I found this in the X10 forum http://developer.sonyericsson.com/cws/download/1/938/364/1299757634/3.0.A.2.181_182.tar.bz2 ... They are the uncomplied Xperia Play open source files. I noticed there was a kernel folder, and my question is quite simply.
Is there any way to port this kernel?
I figured that this should be possible since i assume that these files are compatible with and also signed for the S1 bootloader. Although this is only me guessing
They are s1 compatible yes but not signed...

nop....
i think you bought an Xperia Mini Pro not a x10 mini pro
so you re in the wrong thread
you should better fint the proper thread for your device because if you use any software from here might brick your device
(i made that assumption from the build you posted. the latest build of x10 mini pro is 2.1.C.0.0 and for this reason it is impossible for you to have a x10 mini pro with the build you posted)
Of course it's the WRONG topic! xP
Do we have GingerBread 2.3.3 officialy on our mini pros and nobody noticed?! Hahahahahahaha! xD Niiiiiiiiice...
So, let me clear it out. Xperia X10 mini pro (U20i) is not your phone. Yours is Xperia mini pro (SK17i). Be careful, don't get confused... ;-)

Since bootloader for X10 mini and X10 mini pro is cracked, can we make a newer version kernel (2.6.32 or 2.6.35 instead of 2.6.29)?
I think yes,just we have to wait a little bit

MiniCM7 is indeed the best option, but you will need an older version in order to run in on stock kernel. Go to the link provided in one of the previous posts, click on the word 'Downloads' and find MiniCM7 2.0.7, it's based on Gingerbread 2.3.5, and will run flawlessly on stock kernel.
Is it possible to flash kernels without flashtool on x10 mini? I know it's possible on some samsung android devices, so it'd be very cool to have it on E10i. Any ideas?
In theory it could be done but we don't have any way to yet, you have to use flashtool.

Try rooting with flashtool. If you don't know how to do that, please check out the pinned rooting guide
Make sure that you turned on following things:
Developer options--->usb debugging
Security--->unknown sources
Xperia--->connectivity--->mass storage mode

+1 and use flashtool.
I hope you installed the proper adb drivers... For XMP...
I don't know if flashtool require drivers or not...
(I use a different toolkit for rooting and flashing)
But for detection of device, driver should be installed
