i'm having problems with my mini pro's wifi.
i've enabled the wifi and i can see the wifi icon on the notification bar. i can surf for a few minutes and then my connection drops. i'd notice that the wifi icon disappears and after few minutes, it goes back again.
any idea what the problem is? do i need to reflash it again? coz it's a bit annoying to have an intermittent connection on my phone. wifi going on and off.
i've tried connecting to both my laptop, which acts as a hotspot, and thru my wireless router. regardless of which i connect to, my phone's wifi still goes on/off.
try to reflash it when that doesn't work it is a hardware related porblem and you need to sent it back to SE...
Wifi connection problem
Hello, I have an x10 mini pro and using the original operating system wifi works perfectly. I installed several custom ROM and with ALL of them i have the same problem:
As soon as i intall the new rom, wifi works great, but when i try to connect to a WPA encrypted network, the wifi stops working. I then can't get it work again even if i disable/enable wifi card or reboot the phone.
So, my question is: is there a way to clean the WPA connector status? Or something similar to bring the wifi interface status back to the post-insttallation status?
If you want, i can post my dmesg/lsmod/netcgf output.
Thanks for the great work!

I've just answered by myself: to reset the wifi status just remove the file: /data/misc/wpa_supplicant.conf or siply rename it. After that wifi started working again...
I had the same problem when i install MiniCM7 PRO. I change kernel to ZobiePanic v1.5.2 and now it works.

Have you tired adding any other devices on your home network to ensure its not your modem ?
i can connect my notebook and my gf cellphone =(
Try wifi manager i think it will work on wolfs rom you can check with him or just try it, it's free an if you have a password on your wifi check that and your settings on your phone.
there is some wifi finders too try them on your phone to see if it can see your wifi.

problem solved!
just changed channel from 12 to 11 on router settings
***
type 192.168.1.1. on your browser
skip to advanced options and on channel choose 11
=)
That rom wolf just put out so give him a little time to tweak it. Is there something in his forum about it. He was just on his forum at 2:47am updating it so maybe reflash or wait. Also did you do a service menu check on phone to see if all is ok ?
Adhoc Wifi Connection problem.....
Hi!
I am being unable to connect my Xperia X10 with the adhoc wifi connection. I am using MIUI 1.9.9. My phone connects smoothly to Wifi Router but does not connect to Adhoc Wifi connection. Though it shows the adhoc connection yet does not connect to it.
Hope somebody there will be able to help me.
I've tried stock XXLP2 and XXLPH so far and currently am on XXLPH. I find that wifi connectivity is horrendously poor. Every few seconds the wifi disconnects. I can't copy large files over wifi between my phone and PC, and the problem is obviously not with my router since my laptop and a Nokia 5800 can comfortably remain connected.
If I switch off and switch on the wifi, sometimes it immediately picks up, otherwise takes up to a minute to detect the router, and sometimes not at all. This has happened whether I'm sitting right next to the router or in the adjacent room, so I doubt it has to do with signal strength.
Some other times when I switch on wifi, the screen gets stuck at 'turning on wifi..' and only a reboot fixes it..
Anyone else face this? Is there a fix..or do I sit and pray the official ICS build will work fine?

In Market allways give me an error "Connection timed out"
And to add account on Email or Facebook it always give me this error "Connection failed"
I re-flash, factory reset, all what I can do, and NOTHING.
Please help us
Having the same problem with Galaxy Note (very similar platform) stock ICS. Looks like WiFi is especially poor with certain Access Points, but performs OK with others (which used to work fine when I had the older GB ROM).
Perhaps I'll try to flash the GB radio firmware while keeping the ICS OS.
I am also facing same problam. In GB I never faced any problem but after switching to ICS my wifi is DEAD :crying::crying::crying:
Use "Wifi Fixer" and wifi would work like before.

http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=1075278
and then root it (XXLPQ)http://www.redmondpie.com/root-galaxy-s-ii-on-android-4.0.3-ics-with-cfroot-how-to-tutorial/ i mean
Thanks

I've installed the pre-rooted version of remix and it's working fine apart from I can't get my little usb wifi dongle to work.
Has anyone any ideas? I can't use ethernet unfortunately.
Thanks

Same issue! Installed Remix, rooted it manually, everything seemed to be perfect until I discovered I had no way of connecting to the Internet. It's a no-go!
There's a related thread on reddit(r/RemixOS/comments/49ahbx/how_to_connect_my_4g_lte_modem_to_remix_pc_rooted) that I'm following, not much there though. Someone on there recommended to tether Wifi, but I can't imagine running a second machine to do as a hotspot. That's just stupid and a waste of energy and not how things should be.
It's frustrating!:crying:
What's your dongle? XD Mine is the "famous" E3372/4G & I am with an Asian carrier.

