I have looked throught the treads, but on my new ATRIX I cannot hear anyone talking on my phone unless I put it on Speaker. Please help.
Edit: In the long run, the phone was faulty, and had to take it back. Now working on my 2nd Atrix.

My Phone lights up but no ringtones are heard when a call is being received.
When i answer it (my wife calling from her eris) there is no audio going through so i cant hear her. the same happens when i call her, she answers but cant hear me screaming down the phone, haha.
This happens 1/3 of the time, and is getting annoying. Is there a fix for this, has anyone else had the same problem, should i call Verizon? Can anyone direct/move me to a different thread. Looking for any leads at all.
Both phones Eris 2.1
One manual update
One OTA update.
Non Rooted.
Thanks guys
Jonathan.
Hi Jonathan.
I was having that problem for a while, too. I saw a suggestion on a forum that has seemed to help me. There is an option in your settings on 2.1 that automatically quiets the ringer of your phone when you pick up the phone. I switched this setting to OFF, and it has seemed to alleviate my problems. I hope that helps!
Dear all, my Dell Streak phone speaker is not working. But if i turn on the loud speaker or attach bluetooth/hands free device works well.
I already tried to replace the recovery & rom with stock 322, 345, DJ Steve 1.7.0, 1.9.0, but non of it solve the problem.
Is it due to software problem or hardware problem? How can i check it?
FYI, my DS is never fall to the ground and water.
Can anyone help this poor man?
Thanks before.

Wow, I am almost afraid to root my Streak if this type of issue might occur.
so what should i do rico???
if i've return back to DS service centre at my country, it takes 14 days to repair
Same problem for me.Suddenly stopped working.Only external speaker and hands free works.i have 2.2.2 and the device is with factory settings since i am not familiar with root/flash techniques. If someone knows something about how to fix it it would be nice.In any case,i have already ordered a bluetooth set
I just got my second Dell Streak today. it was shipped to me as 2.2...i ve put my sim, battery and charger and it has asked me to update. now i got 2.2.2. I have tried to make a phone call but, as the same for you guys, my earpiece is not working. BT and speaker phone works well though...
The first streak i had wasnt great either. it always displayed "please send dsp.crash.img to RD" right after an FC on an app that uses sound...this only happens when sounds are used. apps that do not have sound, like browser and messaging, do not trigger the FC. im not sure if you have experienced this too, i hope not.
i think im just not lucky with streaks... im not sure if my warranty will cover a third replacement...
with the second streak problem, im thinking maybe its a hardware fault? like the contacts in the earpiece are loose from the circuit board... i would have done this already if i wasnt afraid of losing my warranty..
it would be great of someone at xda can come up with a solution.
Hi guys,
Sorry if this post is repeated or shouldn't be here, I searched and didn't find anything related.
I think this is my first post, so I'll introduce myself. I'm Antonio from Chile, Southamerica and I always look this forum and it has helped me first with my SGSII, then with mi Atrix 4G and now with my MoPho.
I just got my "new" MoPho from eBay and it's incredible, but somehow the microphone it's not working or working with a very low volume on calls, but now is the strange part: if I record voice with any voice recorder (ie: Easy Voice Recorder Free) or video with the camcorder, the voice sounds clear and fine.
At first thought that somehow, the gsm signal here could be inducing this, but when I borrowed my brother in law's phone (also a MoPho) it worked well without any issues.
I don't know if the previous owner did something to the phone. Besides doing a factory reset, I haven't done anything else.
I think that maybe the noise reduction could be somehow doing this because it's triggered on calls and not on recordings (my guess)
Do you have any other clues?
Thanks for your time, have a nice day!
Antonio.
UPDATE:
I just tried to call with headphones attached (not handsfree) and the voice was clear as water. Unplugging the headphones in the same call returns to the same problem. Could be this related to something that the previous owner did to the software?
I would like to flash the phone to stock, but reading, there's no 2.3.5 SBF for Photon, just for Electrify. I don't need CDMA since I'm in a GSM carrier so flashing the Electrify SBF and the peetr rom would work?
Thanks!
New update.
After doing a fresh install involving the usc sbf and now its working. Perhaps the previous owner modified the phone or messed up.
Thanks!!

DONT FLASH ANYTHING FOR THE ELECTRIFY ON THE PHOTON THIS WILL LOCK YOUR PHONE UP AND REQUIRE ALOT OF WORK TO RECOVER..
Honestly, the mic is mounted directly to the board on the phone, it is NOT serviceable by anyone on a consumer level and Sprint for a FACT can not fix this in house and will constitue a complete replacement. If your not on sprint, you may want to re-lock and put on stock and call MOTOROLA direct and ask for a warrenty claim. The photon has 3 microphone recivers for noise cancelation and better quality but the bottom one is the one that pics up 99% of souns

Hi!
Thanks for your answer. About flashing something on 2.3.5, I don't mind having the bootloader locked since some P-Roms are enough. But the problems that arises is that the microphone is not bad. After updating to 2.3.5 (by mistake, didn't know all the problems that would bring me), all sounds on system lowered their volumes to, I don't know, 1/4 and that's what I am having right now, the microphone has a very low volume, that's why I thought that it was bad, the loudspeaker can be barely hear and the music sounds the same.
Looking at the web, there're a lot of similar cases after the 2.3.5 update.
There's any way to modify something (with sqlite, root explorer, etc) to fix this? Because besides the volume thing, this phone rocks
Thanks!
It is more merky waters when you have jumped into 2.3.5 with the lack of time for devs to gain access to this software. At this time we are still unable to gain unlocked status on the newest update.. you may want to attempt a factory reset to see if the issue was a bad install. You can also pull the update from xda and push a update to your phone you know is good.. not sure on the % effected with sound quality issues but if its a select set of devices that are having this problem attempt to re install the software would be your only choice until the update is unlocked and you have the ability to modify your complete system..

I got an AT&T HTC One X+ about a week ago and I have had this problem since the minute I opened the box. When I am on a call and am using the earpiece (not speakerphone), the person on the other end of the line cannot hear me. All he/she can hear is background noise and garbles. However, when I switch the phone to speakerphone, the issue is gone. I tested out the microphone through the video camera and voice recorder too and both work fine. Anyone know what's going on? A good way to test this out is to call another phone, leave a voicemail message, and listen to the message. Thanks in advance.
Its not a problem.
Just return the thing and get a replacement. Don't waste anytime, just do it.

Yes. I just did. Should be in the mail soon... Hopefully this problem will not be present on the replacement phone...
When on a call, I keep getting this annoying sound kind of like static sounding something like "pukk" ( hope someone got me). It comes just for a second. Nowadays its been happening more than 10 times on a call. Its really getting annoying.
The worst part is this sound comes only when on a call and sadly its not the phone speaker problem since I get it on my earphones too.
This is happening on Stock and ViperOne ROM and the handset is AT&T version which I have been using in India.
Can anybody help me in getting rid of this irritating sound while on a call??
If anybody can help me out here it would be great. Please voice your opinion.. Thanks.
If anybody is facing this problem please try putting another sim card of the same network and of a different network.
This solved my issue, my Sim card was not cut properly hence the disturbance.. Let me know if its d same case with you.
