No. The SMS and launcher replacements were made BECAUSE of the limitations the stock ones provide.
May I ask why you prefer the TouchWiz apps? If its just the theme, handcent/GO SMS can be themed to look pretty close. As for launchers I prefer LauncherPro, but with ADW you could easily make a TouchWiz style launcher (right down to the iPhone style app drawer), and still get the notifications you're looking for.
Adw launcher and adwnotify app are definitely the best options for you. You can set it to look exactly like touch wiz (you won't even know) it's a different launcher if you set it correctly.

IDK I just like twiz because it feels fuller. I tried ADW and liked it but I just had a nagging feeling to go back to stock. Maybe Ill give it another shot? But for right now I am very happy with the twizgtg launcher.

SMS unread count is a cool widget. It is the gingerbread messaging icon and you can't tell the difference until It has the little red bubble that tells you that you have an unread message

No. The icon for the app can only be one .png. No animation or changing images of any kind. That's why its a widget. If this is something you want so badly, TouchWiz is not for you. It just isn't conducive to this kind of customization. As I said before all the above apps/widgets were made because you just can't do these kind of things with the stock launcher.

Maybe I should give ADW another try after all. Damn! lol
Haha I wasn't trying to sound harsh. But doing a mod like this to the Twiz launcher is a lot more extensive than you might realize, and may not be totally possible. The devs of these other apps have preemptively heard your cries, and produced multiple solutions for your problem.
is there any possibility to make sth like in sms unread... bo with my own icons? some different apps?

Ok, so im coming from WP7 and i really liked how that showed notifications on the lock screen. If you havent seen it, this is what it looks like:
http://bfitz.me/wp-content/uploads/2011/03/IMG_0374-300x244.jpg
Basically, im looking for something similar for android. I have WidgetLocker so its just a matter of finding a program that displays like that. I tried Executive Assistant, and its ok, but i dislike the fact that i can press the notifications and see previews, and then navigate to the full app. I just want a display that shows how many calls and how many texts/emails ive missed since i last looked at my phone. Does this exist? Or will I have to create it?
best solution i can think of is go launcher ex with go launcher notification. works with their sms app and googles gmail app

You could download Widget Locker and add some widgets to your screen. That's probably the closest you will ever get.
I have widget locker but i cant find appropriate widgets. Does anyone have any suggestions?
I found Missed It!, seems like the closest im going to get. I dont care about the icons, just wanted a notification on the lock screen that doesnt call out a program when you touch it (because that kind of defeats the purpose of a lock screen, if you can bypass it).

http://goo.gl/y2ec5 Widget Locker is based in ADW so the ADW notifier app should work on WidgetLocker regardless of what launcher you are running. When installing WidgetLocker you should have been presented with this info and prompted to download the plug in.
Hats off to you if you can create it.

You need SMS Unread Count from the Market. Icons are custom.

I use smsunread count too but think of this, if anyone has used phantom music player they know it can remain "hidden" until touched. Well I was just thinking of working on a new project thanks to this very thread.
- A widget that remains hidden until a number reaches any value above "0". This way you can put it on your lock screen and its not there, Just like wp7, until its activated by receiving a txt, email, call etc... now heres the question. Should it be 1 widget where they all light up when 1 is activated, or have individual widgets similar to smsunread. I think individual would be a better touch. Time to get to work.

if you hold down on an icon in tool mode of widgetlocker there is a little slider box to disable touches. This will allow you to see the notifications or have anything on the screen without tapping it by accident

You can't bypass the lock screen with Widgetlocker. If you press a sms, mail, or call icon it takes you to the main lockscreen which shows when you are not using Widgetlocker. Then it takes you to the app after you unlock from there.
If you are using Widgetlocker in Tool mode, it will take you to the app right away, but that's because your device is not locked in Tool mode.

Using the stock TouchWiz, add the stock Messages app to your homescreen. When you receive a text you'll get a little red badge with the number of notifications on the top right corner. Same with email and several other stock apps I think.

You could try using Go Locker or Widget Locker, or a similar lockscreen replacement. That's probably your best option.
Other than that, I don't believe you can... You can get it to show up in the notification bar, but it won't stay up; you'll have to read it right when you got it. When it finishes scrolling through the message, it'll go away.
Handcent has a popup that might work for you. Not a lockscreen though.

I'm pretty certain you can install and use GoLocker without GoLauncher. It should let you select the launcher you want it to go to, just like the other lockscreen replacement apps.

