Its there something with our in singer themes that make battery life better our worse? I flashed sc 2.9 and have had great battery life better then ever before I always theme but decided to stay stock for some reason. I want to try a theme but asm scared I wil lose my 24+ hours of battery life.

Um, a theme is just a package of recolored icons, apps, and other graphics. How would that cause poor battery life? Okay, I guess some also come with some mods like the accurate battery mod, but nothing that should ever affect battery life negatively. Theme away, my friend. Oh, and make sure you get a theme that's designed for the specific rom you're using (I.e. don't install a theme for AOSP on Super Clean, and vice versa). Worst case scenario, something in the theme actually does cause battery drain, and you reflash the rom to revert to the stock theme.

What is the best vibrant rom for battery life? This is going to be for my g/f I am running MIUI on my evo and was happy to see the vibrant starting to get a taste of that greatness
Anyone have a recommendation for best battery life? I have flashed team whiskey's bionix but it's draining the battery like crazy, battery is dead in literally 6-8 hour with little use, no apps installed, nothing......
as batttery-wise..
Master's Axura has always done the trick for me.
But the key is to recondition your battery.
Recondition it on every rom you go and you will definately last 15+ hours easily with light-moderate use
Stock, bionix v, nero 5... either of these will do. If you want to see some great extended battery life I would suggest to dl the "superpower" and "setcpu" apps. If you tweak these two Apps they can make a big difference.
Most I got out of nero5 as 32+ hours.
Gotta say, the Axura really has the best battery of all the roms I have used and I have used them all, but remember your specific usage habits affect the battery life results.....
Axura has been great for me. I've been on axura, bionix, and nero v5 and axura is by far the best.

I've tried just about every rom out there at this point and they all get decent battery life for me. It's when I start using OC kernels that I start seeing alot of battery drain but even those are getting better.
Note that I'm running MIUI 1.6.3 with Platypus NEO-03 and the KB1 kernel. Does anyone else's battery drop by about 2% every few minutes?

Take your battery out lay ot on a flat surface and spin it.
If it spins good, you have a bad battery.
I read that somewhere but idk where ;p.
Condition your battery a few times. That being said MIUI is going to be known for horrible battery life until Sammy releases gingerbread source.

Uh? I was getting way better battery life on MIUI than in CM7.
@OP: Battery life sucks on all GB roms now, they are far from what Froyo offers, in term of battery life of course.
That said, my battery life improved greatly with this setup: MIUI + Platypus Revolutions Kernel + KB5 Modem + Juice Defender (optional). I was very happy with the battery life i was getting...but, i decided to go back to Froyo for awhile.

I didnt mention anything about CM7....
Said in general battery life on any GB rom is going to suck, well compared to 2.2 or 2.2.1.
I was on MIUI. Loved it but I hated the battery life Extremely SUX when it comes to battery life and I know also from using vibrant for the last year That it has Great battery cycles life.
I would install a stable rom for at least a day to see how its going
Hope that Helps
So i have a filename. I love minuit and all the features/customization, but the battery life is killing me BC i work long hours outside. So my question is, shud i just deal or downgrade back to my wonderful battery life from Froyo?

Looking at my previous ROMs on my Vibrant, I have resorted back to Battery Life. Yes, the extra tweaks and pretty customization are very eye candy but in the long run, you want a phone to be a phone that can last you whenever you need it when you go out for a long night or for a mini trip. I feel it's pointless for a pretty arse phone that can only last you a few hours. It's only good for the show. For me, I found a middle ground of battery life and customizables with Toxic8.
From the past, my best battery life comes out from Bi-Winning, then Bionix, then Toxic8, and then the GingerBread ROMs and then CM7.
Kudos to Toxic 8. It looks amazing and it has a good battery life!
You can also try Trigger3.2. I tried it and personally have found it to have better battery life than Bionix. However it's all preference.
Try Trigger3.2/Toxic8/Bionix with bali and see which one works for you!
I've tried them all and Biwinning and Bionix give you the best life and stability (along with a Bali or Immortality kernel)
Toxic8 also rocks with its themes (geared towards young people) but at it's current latest state, the GPS warms up the battery and kills the battery life.
The rest of the ROMS you have to play with and see what you like. The battery life is most important to me and the ROMS mentioned above are fast and stable. I don't need more until an official GB leak is released for the Vibrant.
I currently have Alien Build #4 with the green theme installed on my Atrix. I am wondering if by using the theme rather than just the basic Alien rom, does the battery drain faster? Or would it be pointless to recover to an old back-up from before I put the theme on expecting better battery life?
The display drains a lot of power. So if your theme is bright, it uses more power, your battery will last shorter.

If anything the theme should (slightly) improve battery life as it has darker colors. It's been a long time since I used Alien but from what I remember the theme was similar to AOSP Gingerbread and uses a lot of blacks and greys. Darker colors = less power from the screen = better battery. But if battery life is your primary concern I would recommend trying out Neutrino EE. The only reason NOT to flash it is if you use webtop as it is a CM7 rom. It's a very stripped down rom so it's incredibly fast and has yielded the best battery life I have ever had with my Atrix.

I see how that makes sense. One thing that keeps bugging me and is making me think it uses more battery life is that when I use Home Switcher, it shows the theme and the stock rom as two seperate launchers. Do I need to be concerned about that or can I just ignore it?
I have been running cm7 for a couple of weeks now and my battery has been stable and pretty good life. However last night I put a new epic blue theme on and this morning after a full night of charging after 1hr and 11 minutes and I am down to 81%? Looks great but does it pull more juice? Thanks in advance!

I suppose its possible, I have definitely noticed that some themes produce more lag than others so I don't think your idea is too outlandish...

I did not think it would matter I never noticed it before. However this theme looks awesome but curious if all this extra color and extras could cause more batery drain? I just turned down the brightness I am sure that did not help being on brightest setting.
In theory, I would say its possible. If a theme has more complex images then I would say it could take a little more effort for the phone to render them. But I wouldn't think it would make that big of a difference.
No, not on our device anyway. SuperAMOLED screens I think get better battery life on a dark theme, but not 100% on that. No matter what, the same amount of light is used on a color choice for our device. The "lag" users are getting is possible due to a conflict with image size or an image missing; not 100% on that either, but 99% sure that the answer to your question is no. UOT or Theme Chooser CM7?

Theme Chooser on cm7. And I did have to accept that it does not fit my screen and use anyways. It probably is not the theme it might have been a coincidence that it happen after the theme. Thanks for the clarification pretty much like I thought but it was weird to have a unusual battery drop right after I changed themes. Thanks again.

I have been using cm7 and it does AMAZING with the battery. I can actually last a day. What kills my bat life is leaving the data on, I think there is an error somewhere with the data controller with this port. If I turn data off with screen off,I can probably go 5 days (but little to no usage). But if I turn data on and leave screen off,I might last 10 hours
