Hi guys,
as the title says, I managed to port the Hero/Legend/Gratia/Aria ROMs with Sense to our X8.
To install use xRecovery, busybox+xrecovery preinstalled in rom so you can restore backups after.
If upgrading from my previous rom to newer version, do Advanced Restore and restore only /system partition, all your data will be preserved.
These roms REQUIRE latest baseband version xxx15
Take the new baseband and flasher from my server here
or just the firmware if you have the flash tool already, here
Check if u need update by typing "busybox uname -a", u need this (notice date) :

Thanks again for all who donated, you have covered my weekend beer expenses
I was asked to do new releases to donators first for testing, and official release once bugs are solved.
This sounds like a good idea, if you have donated to me, you will receive an email with password to access to latest updates once its setup.
I believe this is the only way to both show my appreciation and not impact the rest of community.
Once again, no modaco-style, all roms will be shared with everybody in the end.

Here is the tool to check library dependencies in roms.
ld-linux
It is arm-compiled, to setup do these steps :
adb push ld-linux /system/bin/
adb shell
chmod 04755 /system/bin/ld-linux
To see library dependencies run ld-linux on any .so file and it will give u the list.
To install your cooked Floyo rom built from sources, put this script update-script
into
/META-INF/com/google/android/ directory inside update.zip, delete both update-binary and updater-script from it and copy to SDcard.
Now use xRecovery to install it normally.
Once installed, and BEFORE REBOOT reinstall xRecovery files into /system/bin/ directory.
You should also extract original boot.img files into /system/bin/ramdisk.tar and install chargemon from one of my Floyo roms.
To enable adb root and debug mode, put property.tar to /system/bin/ - take it from Floyo rom.
Now it should boot.
If you don't see boot animation of Floyo, try replacing /system/lib/libgsl.so
To fix sound, replace libaudio.so
To fix Vibra and Leds : libhardware_legacy.so
make sure these programs start fine before going further :
app_process
mediaserver
surfaceflinger
If one of these 3 fails, it won't boot.
The following are for network and gsm :
ifconfig
netcfg
dhcpcd
rild
wpa_supplicant - make sure if you run it manually, reported interface is wlan0 and not tiwlan0
The fixes required for ramdisk.tar :
init.rc file should have 2 parts from original sony init.rc that are marked as #SEMC
add original init.delta.rc and init.delta.sh from sony or one of my ramdisks, those are responsible for service declarations.
Rom patching modifications :
/system/etc/firmware/ dir
/system/etc/sensors* files
/system/etc/*.sh files
/system/lib/hw/ dir
/system/lib/modules/ dir
Those are probably required for every rom..

ps. i have xrecovery in the moment. If I restore this with xrecovery, will I be able to go by to my backup afterwards?

i am testing this rom now. no wifi . no network. no gsm/3g. no sdcard support. but over all everything seems to be smooth, i am loving htc ui . touch is working. application is working. widgets are working. dialer is laggy.it is restarting frequently.no camera

no camera. no multitouch or pinch to zoom. must annoying thing is i cant access sdcard. if i can access my sdcard then i can try to change system and try my best and help to solve the problems...

yes you make sure make back up of the current firmware and files and you can get to your previous condition if you are worried about bugs by using xrecovery restore feature.

Put "ChocolateEclair" folder in /sdcard/xRecovery/backup, enter xRecovery, restore backup "ChocolateEclair".
Waiting to be fixed wi-fi,network,restarting,gps,sd and bluetoth.
Finaly one rom for x8.
I just tested it, and it's amazing! Now I understand those people who request HTC Sense for non-HTC phones...

Issues:
open the update.zip and copy the sdcard\scriptz folder onto ur sdcard... i dont know if the rom searches for these files so till i get confirmation keep them on /sdcard/scriptz just in case...
WARNINGS:
DO NOT MESS AROUND WITH THE CHARGEMON FILE WITHIN THE EMBEDDED DUALBOOT OS (else u wont be able to boot into it)
DO NOT USE "XPERIA REBOOT OPTIONS" app within the embedded dualboot OS!!!
Requirements:
Baseband 2.1.xx (preferably 2.1.67)
Main ROM compatible with this baseband
U will need xRecovery v1.0.0 for this to work… Grab it from here: xRecovery v1.0.0 Installers for ALL roms
U will need 210 MB free on /system & 100 MB free on /data
How-to Install:
Reboot into xRecovery v1.0.0
Manually mount /system & /data [Go to main menu of xRecovery -> mounts and storage -> mount /system & mount /data]

