So since i've been home from college i had no reason to listen to my iPod...and since i left it in my truck while it was freezing cold...now it doesnt work...so now instead of buying a new i'll start using my phone...so what's a good music playing app that'll keep everything organized???
Depends what features you're looking for. If you just want something simple like an iPod the TWiz player is great, plus the notification drawer integration is nice. If you like Winamp and wanna stream music from your computer, then you'd probably like Winamp. The best in my opinion is the more advanced, feature packed PowerAMP. It is a paid app now, but you can try the full version free for a while.

if you have the vibrant.. the stock app is great by itself. Buuuuut If you want a great music app with an equalizer and everything else.. try Power Amp. Its an awesome app and it has a full screen widget.
thanks guys...i just "got" PowerAMP and it looks great...thanks for the suggestions

I actually really like Winamp on my Vibrant.
If you're looking for audio streaming from your pc to your vibrant; you can't beat Audio Galaxy. The best interface out there and it hasn't failed in both quality and ease of use.
Great product though! Also check out mixzing. That's a pretty cool app too...

+1 on Audiogalaxy. Ive been using it for a while now. As long as youre in an area with good coverage/wifi, youll always have all of your music on there. And for me, thats even more music than I can fit on my 120gb music.
But for music on your sd card, the previously mentioned PowerAmp is a great option, sleek UI plus an awesome equalizer.
Im running ginger clone anyone have the link so I can get the stock samsung vibrant music app the phone originally came with it was real nice

i personally use playerpro, loving it. lockscreen functionality too!
I'm big into music on my vibrant and I am using the MIUI music player (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=854766). Give it a look.
Mixzing is the best. Can organize by folder or how ever you want. Can even set it up to only show music in certain folders. So you don't have random sounds like you would in the stock music player. Plus has nice Widgets. And Album art. Very nice player! Also can play video files too. If you want!

If you liked how the iPod / iTunes did things you might enjoy DoubleTwist. Then again, you might just enjoy it anyway. Has an AirSync add-on available too. However, I'm currently using Player Pro. While it's not free, I haven't found it's equal in the many other players I've tried.
you need to try this i love it
{app} miui music player apk
here is the thread
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=854766
+1 for miui, great replacement for the stock player. Myself, my mp3s are nicely organized in folders, and not all of them tagged properly, so I ended up with a ton of "unknown" artist tracks. Found MortPlayer in the market, and it plays by folder, not tag. Saved me a ton of work.
Ginger Clone's of the World Unite! Via the XDA App
Im using Playerpro also. Great app. Not only does it have lockscreen functionality but while locked the volume buttons can be used to change tracks and control volume. Love it

I'll second MixZing. It's awesome.

Audio Galaxy is great, thanks for the tip!
I'm not sure if there is already a thread for music players because you can't search with xda apppppp. Correct me if I am wrong. What do you guys think is the best music player/app?
I really liked the Samsung music player.
Stock one on the atrix sucks I think. It freezes from time to time and does some funky shewt
Edit: I am wrong. You can search......

Ditto. I needed an app that played wav files for work (voicemail forwards) and ended up with an awesome music player.

where did you d/l it from?
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1022979
Has the leaked music app.
Winamp is (in my opinion) the best. It offers everything doubleTwist does plus wireless sync is free. The doubleTwist app on the PC side is sluggish and bloated whereas Winamp is quite speedy and lightweight comparatively speaking. doubleTwist does offer streaming to ps3/360 but you can do that already using DLNA so it doesn't really matter.
DoubleTwist FTW... The leaked music app is good looking but too laggy for my constant use

search for the Connected Music Player, its motorola but 10x better than stock, it does lyrics, internet radio, song tagging music videos and tunewikki community, i love it so much better than stock

Cubed.
I ended up having to root and freeze the default music player so it would stop trying to take over music duties via bluetooth controls. I had that problem with a few other players too, not just cubed, so if you are using it to stream music via bluetooth, something to think about doing.
Cubed.
So smooth and visually appealing.
WinAmp FTNW! (for the nostalgia win!)
Works pretty well too, and has wifi sync. I mostly just use the player in gtunes or pandora though.

