predictive text - Gen8, Gen9, Gen10 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

any way to get predictive text back working on Archos 101. Just stopped working for me.
thanks

Gingerbread keyboard (free in market) works great for me.

I like SwiftKey for both my A101 and A43. The predictive text is almost creepy.
Bye.

Physical Keyboard and swiftkey text prediction, an awesome combination

You know, using swiftkey as the default input and slide out the keyboard, the annoying useless blue box got replaced with a white text prediction board. It works the same as the virtual one but of course since we are using physical keyboard, our speed will increase and augmented by the text prediction of swift key, the speed will increase even further.
And by the way, swiftkey prediction can predict your next words very accurately and for me, it is the best text prediction ever. Search the market for swiftkey and try it yourself.
+1 for Swiftkey!
the best text prediction for me too!
*one thing i noticed tho when using the physical keyboard,
there's no way to input other symbols...i've to close the keyboard and use the onscreen keyboard to input symbols and/or smileys...
Yeah, that's the one problem. IF we want to add symbol, we would have to revert back to default input. Shame, no one has develop an apps that completely designed for mini pro (AKA, symbol buttons work)

This is the most annoying thing about the phone.. It doesn't even have a % symbol. So frustrating!

Looking for an alternative to the HTC Touch Keyboard in Phone Keypad format.

Hi Folks
I've been looking for an alternative to the HTC Touch keyboard.
I generally use the keyboard in Phone Keypad(T9) format but the Touch keypad tends to lag a bit sometimes.
I'm looking for something that works exactly the same as the Phone Keypad but doesn't lag.
Everything else i have downloaded from the market is Qwerty only. I can type much faster with the Phone Keypad with predictive text than qwerty.
so far i've tried:
Anysoftkeyboard
Better Keyboard 8
Gingerbread Keyboard
Keypurr
SlideIT
Thick buttons
But none of these have a decent Phone Keypad(T9) format, they are all qwerty or variations of qwerty.
Any help appreciated!
try "smart keyboard". i m using smart keyboard, and have not even felt the need for any other keyboard.
Cheers for that i've donwloaded it and its seems ok so far but can't give a full assessment without the english dictionary.
But the pro version with the English dictionary cost £1.68! Bit steep for an app which i cant try fully b4 i buy.
Most Apple apps are £0.59p!
Better Keyboard 8 has phone T9 layout!
Tried all the ones on the market, they all have good points but none are perfect. If you took all the good points from all of them u would have the perfect keypad but at the moment the Sense keypad still out does them all.
It just feels better and has a much better dictionary setup and just more user-friendly.
Just the stupid lag which i have to put up with. Mind u the other keypads also had occasional lag but i think its just to do with the phone, it simply can't multi-task.

[Q] Did the ASUS keyboards trace functionality break with ICS?

I had stopped using the ASUS keyboard pretty much as soon as I got the Prime. What I didn't know was that it had the trace feature built in. I've gone back to it to test it out and see how well it works only to find it non functional. The checkbox is ticked in settings but tracing just isn't working. Did this break with ICS?
same here. i didnt realize asus keyboard had trace. it wouldn't work on my browser's url field but it's working for this post.
it seems like it works fine everywhere except the default prime browser url field.
what is trace?
its sliding your finger over the letters on your on screen keyboardl like
It consists in sliding from one letter to another instead of 'typing'. See Swype, SlideIt and other keyboards on the Market.
Very efficient on phones as you can 'type' with one thumb without needing to use your both hands. Didn't try yet on my tablet, I installed Thumb Keyboard.
Works perfect for me. I use a different keyboard but I tested it on mine & my chick uses it daily on hers.

T9 Texting on Samsung Fascinate

Hello, Can someone tell me if there is an APP I can download to my Samsung Fascinate so that I can use T9 Texting. I do not like the Swype, and I want to be able to text with one hand, and the Swype is not that accurate. I just don't like the QWERTY keypad. I just want the touch screen T9 like I had on my LG Dare (that died or I would not be having this problem)
The keyboard app I use has a T9 mode with lots of settings, although I don't ever use the T9 mode myself. I absolutely love the keyboard though, it's the only one that I can stand to use. Smart Keyboard Pro is the name of it.

Samsung keyboard No predictive text?

When i type on French (CA), either by swipe gesture or normal typing, there is no predictive text that comes out above the keyboard. Though English (US) works fine and there's predictive text.
Tried restarting, turning on and off, etc... still no luck. It woks fine on my note 8 with French(CA) but just not this S9+...
Anyone knows what is the problem?
Thanks.