There's a widget called PPP2 that works fine on many android devices but it isn't working on Remix. I submitted a post to the PPP2 forum:

Hi,
Firstly ,i have 2 x mini wi fi dongles .
they have usb options ( Huawei E5520 and a Vodafone lte .
Both connect to my laptop ( buildt in wifi ) No issues overall .
Also i can use my phone Note5 modem 3G/4G as a wifi hotspot and connect to laptop (Remix os ) .No issues ,works fine .This i did before and after rooting .
Maybe an option ?
good luck
I don't know if my windows phone supports usb tethering but I'll have a look. Cheers!

The dev of PPP2 responded to my post from yesterday. Seems like PPP widget won't work with my dongle(E3372) and many others which do not support PPP. Ugh!
quote:
"This is a problem of the modems used, not of the OS.
The modems mentioned do not provide a PPP port, so they don't work with PPP Widget 2."
If PPP won't work, then I don't know... If you find a way, please share. Until then, Remix is pretty much useless.
Please if anyone is having a. Solution please tell...
I am using tp link to connect to WiFi but wifi not working.. Please anyone help me.. I want it to verify Gameloft games.... I use Ethernet now.. Need WiFi connection to play Gameloft game on the first run.. Please help me.. At least tell me a workaround to fake WiFi connectivity over Ethernet...
Unplug your dongle and plug it back in, then reboot. Its worked for me a couple times.
I tried a different dongle and it worked fine.
Hey guys,
The XDA forums recently stopped loading for me, whenever I try to load a page it does not fully load (only the top banner loads, like http://imgur.com/vIRJAvY). It worked last night, but suddenly stopped working today.
Weirdly enough, the forums work on my mobile data (on a different carrier from my home wireless), and when tethering to my mobile but not on my home wireless. They also work while using a VPN (Zenmate, from Germany apparently). However this is a temporary solution and I would like to find a more permanent one, after a number of frustrated hours trying to fix it.
I've tried switching DNS and ip bands to no avail. Also tried turning my router on and off, and different browsers. Any idea as to why? :/
I have the same problems. What carrier are you using? Mine is Singtel in Singapore.

And also is your phone rooted and do you have any build.prop tweaks?
Morning
Is there a fault with the tethering on this phone? I've tried connecting to my laptop, it finds and connects to the laptop but just says no Internet. So I connected my wife's pixel phone and it connected straight away. Is this another problem in the long line of other problems with this device?

Hmm strange how it connects but says no Internet on my surface book.
Being a UK user we had to wait for the WiFi problem to be fixed, still waiting on the ok Google fix and Google maps is really slow and jerky
This is what I get
ah, I haven't heard about the wi-fi problem.
have you tried with another computer ? Reset your wifi card, DHCP activated ... ?

Mate 10 Pro tehering
I'm having the same issue.
New Mate 10 Pro set up for thethering, Samsung Tablet connets to phone, phone sees tablet, but can't get any internet on tablet through phone. Tablet worked fine with old S5 Neo so not a tablet problem.
Seems to me the problem is with the phone as I see more and more people having the same problem.
Anyone know how to fix this yet?
Thanks
I'm also having trouble so far no apple devices can connect to my hotspot and most Androids cannot connect..A few Androids have connected , but most of the time comes back with authention error, this happens when I use or don't use a password.,I have the latest upgrade 8.0
I had this problem too - devices would connect to the hotspot but not be able to get online.
I found a guide on here saying to reset the APN and change a setting in it... Worked perfectly since. I don't have the guide bookmarked but try searching.
---------- Post added at 01:56 PM ---------- Previous post was at 01:51 PM ----------
I found my reply in another thread which worked for me:
I had this issue on a Mate 10 Pro - hotspot would connect, but no data throughout. It worked on SIM 2 but not SIM 1, and SIM1 is the main SIM I want to tether using.
I reset all network settings (system, reset, network settings reset), reset the APN (wireless & networks, mobile network, access point name, three dots), added a new APN and that got tethering to work on either SIM slot.
Would confirm that this is the solution - perfect on the three occasions it's not worked in 6 months.

I'm glad it helped someone. I was about ready to sell the phone if tethering didn't work, and spent ages looking for a fix after endless hard resets.
