[Q] Anyone else having problems with the camera? - Atrix 4G Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I have had the Atrix for a week or so now, and my camera seems to act up on me a lot. I will open it up and just get a black screen. Or sometimes I get an error message saying "Oops the camera couldn't be found" or something like that. I'm just wondering if it's a software issue, or if I should go to AT&T and get another one.

Go to ATT and show it to them. That shouldn't be happening.
Haven't had any issues with my cam.

I keep thinking it's got to be software related because it keeps working, like right now it works, but if i shut the phone down and turn it back on, sometimes it won't work. i've already wiped all user data and factory reset.

Unfortunately the same thing started happening to me today.
This is seriously annoying.

Did either of you get this resolved?

Please say one of you have resolved this problem. I can get the camera app to start but it never displays anything on the screen. My phone is unlocked and I bought it third-party so I can't take it back. I pretty much have to remove the battery to get the phone back to normal.

Have you guys tried doing a fresh flash and factory reset?

Yes. I've also formatted the memory, tried to switch to external storage when snapping photos. Nothing. Just going into the camera brings up a black screen and then trying to take a picture or going into settings will lock it solid.

Random Reboots, I'm baffled

Hey guys, is anyone else getting these random reboots? Its happened several times now and I got the phone on Friday morning. Last time it happened ( 10 min ago), i was in XDA app. When it reboots the red charging LED comes on for a second. I have no idea why its doing this.
Return it.
Are you sure I should return it already? I was wondering if maybe it was common among many people.
Sounds like a faulty phone, simply go get another one. Sprint knows there is going to be issues and will be happy to replace them. I nor my friends have had a problem with it yet.
yeh sounds defective...i haven't had a single non-initiated reboot since wednesday...

Ehh alright i really didn’t want to have to return it or anything. Guess I'll take it to sprint later this week
At least do a clear storage first. Then see. That's probably the first thing they would do... and then they would tell you to come back if the problem continues. This way, you have at least eliminated that as a possibility. Also, what all did you install? This could be an app doing it.
Yuppers...no reboots here. Not since the Hero days I'd say its an app or your phone.

I just got a random reboot while using speedtest.net app. I ran like 4 in a row, then suddenly it shut down and booted up. I am pretty sure I'll be returning mine, as I've had a slew of other random bugs/issues going on. I was trying to determine if it's just buggy software, or if there is a problem with the phone.
What other issues do you, have? I noticed one otjer thing that htcs task.manager and the built in running services from the settings app show different amounts of memory and amt used/free. I'm betting this is just software issue. I really dont want to have return and resetup my phone

Get all the updates and then do a factory reset and see how it works after that.
I had the random reboots. I tried hard reset without any apps and without setting up email and I'd still get the reboots randomly. I exchanged it for another one at Bestbuy and I haven't had a single reboot since. Even with all my apps, email, and calendars setup. I'd return it! Also, I did not install the updates on either phone. I just tried the speedtest.net app four times in a row and I did not get any reboots. Let me know if you want me to check out anything else.
I was having the same problem before and after otas. I was also getting a blank screen once in a while too. I got mine wed and probably pulled the battery about 20 times. Finally broke down and did a factory reset by holding the volume key down when powering on and selecting factory reset. Its been fine so far. I also wiped 16gb sd card from evo, formated it in phone and only copied media files over.

I did the same as you too. It seemed better at first but then it started again. I also found that after erasing the sd card with the phone I had folders that where inaccessible after android created the new ones. I ended up formatting the card with windows and deselected the quick format option. That fixed the problem with the sd card. Note all this stuff was with my first phone. The replacement has been flawless.
I'm gonna hold out another week, if I get any reboots in that time, it's back to sprint for a new one.
I got mine on Friday, then all of a sudden out of no where I started getting random reboots last night about every 10 minutes, then when I was able to get it to stay on for a while the screen would just go black and the buttons stay lit up though. Oddly enough it was doing that all last night and all this morning, until about 9 this morning and since then it's been running fine. I was able to track down my problem somewhat at least, for some reason it kept trying to sync my exchange account and it was unable to sync, and every time i tried to open up that email account to delete it, the screen would go blank. Even though everything is working know I'm still going to the sprint store today to see if they will exchange it.

[Q] Screen Problems following ICS Update

Hey guys, so I just updated my att galaxy s2 via kies to android ICS however after that I've ran into some problems.
After updating however I encountered a period where the screen went black and the phone kinda just died on me. After restarting I began to encounter some problems. For some reason, whenever the phone goes to sleep and and then wakes up, my screen gets flipped upside down and the screen gets really bright. Despite that, I still have to press the screen like usual. Which means that if the call button is at the top after flipping, I still have to press the bottom of my screen. Also the screen isn't perfectly flipped and there is space above the top bar.
However, the phone does work fine on bootup, and only fails after it sleeps. Also, very recently my phone just went through a screen repair after the screen cracked under the glass, but otherwise that I have no clue what's going on.
Is this just a poor repair and a hardware problem or is their another problem here?
Also I've tried a factory reset and that didn't help.
Thanks for any help you can give.

considering this board is all about CUSTOMIZING devices... I dunno about that. Maybe try the AT&T site?
Maybe one of our divas will be kind enough to help anyway.
Yes, I mean divas, also referred to around here as devs. I <3 u all!