+1 the equalizer in this player is amazing - I'm using the headphones setting and it sounds great.
I like DoubleTwist as well.. easy to sync music and movies
PowerAMP
If you haven't tried PowerAMP for a music player, you really haven't unleashed your Android's music abilities. Hands down the best music player you will ever use, and easily worth the $5 to get the pro version. Check it out!
???!!!
The only problem wit this one is that even if u remove the stock player it wont work with bluetooth streaming/controling...
..Maybe were missing some libraries or something a dev could help us please ;-)

Power Amp for me. It has settings for exactly the things that matter to my music needs.

I'm getting a loud pop in between songs when using google play music with cm9 and miui thru headset with headset button manager. Also using DSP with the settings turned up pretty much. It doesnt fc or anything just makes u jump! It does skip occasionally too, dunno if thats just from movement tho when biking.
If anyone can suggest a fix or a good music player i can use even if its not free id try it. It has to work good with headset controller tho.
thanks!
Double twist. You can sync itunes with it

Another vote here for PlayerPro. PAmp was eating battery too fast for me. If you get PlayerPro, make sure to get the free DSP Pack. It makes a big difference in sound quality...

I don't really care much for a nice ui or multiple features and such ( but are a good bonus), but what is the best sounding music player for our phone?
I'm using poweramp now but I just feel there is still something better sounding out there

I have been using Jet audio Plus since it came out. The UK is a bit laggy but sound quality is much better than power amp. Give it a try
Neutron Music Player
Costs a few euros but it's worth it.
A thread in Themes and Apps as well for music players .

I've tried different player and thus far Player Pro has been the best for me. Not only it has a great DSP pack but also very handy features.

Pro Player is the one to go for.
I have iTunes on my PC so I use iSyncer and Pro Player to wirelessly sync my music, ratings & play count with my phone.

I know of that thread of course, but if you read my op this one focuses on sq as the other thread is more general with opinions on ui and what not which are all secondary to me.

I installed neutron free but I wasn't able to try it much cause I got busy then my 5 day trial elapsed lol. But from what little I heard it did sound better than power amp.
I'm maybe thinking of getting this whether I end up using it or not to support the developer. He clearly is in the right direction by focusing on sq first.

I saw many mixed reactions on player pro in the audio thread, mostly saying that development has stopped?
People also love the ui but I read that sq seems less than poweramp. But if there's a free version maybe I'll try it out.

Power amp looks better, neutron sounds better.
It has an option for 64bit decoding, its a real audiophiles player.
Read the blurb on the play store.
The dev is really quick to solve any issues too, I was emailing him back and forth when JB was first ported to the S3 about partitions and the path to internal and external storage and he sent me a few test apks. Cool guy.

Power amp is the best, but I use google player, the ram is more challenging, but the power amp is the best adapted to a setting and effects.
Stock player in JellyBean XXDLIB is good with siyah Kernel, you don't need any other player, but the only thing that sucked is that M4a music files downloaded from itunes are not supported in stock XXDLIB Music player.so...
Best Music Player
For me its TTPOD International version pleaseant to my ears using hip-hop eq. im planning to try the other players that are posted here
The best music player for Galaxy S3..? Hmm...
It would depend what device will you use for listening, but...
In general, if you will use STOCK music player, BUT if you'd connect it via this device you should be more or less happy...
Of course, if I'd be you, I'd expand it a little with for example This small add-on
I know that it has some weaknesses, but you know, I looked for something cheap
I've purchased neutron and it does sound better than poweramp.
I hear more instruments, tones I haven't heard before.
All the settings are still confusing, but it already sounds better in default.
I'll still give jet audio and player pro a go sometime soon.
Thanks for the help guys.

Hello to everyone.
I've been using DFX Sound enhancer on PC from long time ago and I love it. Soon I saw that they've released a player for Android phones and god it's it fine, the sound is perfect. But ofcourse, it has his bad side. Everytime I listen to music and I open a app or I recive a notification the music "stops" for a fraction of a secound. I use a XperiaJ, maybe the app isn't made for low specs phones. Somebody tried it? It feels the same?
Here's the app.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.fxsound.android.dfxplayer.trial
Doesn't lag works fine(xperia sp).
It's very light. Good android 2.3 music player alternative.
Give "viper4android" a try, you'd like it.
