hi
I have a HTC HD2 with an 8 gig card that works fine, I have bought a 16 gig and put it in the phone and the phone wont load it freezes at the white screen with htc on and I have to take the battery out.
I have tried it in another windows phone and it works fine and it works in my galaxy pad. any help will be appreciated.
regards
Have you tried reformating the SD card? Also did you by it online or in a store as a lot of fake SD carda are floating around on the internet.

I connected my HD2 to my laptop using activesync, then when I opened explorer on the PC to go to the /StorageCard directory, found that it wasn't there. So, I tried exploring to the directory in the HD2, but found that it couldn't see the card. I've shutdown the phone, taken out the MicroSD card, and hooked the MicroSD card up directly to my laptop, and it appears just fine, and I can copy/write to the card without issues. I've tried cleaning the contacts, and putting it back in the phone, but the HD2 still doesn't see the card.
Anyone else have this happen to them before? Any hints on what else I can try?
BTW, it's a Kingston 16GB MicroSD card, and it's been working reliably without any issue until today.
Right.. I tried putting in a newly formatted 2GB MicroSD card, and the HD2 was able to see it without problem. So I'm now backing up stuff from my 16GB Kingston MicroSD, and will probably re-format it to see if that will help.. Just a big hassle having to backup/copy back almost 15GB of stuff from the card..
During the backup process, there were a few files on the MicroSD that couldn't be read, so, could it be that the card is going bad?
OK. Finally finished backing up the MicroSD card, and reformatted it. After reformatting, the HD2 now SEEs the newly formatted card, I only have to copy stuff back onto the card, then I'm done..
I'll probably end up going out to buy a new card tomorrow as it's pretty obvious from today's "adventure" that this card is probably on its way out. Oh well, now that I have the data backed up, it should be relatively painless.

I lost my 8GB Card few days back. Lost all the data... Atleast your card was readable on PC. Anyways good that you got your data back..

i have had to reformat my card once because I accidently removed my phone from the PC without using "safely remove hardare" (aka right click and select eject) feature. formatted the card and restored from backup and all is well again.
Done! Copied files from backup to 16GB MicroSD, and the HD2 sees it.
There were altogether 4 unreadable/corrupted files from the MicroSD card when backing it up, but fortunately, none of these files were irreplaceable, luckily, as all these were MP3 songs, which I also have other copies on my laptop.
Tomorrow, I will take a look to see how much the new Sandisk 32GB MicroSD card is selling for here in Hong Kong. If it's not TOO expensive, I may end up buying one to replace the 16GB Kingston I'm using now. I remember reading somewhere that the HD2 is supposed to be compatible with up to 32GB, but has anyone actually tried the new Sandisk 32GB card in an HD2?
I've had a similar issue with my 16 GB Sandisk card. Strangely, my old TyTn II could read it absolutely fine - but my HD2 couldn't :/
Only way i found to fix it was to format it, then copy all the stuff back.
It's happened twice now and it's pretty annoying!

I've been using a 32Gb Sandisk since June this year, with no problems. I've got about 27Gb on the card.

I have had the same thing, changed from a 8gb card to a 16gb lexar card from play.com. I copied all the files from the 8gb to the 16gb.
Turned the phone on did exactly what you described, turned it off and back on and everything worked. I tested the lexar card before i used it, it gave no errors.
Restarted the phone again, had the problem again, turned off and back everything worked.
This was yesterday, justed restarted the phone, all ok.
Mine is a stock orange uk phone.
How do i check the card from where can i get the tester
I used H2testw.
I have the Galaxy s3 from us cellular, im running the latest update of the software, the build number is IMM76D.R530UVXALI4, running andorid 4.0.4, the hardwar eversion is R530U.01. Now my problem is my recently puecahsed 32 gig PNY drive will "disconnect" from my phone and reconnect all in the same moment from turning the phone on. I also cannot transfer files onto my sd card easily, with the 32 gig PNY, or with the 8 gig Samsung card I first used which gave me no problems like the PNY one does. Overall file transfer to the sd card while it is in the phone is a pain in the ass, but before i used the 32 gig PNY card it was easier. I mean it didnt take so long and wasn't as selective of which files it could and couldnt take. I have no idea what the problem is, I have reformatted the sd cards multiple times and so far the 8 gig Samsung one still works, while the 32 gig PNY one gives the error message everytime the phone is powered on for use.

Is anyone else having the issue where the SD Card randomly unmounts itself and then remounts? I have already wiped and reformatted the card with the Note2 but the issue is still present. any solutions or answers?
I have the Tmobile version, but I have the same issue. I even did a full format of the card on my pc, but it made no difference. The card sort of works, but sometimes instead of the 'preparing sd card' I get the 'blank or unrecognized file system', and then I have to wait for the phone to go to sleep. It will usually wake up and recognize the card then, but all links to files on the card are broken. FYI, my card is a SanDisk 32GB Class 4. I tried an older 8GB card and did not have the issue, but then again, my 32GB card worked for a month with no issues. Very perplexed.

I have a Sandisk Ultra 32GB card. I only have music on it which I've only tested out a couple times, but never had this issue pop up at any point. Perhaps it is the format of the card? I do not remember reformatting mine before putting stuff on it. If you can, try testing another card or putting yours in another device to see if it's the card itself.
I had a 32GB Class 6 Sandisk Ultra, which was also used and worked perfectly in my GS3.
I went to my verizon store had my phone replaced.. threw the SD card back in, and it still had the issue. Put a normal 16 GB SD card in it, haven't had the issue yet. So I guess somewhere in the process of switching between my GS3 and the Note2 the card somehow got corrupted or broke??
Looks like I'll be buying a 64GB class 10 card soon lol

Me too. Class ten and no problems.

hi guys me and the mrs both got Samsung s3 and with bought both 32 & 64gb micro cards to load music onto but though the music does load with in days the phone says the card is corrupt and needs formatting and so we lose all our loaded music and have to reload it all again, this is happening every few weeks or so and now becoming a real pain.
we bought the cards of ebay and are just cheap branded cards we have tried around 4 different cards now and all do the same.
do you think it may be that its just cheap cards or has anyone else had this problem of losing all the data on there cards on Samsung phones?
was thinking of buying Kingston cards but they cost loads and don't want to pay that sort of cash out if there not going to work either
any advice would be great
Thanks

Easy way to check is if the phone say's it is corrupt and needs formatting don't format it take it out plug into your pc with a sd card adapter and check the contents. If you can read and play the contents then it is the phone software that is the problem if not the cards are at fault and it would probably be a wise investment to get a better card.
Cheap sd cards on ebay are usually fakes, much smaller cards rigged to read what is printed on them.
You can download a tool on your pc to check the real capacity.
