folder on your sdcard to disable voodoo. You need to disable it before your phone will work.

Official Instructions for Reverting from a Voodoo Issue:
SOURCE
Did You Flash Something Before Disabling Voodoo? 2 Fixes to Help You Out.
So you forgot to disable the voodoo lagfix before you flashed a new rom and now you're getting an error, similar to the one posted below. Even Odin won't allow you to flash back to stock. Well, pay close attention and with some luck, you'll be good as rain...or something like that.
Fix 1:
1. Download Eugenes 'Froyo that does not brick' file.
2. Extract the files.
3. Open Odin, plug in your phone, then put it into download mode.
4. load the PIT file in appropriate area.
5. load the .tar file in the PDA area.
6. DO NOT check 're-partition'.
7. Click start, let it finish. Your phone will load and reboot into stock recovery. It will error out again. DONT panic! This is what's supposed to happen.
8. Now, pull your battery.
9. Download the 'True stock 2.1 firmware for the vibrant'.
10. Extract the files.
11. Once again, open Odin, plug in your phone, put into download mode.
12. Load the PIT file into the appropriate area and the .tar in the PDA area.
13. THIS TIME you want to check the 're-partition' box.
14. Now click start, let it finish, and this time your phone will load up just fine! BAM!
Fix 2: (use only if you know how to use adb commands)
1. Place the 'disable-lagfix' file in your sdk>tools directory
2. Get into clockwork recovery like you normally would
3. Follow these adb commands to push the 'disable-lagfix' file to you sdcard>voodoo
adb push disable-lagfix /sdcard/voodoo
4. File should now be on your sdcard in your voodoo folder.
5. Reboot phone and with luck, you should hear Linda the robot telling you your file system is being converted back to rfs.
6. Because your system directory has already been wiped, you'll still get a black screen when you reboot, but your file system is back to rfs. Just pull the battery, and reflash whatever rom you want. Then reboot again.

Taken from the Bionix Instruction Page
As a note this will WIPE all the data on your phone except for the external sd card. The internal 16gb card will get wiped. Using ADB I would pull the entire contents of your /sdcard/ to your Computer so that you can restore completely. The command is as follows:
adb pull /sdcard/

After Reverting from the gingerbread, I used odin to flash JFD ODIN
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=734475
and now when it boots up it shows t-mobile and then galaxy s then it shows nothing on the screen and the 4 buttons stay lit up!
Can someone please help, I'd appreciate it was a gift from my gf and I really hope its not bricked a few days after I got it.
You might want to check your files for Odin then try to odin again or just try to get into recovery and flash another rom
Find yourself a 2.1 kernal and flash that. You probably still have a 2.2 kernal on the phone.
Well when I get into recovery How do I flash a rom... I cant stick any files onto my phones memory and it doesnt detect my external sdcard file named update.zip.
Is there a way to transfer files onto the phone without boooting it.
If you have a sd card reader you can put that in your pc and download a rom on it but I'm not sure how you would copy it onto the internal sd I surprised you don't already have a 2.2 rom on there but there are a couple of roms on the team whisky website that can be loaded with odin you could try one of those
http://www.teamwhiskey.com/
Edit: this man could be correct but I flashed gb from sombionix I had voodoo enabled and used odin to jfd and didn't have this problem but he might be right
you didnt disable voodoo... download eugenes froyo that doesnt brick flash it through odin and then flash back to whatever you want
I had the same problem using JFD Odin ROM. It worked for me when i used JI4 ROM.

This is the correct answer. I always do this and it solves all problems since it comoletely wipes, but after eugenes I then odin jfd and then I start the flashing again.
By the way, you can send him his 5 bucks now.
Sorry for being a noob.
but i install the voodoo lag fix through recovery mode and it stucked at vibrant/samsung loading page for 30 mins..i think something is not right..
i pull the battery. and reinstalled it. it stays in vibrant/samsung loading page now.
i tried recovery mode wipe all data...nothing work.
then i tried flash the origianl stock rom and it stucks...
i tried odin flashed the voodoo again...nothing works..
what should i do?should i flash another rom?
We'll need some more background on your current setup.
What Rom are you flashing Voodoo on and which voodoo are you flashing? You need to pick a voodoo that closest matches what the Rom is built on.
When flashing voodoo through clockwork, do you hear Linda? She should be telling you what progress you're making. It does take a bit of time so if you're hearing her then be patient.
Head on over to the developer section and flash Axura 2.2.5.7 which comes with voodoo. Easy peasy.
i m running stock tmobile 2.1 rom
download the Voodoo lagfix-only 3.0 Update.zip
i dont hear linda.
i am flashing the stock kernel and rom right now ..
waiting to see the out come after flash...
and i have a samsung captivate as well..
i know the processes of linda..
vibrant is not my phone..so...i really worried..