Yeah I kinda got that gist =P
but, after searching through the web, there weren't really a lot of sites that I came across detailing about my problem, but this was one of the sites that came up a lot so I was just hoping if anybody, just anybody could help me out with this.

There are alot of things that could go wrong when flashing ROMs.
All of the custom ROMs here have built in safeguards which allow users to recover from issues involved with flashing. The same cannot be said about stock builds.
Unfortunately, your options are limited if you're going to stay stock. You can either try a factory reset and re-installing the update via KIES or you can call AT&T. That's pretty much it.
Personally, i'd Mobile Odin a rooted package with CWM and start flashing some of the wonderful work the developers have graciously allowed us to partake.

OP, I agree with the sentiment here, but you can't use mobile odin until your are already rooted. One option you could follow the guide linked in my signature to root the phone and go from there.
My personal suggest is that if you're running stock ROM, updating an official stock ROM and having problem, I call the provider for help.
My download and install went fine but I incounterd some unusual problems afterwards. My phone doesn't always keep a data signal while browsing the internet and a phone reboot makes it return. Setting browsers home to Google instead of default AT&T doesn't stick. I also had few dropped calls and very low signal bars in status bar at my house which gingerbread gave me full ones.
same here

Did you managed to fix it?
Any help would be greatly appreciated

[Q] Having some problems need some advice please?

Okay so first off I love my One. It's great, best phone I've had.
I'm having a few problems recently and I need to know a plan of action here.
Main problem is that I CONSTANTLY go into NO SIM mode and lose my service when the phone's screen is off. then it takes forever to get it back.
I thought it might have been because of the battery defender I got when it was free for app of the day but I uninstalled and factory reset and nope it still constantly happens.
Second problem is that when I am talking the other person sounds like a robot and I have to hang up and try the call again to see if it will work. Sometimes it's find sometimes it's just awful.
Third I have a dead pixel and it drives me up the wall!!!
Okay so I have had the phone since mid April so I'm not sure what I should do?
My phone is with Telus. Locked, Stock everything is normal.
Thanks in advance!

Well for the first take out the SIM card and clean with an eraser. I've been having the no SIM problem about a week ago, and after cleaning the SIM contacts, it hasn't happened since.
Second, I don't know, I don't have that problem.
Third download dead pixel fixer from the PlayStore, and run it a couple of times to see if it can fix your dead pixel issues. Hope I helped at all.

[Q] Not sure what's wrong, random reboots, battery or ram issue?

EDIT: Wow the issue was really REALLY stupid. turned out i was using a HUGE picture as my lockscreen wallpaper, and it was causing hang ups because I guess it was trying to load that huge picture into ram every time it went to sleep or something. change the picture, everything was fine. I'm really dumb.
My galaxy s2 has been fine pretty much since launch. Switched over to cyanogenmod a long time ago, been updating to their nightlies about once a month. Recently tho, starting like this week, my phone has been randomly rebooting like crazy, to the point that the phone is unusable. Any thing I try to do results in a soft reset. The fastest way I've found to recreate the issue is to turn on and off the screen twice quickly, causes a crash/reboot, dont know what to call this.
AFAIK I still have access to recovery, odin, etc.
I've tried flashing an older nightly, wiping cache, factory reset, still get crashes really easily. I've ruled out my micro sd card being the problem, it still randomly reboots without it. Any idea what I can do to try and narrow down what the problem is?
Do a clean install of stock in the first instance, run it for a few days & see if it persists. If it stops happening, then obviously something CM-side causing it. If it doesn't replace battery. If that doesn't fix it, take it to a local mobile repair shop for diagnosis.

Wileyfox Swift 2 Touch Input Freezing/Intermittent

Hi,
I am having this problem with my Swift 2 running 7.1.2. Very frequently the touch input freezes, sometimes every 10 seconds, sometimes less frequently. The content on the screen doesn't freeze, just the touch input.
I have tried everything I can think of, uninstalling apps, taking out SD + SIM cards, clearing caches, safe mode and recently a factory reset but the touch input is still intermittent... It happens so often now that the phone is almost unusable. I feel like it is a software issue because when the touch input does work, it works fine.... confused.
Any ideas?
Cheers,
Callum
Was literally about to post this, I get it maybe 10 times a day for no apparent reason. Phone and apps carry on just fine, but touch just stops for a few seconds.
Mine has got progressively worse. It started with the touch input freezing just trying to answer an incoming call... but now it freezes more than not, even just writing a text message can take over 5 mins just waiting for the touch input to respond again.
I'm >>>| |<<< this close to just buying a new phone.
I'd let Wileyfox sort it out. (yeah I know, it's a pain to lose your phone for a while, but hey, that's why we have warranty isn't it?)

True - I logged the issue with their customer support last week.... so we shall see when they get around to responding.
Thought I would ask on here anyway in case it was a software issue that could be corrected without returning the handset.
I've had this issue for months with my Swfit 2. I've tried a factory reset, cache clear. Even reverted to Andoird 6. Still get the intermittent freezing. I contacted Wileyfox who didn't help. Switching the screen off then on again resolves it, but it's very annoying.
Check the quality of the SD card

Sounds familiar - switching the screen off and on used to help but doesn't do anything now. The touch input is now frozen most of the time, I'll be lucky if I can write a text message... can just about answer calls for now. Think I may have to admit defeat and get a new phone.
