Sounds like something is wrong with the accelerometer.
have you tried checking if the auto rotation option is selected in settings>display?
if that doesnt work try doing a factory reset, if its still stuck after that then its most likely something wrong and should exchange it.
Yea I did try factory wipe, bah sucks

I have had the Atrix for a week or so now, and my camera seems to act up on me a lot. I will open it up and just get a black screen. Or sometimes I get an error message saying "Oops the camera couldn't be found" or something like that. I'm just wondering if it's a software issue, or if I should go to AT&T and get another one.
Go to ATT and show it to them. That shouldn't be happening.
Haven't had any issues with my cam.
I keep thinking it's got to be software related because it keeps working, like right now it works, but if i shut the phone down and turn it back on, sometimes it won't work. i've already wiped all user data and factory reset.
Unfortunately the same thing started happening to me today.
This is seriously annoying.
Did either of you get this resolved?
Please say one of you have resolved this problem. I can get the camera app to start but it never displays anything on the screen. My phone is unlocked and I bought it third-party so I can't take it back. I pretty much have to remove the battery to get the phone back to normal.
Have you guys tried doing a fresh flash and factory reset?

Yes. I've also formatted the memory, tried to switch to external storage when snapping photos. Nothing. Just going into the camera brings up a black screen and then trying to take a picture or going into settings will lock it solid.
Hi
Today I rebooted my Samsung Galaxy S 2 and for some reason it is not working anymore.
No idea why this has happened
I tried everything Recovery Mode - Cant get into
Download Mode I cant get into
Tried removing the battery then putting it back in still nothing at all
On the back I can feel the phone is getting warm but nothing on the screen
It was working fine yesterday and I havent done anything to the phone yesterday
Please help if you know anything?
Thanks
Sounds like a hardware fail. I hate to say it but it sounds like returning it is the option.

Did you have any update fails recently? Update fails were the reason some Galaxy S phones would not turn on.
Hi
Thanks for the reply
No.
It has the latest software so there wasn't a need for update
It was working fine for the first hour this morning and then I rebooted my phone because it froze but now won't turn on at all.
Should of backed up my data!
The device gets warm but nothing on the screen tried everything that is available on this forum.
Do I have to pay for this if it's faulty I only had it about a month now I think?
When plugged in on the usb charger, if you toggle the volume rocker will the display turn on and show the battery level?

- There is nothing, no battery indication, everything is black
Any solution yet?
I ordered a JIG, however I don't know if it helps in case the bootloader is dead

fjosef871: have you tried a JIG to get into download mode?
I just tried to flash my phone with the preroot GB flash and it installed and when I rebooted my phone my touch screen will not work. so I tried to flash it back with the sbf and now im at the activation screen but the touch screen wont work. Any advice of what I can do?
try booting into stock system recovery and doing a data format and then try booting.
Someone On Rootzwiki Is Also Having This Problem Can't Get The Droid To Register Touch.
i believe most if not all of us occasionally lose touch responsivness until the screen is turned off and back on which only takes 2 seconds. But this problem is different of course...possibly related...

Thanks mike.
Ive been dealing with this same issue for atleast 5 hours now and im tired of sbf'ing............idk what to do.......
I booted into stock recovery and did a data reset and its still doesn't work. If I did a SBF will verizon be able to tell it was rooted? I don't want charged for a new phone I might just soak this one in some water.

If you sbf they can't tell you were rooted

No Touch Response
Is you phone charging? I had the same problem, but when I unplugged from charger all worked well (until I plugged it back in). I unplugged, went into recovery, factory reset, then did SBF and presto changeo, My phone responded to my touch
Also...
I have sent many phones back to Verizon, still rooted, and have NEVER been charged. When I call I do not tell them it was rooted. With SBF, as long as you cleared data/Factory reset first, there will be no indication it was rooted ever.
my phone is charging I unplugged it and im going to do a factory reset with out it plugged in and see what happens
Thread moved to proper forum since this is not android development.
still nothing
Hardware problem, get a replacement

I have a replacement on its way. So tomorrow ill be up and running I think ill just wait for GB to come from verizon this time.
Since yesterday, i've not been able to access my phones camera, each time i open it, it just freezes and gives me a camera failed error message and force closes, i even tried factory reseting my phone, that went in vain too and none of the applications like instagram are able to access the cam too. Can somebody help me out with this?
Logcat?

Looks like it's time for warranty return mate. If factory reset is also failing, high chance of camera hardware malfunction I'd say.

sadly, i got it from dubai and i stay in india. so theres no warranty here!
Personally I'd open it up and check if the connector has come off. Would take 10 minutes for the whole process.

No need for warranty. It's just a software bug. Factory reset (soft reset) won't help, but a hard reset will get the job done. Trust me, the exact same thing happened to me. After you fix it, do not attempt to switch to the front camera again until the next software update, which surprisingly came today for me (i9300BUALF1).
In order to hard reset the phone, shut it down, reinsert the battery and hold the volume up and the home keys pressed while turning the phone on. In the menu that will be presented chose to wipe cache partition, then wipe data/factory reset and there you go, your camera will be working like a charm in no time, the one on the back, of course.
Hope this helps!

I got a similar problem on my S3. Received my replacement device a few days ago and restored an old backup from my first S3. What a dumb idea Probably this nandroid restored the wrong camera-firmware.
Every camera start a "warning- unknown error" message pop-up.
Can someone please post both camera fw's as flashable CWM?
(GDFE01 & ZDFE02)
I have the same problem here, soft reseted, hard reseted, flashed stock Rom again,
no dice?
I turned on "show CPU usage" in developer options and my camera is back.
Could be just a coincidence, but unlucky ones can try anyway
u may try *#34971539# to check the firmware, voltage etc
U dug up an old thread man xD
Anyway, i experienced the same problem.. i did a hard reset, flashed almost everything and etc.
But it was a factory defect, a hardware problem :\

I fixed it on my SGH-T999L with Jedi Invasion 5 by flashing this kernel http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=1756776
Use the Touchwiz JELLYBEAN 4.1.2 VERSION :good:
I have a rooted V10 that was working perfectly. Today I turned it on and my second display is black. I toggled through the settings and nothing works. Anyone have any ideas???
I would try a battery pull, and if that dosn't help back up data and factory reset? after that return to store.... sorry to hear about the issues....

However 2nd screen still works in recovery.
