Hey guys,
The XDA forums recently stopped loading for me, whenever I try to load a page it does not fully load (only the top banner loads, like http://imgur.com/vIRJAvY). It worked last night, but suddenly stopped working today.
Weirdly enough, the forums work on my mobile data (on a different carrier from my home wireless), and when tethering to my mobile but not on my home wireless. They also work while using a VPN (Zenmate, from Germany apparently). However this is a temporary solution and I would like to find a more permanent one, after a number of frustrated hours trying to fix it.
I've tried switching DNS and ip bands to no avail. Also tried turning my router on and off, and different browsers. Any idea as to why? :/
I have the same problems. What carrier are you using? Mine is Singtel in Singapore.

And also is your phone rooted and do you have any build.prop tweaks?

i'm having problems with my mini pro's wifi.
i've enabled the wifi and i can see the wifi icon on the notification bar. i can surf for a few minutes and then my connection drops. i'd notice that the wifi icon disappears and after few minutes, it goes back again.
any idea what the problem is? do i need to reflash it again? coz it's a bit annoying to have an intermittent connection on my phone. wifi going on and off.
i've tried connecting to both my laptop, which acts as a hotspot, and thru my wireless router. regardless of which i connect to, my phone's wifi still goes on/off.
try to reflash it when that doesn't work it is a hardware related porblem and you need to sent it back to SE...
Wifi connection problem
Hello, I have an x10 mini pro and using the original operating system wifi works perfectly. I installed several custom ROM and with ALL of them i have the same problem:
As soon as i intall the new rom, wifi works great, but when i try to connect to a WPA encrypted network, the wifi stops working. I then can't get it work again even if i disable/enable wifi card or reboot the phone.
So, my question is: is there a way to clean the WPA connector status? Or something similar to bring the wifi interface status back to the post-insttallation status?
If you want, i can post my dmesg/lsmod/netcgf output.
Thanks for the great work!

I've just answered by myself: to reset the wifi status just remove the file: /data/misc/wpa_supplicant.conf or siply rename it. After that wifi started working again...
I had the same problem when i install MiniCM7 PRO. I change kernel to ZobiePanic v1.5.2 and now it works.

minutes after i posted this, i was able to set it up!! finally
I'm having trouble with my wifi as well. Its been working for weeks since I got it but all of a sudden wifi won't pick up any networks. I ran the diagnostics and I get error 1000, wifi not enabled, even though it is.
This problem has been mentioned on other forums but no one has come up with a definitive fix. If anyone can, it would be someone on this forum.
Try forcing your router to "g" and setting the channel to something below 10 instead of "auto". I don't know about the TP but until recently the Transformer couldn't connect to channels over 12 and my TP does not like my mifi on "n"

Thanks for the suggestions, however, I'm not sure why changing the settings on my router will fix the problem because the Touchpad was connecting to the same router before. I used to be able to pick up my neighbors' wifi before as well but now the Touchpad doesn't pick up anything. It just stays on searching for access points.
Try webos doctor?
Sent from my Incredible 2 using XDA App
If you go to HP's website and have a chat with support, they are able to remotely reset the device! I had this same problem.
A friend of mine has just purchased anew Galaxy S III and she's encountered a rather weird issue: some apps can't seem to access her mobile internet connection.
When she's on wireless everything works perfectly, but no mobile internet only some apps (like the browser) manage to connect to the internet, while others (like the mail client or WhatsApp) don't.
Any idea what might be causing this?

Hi LordBlades,
When you say briwser works on mobile data, are you sure your browser is not showing pages from cache only? Did you check your mobile data settings from your provider and is your mobile data enabled in settings?
And is your friend still working with stock or did she root or flash her phone before that issue?
I just want to clarify your issue
John

Also check in Settings --> Data Usage if she didn't set a mobile data limit.

Problem solved:victory:
Apparently there were 2 APNs set up by the provider and one only allows browser to work. Switched to the other one and everything works fine.

Great !
Hi, I have been trying to get my HTC one M7 to work with WIFI tethering apps with no success, I literally tried every app out there and failed .
I have used WIFI tether for root users before on an HTC inspire 4G and it's by far the most efficient tethering app out there, however I can't get it to work with my One M7, the phone is branded AT&T, stock Kitkat 4.4.2 Sense 6 rooted and with stock kernel, unlocked and I use it with H2O SIM so I can not use the native tethering, I tried different ROMs and Kernels and failed, I tried various version of Wifi tether FRU and various settings, on the default settings the app starts with errors but no logs are stored, and if I change settings in the menu to HTC Rezound it starts fine with no errors but still it does not broadcast the SSID, what am I missing here ?
Same thing happens with Barnacle, starts but does not broadcasts
Any help will be appreciated .
Update : after playing with the settings my HTC one was detected by an iPhone 4s and successfully connected to internet, however I still cannot get it to show up on my laptop .
For some reason the SSID is listed under "Devices" and not "Networks" on the iPhone . in other words it was not recognized as a gateway/Router/access point .
My m7 runs insertcoin and tethering has always worked, kind of. . . Android devices connect without problem, but ios devices see the ssid but fail to connect. I was thinking it was something to do with the security method of the connection, but I don't know.

And Linux laptop can't connect because I don't have option for 64-bit WEP. That's why I thought it might be something to do with ios not connecting.
Morning
Is there a fault with the tethering on this phone? I've tried connecting to my laptop, it finds and connects to the laptop but just says no Internet. So I connected my wife's pixel phone and it connected straight away. Is this another problem in the long line of other problems with this device?

Hmm strange how it connects but says no Internet on my surface book.
Being a UK user we had to wait for the WiFi problem to be fixed, still waiting on the ok Google fix and Google maps is really slow and jerky
This is what I get
ah, I haven't heard about the wi-fi problem.
have you tried with another computer ? Reset your wifi card, DHCP activated ... ?

It's weird if it's working with a phone, but not the computers ...
Mate 10 Pro tehering
I'm having the same issue.
New Mate 10 Pro set up for thethering, Samsung Tablet connets to phone, phone sees tablet, but can't get any internet on tablet through phone. Tablet worked fine with old S5 Neo so not a tablet problem.
Seems to me the problem is with the phone as I see more and more people having the same problem.
Anyone know how to fix this yet?
Thanks
I'm also having trouble so far no apple devices can connect to my hotspot and most Androids cannot connect..A few Androids have connected , but most of the time comes back with authention error, this happens when I use or don't use a password.,I have the latest upgrade 8.0
I had this problem too - devices would connect to the hotspot but not be able to get online.
I found a guide on here saying to reset the APN and change a setting in it... Worked perfectly since. I don't have the guide bookmarked but try searching.

I found my reply in another thread which worked for me:
I had this issue on a Mate 10 Pro - hotspot would connect, but no data throughout. It worked on SIM 2 but not SIM 1, and SIM1 is the main SIM I want to tether using.
I reset all network settings (system, reset, network settings reset), reset the APN (wireless & networks, mobile network, access point name, three dots), added a new APN and that got tethering to work on either SIM slot.
Would confirm that this is the solution - perfect on the three occasions it's not worked in 6 months.

I'm glad it helped someone. I was about ready to sell the phone if tethering didn't work, and spent ages looking for a fix after endless hard resets.