Try widgetlocker + pure messenger widget.
SmsPopup is excellent, been using for a while now and really like it, you don't need to replace your messaging app, it just handles the notifications with a nice pop up and quick-reply feature. And its free, no ads.
My SMS app (free) has a setting to allow a text to show on the lockscreen
SMS Popup is the closest thing you can get if u don't want the extra packaging(IE: Handcent) although just remember it might drain your battery if youre conservative although you won't see much of a difference just make sure to turn off notifications on the SMS on the OS to avoid any conflict because the app has its own notification

I've been using Nova Launcher with Widget Locker and TeslaUnread (ADW Notifier works too). Basically, when I get a notification, I get a tiny icon my lockscreen button that I have to slide and I just slide it to my messaging app shortcut (which has the notification) and voila. It's not the same but it's similar and gets the job done. I have it going for K9 mail too.

+1, or any other SMS widget (e.g.). Search for "SMS Widget" on the market.
go sms will allow it as well. and you can customize the entire appearance settings as you can in handcent but with the pop ups included. and you dont have to download any of the other go services to be able to use it. if you dont like the look or use of gosms try handcent instead. i used it for a long time with hardly any issues
The stock Samsung S3 messaging app it terrible, freezes up every time I try to send a text following the restoring of my 12K in text messages, while Go SMS Pro handles them fine. I really like Go SMS Pro but the system tray (launcher) icon is terribly ugly, I would like to switch it out with something similar to the stock messaging app and rename it Messaging. I realize you could download a launcher but I would like to keep it stock.
Also, is there any way to have Go SMS Pro handle the 'messaging' lock screen shortcut, which would direct you to Go SMS Pro versus the stock messaging app from the lock screes?
Any help would be sincerely appreciated!

I did have a suggestion. Back them up. Phone will run a lot better. Wasn't trying to be a smart a$$ I was just saying i just don't see the point in storing 12k text on ur phone when u can back them up and still have access to them when u need them
To be honest, I don't think many apps are designed to hold that amount of messages and still perform at peak levels

That's def way too many text. You have to keep in mind that when there's more thing to read, the slower it gets. It's like putting thousands of JPGs in one folder on your PC, you'll notice the speed difference.

I've been there, I've done that, and while I agree that the stock sms app is crap, 12k is way too many messages. (I was around 8.5k myself before cleaning)
I backed them up, deleted them all, and started fresh. It's just best that way.
I know most users are the reverse of me, but here's my puzzle.
I love AOKP in almost every way except... I really love the TouchWiz contacts/dialer (go figure). I use the swipe left to sms/right to call at least once a day. To the point that I went back to Shostock3 (and its battery-heavy ways) so I could have this core functionality back.
In the stock SGS2 thread, someone asked the question of whether there's a contacts/dialer replacement that acts like TW contacts/dialer and nobody responded.
So I'm asking here... Does what I'm looking for exist?
EDIT: refined title

When I open a contact in exDialer to SMS, it opens the default messaging app... But if I start out in the messaging app and want to call the person, then I am SOL. The nice thing about the TW integration is that any time you interact with a contact (from any of the three apps) is that the swipe left/right thing works.
As a result, I am now looking for a messaging replacement app that can also do the swipey thing.
Far as I know there isn't anything like that for AOSP, but if you DO find something that works the way you want it to let us know.

Not sure I get it. Are you talking about the AOSP Messaging app? There's a call button in the title bar. Furthermore, if you press on the contact icon, a popup appears, and you have the option to do a lot more than call them. You can send an email, map their address, etc.

You could try flashing shostock3 (that's what I'm on) and backing up the dialer with Titanium (and the messaging & contacts apps, whatever you need) and then reflashing your current rom and restoring the app without data. There probably wouldn't be any data to restore at that time anyway.
But, I have no idea if that will work, or if it will give you problems or even brick your device (which I doubt would happen), but there was a thread where someone did something like that with the Touchwiz task manager. I think they were running a TW ROM on an N7 and went back to a AOSP ROM and it worked perfectly.
Good luck. I personally am a big fan of touchwiz, especially with a nexus style blue theme to the toggles and other system colors instead of green. Samsung has some pretty awesome user friendly stuff like the swipe to call/text, the quick toggles, even the s planner calendar app stands out.

Yeah, I understand that functionality exists, but that's not what I'm looking for. It's less elegant (for me). I'd rather have a certain specific one-touch experience rather than the two-click experience.
And TouchWiz apks, as far as I've read, don't work on non-Samsung kernels.
