"Could not update Not enough memory, restart phone" - XPERIA X10 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

There was new update available for my xperia x10 so i started downloading using wifi and phone went to sleep when it was still downloading and now everytime i check for software it says New software available. not enough memory, restart phone" and i restart so many time and there is plenty of free memory in phone....
anyone else has same problem...

Try using usb cable and pc companion. Some updates are a struggle on wireless.

Tried that already...it says "Software update information currently not accessible"..

Try doing a repair instead of an update.

Same problem, after update no download.
Uninstall the update and market came back working perfectly as before.
Misteryyyyyyyyyy
As said above. I discovered this solution yesterday but you beat me to it as I currently cannot connect to xda using 3g
Go to menu, settings, applications, manage applications, market, then uninstall updates. This will revert back to factory version for market and you will see the old logo back, but it will also reset market.
Don't worry about update as after a while it will auto update again to latest market version.
Try it out

thank you for the solution...

Obviously I meant which version of 1.6 so 026 would have been a sufficient answer, and I should have asked for build number which is 026.
Anyway Im on 026 and mine has the option to uninstall, is it generic or a network branded version? Maybe its only available on debranded version?

Debrabded

What's your market versions? Mine is 1669. I notice nothing different about the market, looks wise and all. Yet mine is playing up too. Not sure what I can do as it looks to me like I have no updates to uninstall under my application management. I'm running 026 generic.

Yeah im 1669 no options to uninstall

Another way you could try is using a task manager to uninstall, something like "free advanced task manager" there is an uninstall programs feature on it. However I can't guarantee it to work.
Also when the uninstall screen for market shows up it specifically asks you "would you like to uninstall updates? Don't worry you can still use factory version" -- if it doesn't say that then it may completely delete market but Im not sure, but try having a look with Advanced task manager to see if the option is there for you.

I have the same problem.
No updates to uninstall and clear cache doesn't work.

3g is crap for downloading big apps, but 4g is getting rolled out over the next few years so things will be way better then

Has any one a solution for this problem?
greets
problem solved:
if you are on miui rom go to the downloads app , hit the menu button, and klick on download via mobile network. after that it will work on market to
I had this happen for the longest time.... the best thing I've found to fix it.... boot into recovery... and FIX PERMISSIONS. And there will be a straggler or two that still wont install.... uninstall the OLD version of the software your updating.... then install. Works like a dream.

The other weird thing I've found that helps.... get near your wireless routed and wave your phone around it for 10 seconds or so

[Q] x10 MARKET DOESNT WORK

Hi, this week I've been trying to update my apps and download new ones but it would never install as it says (INSTALLATION UNSUCCESSFUL), then when you click on it it says (UNKNOWN ERROR). I'm wondering is anybody having the same problems?
I'm using Z's 2.2 ROM with Black Market that came with it
Had the same problem, used flashtool and had to reflash 2.1 to my device! Working now!
Anything I can do like reflash gapps?

i'm having the same problem with my x10 recently.. nothing downloads from android market. it just stays there downloading forever and closes/opens.
you have to open 'google talk' it should fix this
sent using my wicked awesome premium xda app
google talk is already running...
i tried installing black market (i just downloaded from a website) and still does not work
Having the same problem here, nothing works for me.
All of a sudden, yesterday gmail and market stopped working. I reflashed and market is still not working as it should.
Anybody?
hope they can help you
i use the plabkmarket instead of the original one
because the market is forbidden in sudan for some political sh*t
I had to use flashtool to flash the entire OS back onto the phone, only after flashing, rooting, and reloading everything back onto my phone was I able to get it to work again! Gotta be some weird Market glitch or something. Has happened twice to me, this fixes it every time!

SGP311 wont update to 4.3

I have received notification on PCCompanion that update is ready for tablet. And i have started it it passes through stepa until it has to actually update tablet. So download is made, preparation is made and at that point update window on win7 just shuts down and nothig is happening. Tablet stays on 4.2.2.
I have checked in task manager on computer sony update agent is also shut down...
Ok. Addition: it looks like when PC has to reboot tablet to start actual update nothing happens. When i connect tablet with USB cable which is original one that came with the tablet, PC Companion recognizes tablet.
also i have tried to uninstall and reinstall complete PC companion, (also deleted sony folders in program data folder) but still no success with update
Any advice what could be wrong or if it is required some more info what to provide.
Thanks in advance.

Try disabling your antivirus and firewall then try to update... if it don't work get another computer to update it, if you cant get another computer.... Download the firmware and the flash tool, to flash it manually....
And who says it Has to be done from PC Companion ?????????????????

If the problem is still thereReflash your firmware via flashtool or repair via PC companion

Sounds like the same issue me and others are experiencing with 2.4 GHz networks: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2795344.
Hopefully it's just a driver issue and a future software update will fix it. I can manage for now, I've got 5 GHz APs at work and home, and that works fine. A temporary workaround is disabling Bluetooth if you don't use it, and then reboot your phone. That fixed the problem in my case, at least for a while (but I need Bluetooth for the car and the Smartband).
