Browser mysteriously closing? - Thunderbolt Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

So recently I've been having an issue with the browser closing automatically with no force close message at all. No clue why it does it. Any help?

Could you possibly be hitting the capacitative home button at the bottom?

Yeah I'm sure.

[Q] Home button sends to dock

First off I'm new to the Gtab. I'm currently running Vegan 5.1. Everytime I hit my hard home button it takes me to a switchboard with four buttons. In order to get go my actual home screen I have to select the home icon. This is becoming extremely annoying hitting two buttons every time to get home. Is this normal or am I missing a setting?
What launcher are you using? There is usually a tab in the settings menu for what tapping the home key does.
I'm currently using the VLT launcher just released, but it does the same thing for stock launcher and launcher pro. I scoured the settings and can't find the home button setting. Saw it in Launcher pro but it didn't change anything. Not sure what else to try at this point.
The screen it sends me to appears to be the screen you see when you would place your phone on the dock. It has the alarm clock button, music, home, and gallery button on the bottom with only the time showing.
Button savior works correctly. Unfortunately I'm not a button savior fan. This its the only bug on my tab and its driving me nuts.
Just wanted to update. I read a lot of other Vegan users having this same issue. I ended up freezing the Clock app using Titanium and that corrected the issue. Not sure what other adverse effects that will cause but it worked for me.
Anybody have any other ideas how to fix this? I'm using TNT Lite 4.4 with Launcher Pro. I've set the home button to "Do nothing" in Launcher Pro preferences, and also checked the option that says "Home key to default screen" but neither one of those seems to have had an effect. Thanks!

[Q] where is the hide keyboard button?

Just upgraded from my inspire. Can't seem to locate a hide keyboard button. On my inspire I could also swipe down to hide it.
I imagine with the dragging Swype like input this is now not possible.
I have been clicking the screen to hide, but that's a pain on web pages with ads. Even hitting the submit button here in landscape is a pita.

"Back" capactive button?
You sir/madam are my hero!! I googled and saw the hox had a key for it. Thanks for the quick reply.
I reassigned the back button to mean menu, with long press for recent tasks.
I also just found long pressing home brings up Google now.
Loving this phone.

[Q] Menu button stops working

I've read some posts where the menu and back buttons stop working. In my case, it's only the menu button. Both times have been while I was in Dolphin and wanted to exit the browser via the menu button. The only way to restore it is to reboot the phone. Could Dolphin itself be causing this behavior?
Thank you.

Fingerprint reader as Home button problem

I like using the fingerprint for navigation. If I hold I can return to the Homescreen. This works for everything but browsers which don't exit on hold(unless I tab them first, then it works). Is the browser waiting for a fingerprint read response?? Can I turn it off so it exits like all my other apps?
For me it's double tap that brings the home screen with browsers, not hold.

That doesn't work for me. Well it does if I'm only reading one page infront of opening it (Tap once - back to browsers opening page Tap second time - Back to homescreen).
Holding closes every app but the browsers
Very annoying especially when it works for every other app but the browsers which get used a fair bit.
This is still my major annoyance with this phone. Has anyone found a browser that exits on holding the fingerprint reader?
I believe this is done by design, since the browser makes use of the fingerprint scanner as touch to go back - for people using this feature it would become very annoying to have it return to the Home Screen. The proper use of the fingerprint is to touch to go back, and touch and hold to return to Home Screen, and this appears to be disabled in apps that have a Back button to avoid confusion.
The only workaround I have is to first slide up on the fingerprint to show recent apps and then touch and hold to return to Homescreen.

launcherhijack+nova launcher bug, please help

So I downloaded launcher hijack and nova launcher for a new Amazon fire hd 8 tablet because I thought the home menu was kinda confusing and I wanted a traditional Android home screen instead. All was fine in the beginning but then whenever I would hit the home button to get out of an app it show the home menu for a second but then would send me to the tabs menu instead, even though I didn't tell it to do that. Then once it's in the tabs menu no matter what buttons I push it just keeps sending me back to the tabs menu. One workaround that only works like 25% of the time is that once it sends me to the tabs menu if I click the tabs button to go to the last opened app and then hit the home button it will let me go to the home screen, but like I said, that rarely works. So I was wondering if anybody else has experienced this bug and if anybody could help me fix it as I'm not sure what I did wrong. Thank you for your time.