Well lets get the phone working again first.
Did you use the .512 .pit and JFD .tar for a Vibrant?
yes i am flashing with 512 and stock rom.
i will try custom now..
From what I'm gathering the 3.0 voodoo update.zip is for the I9000 and not specifically for the Vibrant. I can't seem to find any Vibrant Eclair voodoo kernals.
Here's Supercurio's post for Vibrant Kernals Link. All of these are 2.2 Froyo Kernals.
Just to be clear that you got the true stock firmware read Here.
I personally would try any custom Roms until you get back to stock.
did i break my kernel or baseband?
i flahsed the true roms.....it is just not getting into the home page..

Try to flash them again using the link above.
Make sure you have Odin 1.3 or greater as well. 1.0 is known to be buggy.
I believe you broke your Kernal.
Try to download the files I linked to make sure yours aren't corrupt.
You can always try Eugene's froyo that doesn't brick. I can't find it on XDA at this time though...
EDIT - Here's working .pit and .tar stock files.
512.pit
T959UVJFD.tar
Hey drew if im out of line I apologize. But he said he had a captivate. Would the firmware be the same for our vibrants and the cappy.
Powered by Axura with a dash of Voodoo
thx bro,
trying again..even i use the same files..
but i realize i used odin 1.0 the 2nd time..
using 1.3 again to see.
he said it was stuck on the vibrant screen then he is also saying that he doesn't have a vibrant. Maybe he's flashing the wrong .tar that's why odin isn't working.
dude what's really your phone?
i m working on vibrant.
i m flashing vibrant rom on virbrant.
i have a captive. nothing to do with this
flashed again.. still black screen. after tmobile/samsung logo.
try to use this.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=790026
did you try checking the re-partitions?
i used 1.3 odin
and tried re-partitions.
well..i think...i need to try flash custom rom
can anybody tell me which rom i can flash through odin?
i see all rom manager ones..
This is Eugene's Froyo that doesn't brick.

I was attempting to reflash my vibrant to the latest bionix v rom, but something went wrong and it all crashed.
I was able to restore it back to stock 2.2 using odin, as it was stuck on the samsung vibrant boot screen, but now it is telling me that there is no available space for applications.
I really would like to install rom manager and get bionix on it again, but i cant install anything from market, nor will most programs admit there is any space available on my sd card. It is obviously there and empty, reformatted, because my computer recognizes it when mounted and the web app is using it for cache.
Additionally, my internal sd card is only showing up as 2.4 GB, not the 16 something it should be. Even in disk utility and gparted in linux it is showing up as 2.4.
system recovery version is 2e and it is telling me "novinand checksum confirmation fail" -honestly I have no idea what this means.
My best guess is my sd card isnt partitioned right for the phone to see whats really there, but I cant exactly manually format it on my desktop, when its not showing up as the full disk size.
any ideas?
Not being able to install anything or flash to a custom rom seriously defeats the purpose of having a smartphone.
Thanks in advance

Odin back to stock 2.1 with repartition checked, that should fix it. If it doesn't let us know, so other members with ideas can chime in.

According to that guide you used Eugenes froyo that doesn't brick, which is 2.2 not 2.1. That also might be what caused your phone to do that. If you left repartition checked on that odin file then you might sol, but I hope not.
You should download the Vibrant All in One toolbox for the PC. It's a very handy tool and comes with the right files to odin back to 2.1 with repartition checked successfully .If you choose to download it, when you get it installed there will be a button that says flash to stock. That's the button you want to use.
I believe I deserve retard status- that wasnt the guide I used.
odin to 2.1 didnt boot-
eugenes 2.2 did-
perhaps I should add that it did the same thing ( 0.00B available) when i had bionix on it
I will try this toolbox you speak of-
Thanks
Got AIO vibrant toolbox- followed the directions it contained.
Flashed to stock with repartition enabled- however goes to black screen with softkeys illuminated after the stupid tmobile boot logo.
Pretty much does nothing after that.
Still stumped...Further ideas?
Thanks again

I seem to be having the exact problem these guys had but the never posted a solution...
Update:
I did manage to get 2.1 flashed on my phone, and it will let me install applications again, however i cant seem to get CWM to stay...each time i try to reboot back to it, it goes back to the default 2e.
For the record- and if anyone else has this problem...I used AIO vibrant toolbox to attempt to flash to stock, and when that left me with a blank black screen, I flashed eugenes Rom that cant be bricked. Amazing. It didnt do much except let me flash 2.1 again, and praise the lord, it actually booted.
I am also still getting the MBR checksum fail message when i boot into recovery...which means to me that this problem still isnt solved
I still would really like some input on this.
thanks!
Maybe ? -
Reinstall Clockwork app from the market, then from the app select "Flash Clockwork Recovery"
From the 2E recovery Ive have to hit "reinstall packages" twice for it to come up.

Yes normally when you go into recovery you will have to select reinstall packages 2 times to actually get into the clockwork recovery. If that isn't working then try to flash clockwork through rom manager.
Did you ever get it working properly ?