Baseband 2.1.65 (X10a - in case of reboot (looping) is required to install this patch) or 2.1.67 (X10i - better under-volt compatibility) (THANKS arkedk)
ATTENTION:
A few considerations before install any patch:
- Go to SDCARD and make sure to delete "scriptz" folder.
- Enter in Xrecovery mode and "Wipe dalvik cache"
- Install the patch
- Reboot
- Go to Link2SD and under properties / more proceed "Link dalvik-cache files" and "Market Fix"
- Reboot again and you are ready to go.
This new version has more and new improvements regarding tweaks (SDCard tweaked, Memory Management tweaked), optimizations and fixed minor bugs. FASTEST and SMOOTHEST SO FAR! Note: Modules are to be installed via xRecovery. Full Package is for all stock applications. Flash if you feel like there's something missing from the rom, but performance will suffer.
*Important tip: The higher your SD card's class number, the better the performance. For example, a class 8 is much better than a class 2 due to higher transfer rates in class 6 compared to a class 2. Your device's performance will vary depending on the SDCard that you have. So choose a higher class number instead a low and be happy.

Installation:
Optional: Back up your mobile data APNs using APN Backup, as they will be erased when flashing this ROM.

1. Factory reset, wipe cache, wipe dalvik cache, and wipe battery stats.
2. Flash the X10.2.X.X.X.X.EWJET.XXx.XX.zip package via xRecovery
3. Reboot and for tweaking purposes, remember to enable "Unknown sources" and Development/"USB debugging" under Settings -> Applications

5. Restore previous APNs settings using APN Backup.
5.1. Configure APNs settings (Internet 3G / H / E)

I am preparing a total new one, but I could create a hotfix as well, so who don't wanna install a new clean rom will be able to install only the hotfix. Thanks for the nice idea

nope got a right baseband, still doesnt detect my sim card. and the rom itself is veryy laggy
I just wonder how you gonna fix gpu issue .435 has? Coz it does 22 fps only, while .24 FW does 29 fps. It's about 30% of performance lost.

So... I was very very very very very very busy, so I didn't have any time to look at this thread, to know what are the bugs of the 2.0 version... I know that some (maybe a lot xD) prefer the 1.2.4 version because it is based on MiniCM7Pro ! But I had no time to work on it, and look into rebase my ROM on MiniCM7Pro !
I am moving to an HTC Sensation tomorrow !
But I will release a last version (2.1), simply the same as the 2.0 but based on MiniCM7Pro !
After that I will never update my ROM anymore because i will give my phone to a friend for him to discover the most powerfull, beautyfull, and best OS for smartphones !
But I will upload my sources to my mediafire account, it will just be a zip file, with all the things I change in my ROM
I discovered XDA through FrAndroid (the most popular French blog on Android) on December 2010 ! Owain94 and MikeVHL just started to make ROMs for this phone (CyanogenMod 6, remember ) and I was very happy to have Android 2.2 on my phone x)

Please re-read this post entirely I've made a lot of change for version 2.0!
This ROM is totally based on Flame.E v0.4 (Bêta) ! This awesome ROM is made by Eyama, don't forget to thank him !
Why this ROM and not MiniCM7Pro or GinTonic.SE ? Because MiniCM7Pro, is too buggy, iptables are not present etc.
GinTonic.SE is an Odexed ROM so I can't do everything I want with the ROM...
So I choose Flame.E, who is as stable as GinTonic.SE and Desodexed
This ROM brings together all the tweaks, theme, ringtones, look and fell that coming from Ice Cream Sandwich (Android 4.0) for our little smartphones !

Installation :

For the new 2.0 version you MUST do the "first install" installation, with all wipes, bootloop, sweats (xD) etc. Sorry for desagrement...
If you are installing this ROM for the first time :
1- Reboot into ClockWorkMod Recovery.
2- Backup your current ROM !
3- Do a Factory Reset/Full Wipe.
4- Go to Advanced and Wipe Dalvik-cache.
5- Install the ROM ("CyanoCream Sandwich (v***).zip").
6- Do an other Factory Reset/Full Wipe.
7- And an other Wipe Dalvik-cache.
8- Now Reboot...
9- ... and you wil get a Bootloop x) it's normal.
10- Remove your Battery during 15 seconds.
11- Put the battery into your phone.
12- Boot into CWM Recovery.
13- Install the first Hotfix ("CCS (v***) Hotfix1.zip").
14- Flash also the modules ("CCS Modules (v***).zip") if you are using the Stock Kernel !
14- And again... Do an other Factory Reset/Full Wipe...
15- And an other Dalvik-cache wipe...
16- Reboot...
17- The ROM work ! But it missing the ICS statusbar layout !
18- So Reboot into CWM Recovery (for the last time ).
19- Install the second Hotfix ("CCS (v***) Hotfix2.zip").
20- Reboot...
21- And now... ENJOY 8D

Is the MiniCM7Pro v20 wifi/bluetooth MAC address fixed in this ROM?
When I installed paulxxx's ROM, both my wifi and bt MACs were changed to the default, I just with I could change them back to the original.
No bugs fixed, no new features... in resume: just a new theme for Paul's rom?
I'm just wondering
when are the links going to be up? or is it still a work in progress?

