Last OTA from Bell was a month behind the At&T one IIRC. So maybe in a few weeks at best?
what about who have unlocked at&t?
Just wondering if anyone was actively looking for a way to get s off with the ota update?

Nope. And there probably won't be unless moto makes the photon unlockable with their new utility.

I believe I read that relocking the bootloaded on a stock rom fixes 4g... Haven't done it myself since my area doesn't have nor will ever receive WiMax based 4g service. You do this throud RSD Lite, the files you need are available from Lokifish Marz, you can find his stuff in this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1611911
As far as I know you are right. You can unlock, flash a rom with a stock kernel, and re-lock to retain 4g.

not sure if it's any help but update was disabled on my phone until I un-rooted it, maybe to stop incompatible software or Google's way of saying that we don't own hardware we foolishly believe we do!
more of our liberties being erroded little by little I guess.
But why is it working for so many others? Is there another way rooting the newest firmware?

I found out why it won't work. I had to relock the bootloader.