Because it's a known bug of the ICS Statusbar layout !
In fact, the files who must be changed for this addon are framework-res.apk and SystemUI.apk !
When you flash this addon (in the ROM), the first time it doesn't work so you must flash the originals framework-res.apk and SystemUI.apk from your ROM (Hotfix1) and only after flash again the ICS Statusbar Layout (Hotfix2) !

Paul's ROM is work like a charm for me, no bugs... I'm providing MY work to you... If you have bugs with Paul's ROM, try to solve them yourself !
No new features ? Whe haven't read the same paragraph...
I made this ROM for people who don't want to use apktool or apkmanager to apply some importants tweaks to the ROM...
But you are right Erze, this ROM doesn't fix your Wi-Fi/MAC adress rodrigoyasuda... Sorry.

You must flash the original 2.1.1.A.0.6 with flashtool !

This Firmware is only for U20i !!!
Flash this Firmware with flashtool, you will have a stock Kernel and you will be able to use this ROM

You can make it yourself ! Just open the .zip and remove files you doesn't want !
But this rom has a lot a tweaks that are made for work on the Stock Kernel !

I make this thread to poll how many people have sensors problem with MiniCM7. ( if you have trouble, post a message, because i do a mistake with the poll, and i can t see we have trouble , thanks )
My accelerometer doesn't work
NAA knows this probleme.
NAA have changed the driver of the sensor in the last MiniCM ( 2.1.4,2.1.5,.2.1.6,2.1.7 ) and now my sensor doesn t work. ( and for some other users )

I hope NAA is working on this probleme
But you can do that for now :
Open MiniCM 2.1.3 with winrar :
You need : libsensorservice.so ( system => lib ) and sensors.default.so ( system => lib => hw ); sensors.goldfish.so ( system => lib => hw )
Extract this 3 files .
Now, open the new MiniCM ( ex : 2.1.7 the lastest ) with winrar :
-go to system => lib; delete libsensorservice.so and add libsensorservice.so ( that s taken from MiniCM 2.1.3 )
-go to system => lib => hw; delete sensors.goldfish.so and sensors.robyn.so; and add sensors.default.so and sensors.goldfish.so ( that s taken from MiniCM 2.1.3 )
Now, flash your phone with the new MiniCM that is created, and your phone will use the compatibility driver, and your acceleromter must work
TESTED with my phone !
PS: This is my Modify version with compatibility driver

Turn on your phone and go to recovery
Wipe data/factor reset

Also the source SE drops is mostly missing bits.
I'm really not trolling the developer..
To be honest every rom since 2.2.1... has Accl issue's.

i have problem with the new sensor drivers too! They were working at the beginig but not now! I have the same problem with ics!

Accelometer problem
Since minicm 2.1.3 I have the same problem too...Sensors don't respond at all...I had asked nAa but we couldn't find a solution and I thought I was the only one with this problem...
I have no sensors problems at all, sometimes just a little lag
I have that problem too. In alarmdroid, alarm can be stopped via flip or shake - I am used to that and now it doesn't work. App worked in original system, in SonyStyle but when I switched to this, it stopped working.
EDIT: Is there any way, how to use posted fix without system wipe? I just (friday) installed new rom, all apps, and then set them up properly - it took me some time and I don't have much of that right now. I don't really want to wipe again

2. Do you have a screen off profile?
I am sorry, I just missed something in app - it works when alarm sounds, but it doesn't work in app, when I try to setup it. I have checked it via some sensor monitor and it works well.
I jumped to conclusion, because previously, it worked in that app even in setup mode and now I presumed, that it doesn't due to system changes.

I use Alarmdroid too (and MiniCM 2.2.0), and I have exactly the same issues: sensors don't work in app setup, but they do when an alarm sounds or when testing with other apps.

I had this problem back in version 2.1.1... the sensors didn't work at all... I put it in the miniCM thread and n4a told me to do a full wipe, which I did, and now everything works like a charm ^^.

Installation Instructions :
Transfer the zip file you downloaded above to your internal sdcard (not the external micro SD).
Turn off the phone, then boot into recovery mode. For this, press and hold Menu Button Until CWM screen shows up: Volume Button.
Phone will boot into CWM recovery. Use volume keys to scroll up and down between options and power/home key to select an option.
Perform a wipe:
Select “wipe data/factory reset”. Then select “Yes” on next screen to confirm. (This will not touch your SD cards so don’t worry).
Go to “advanced” and then select “wipe dalvik cache”, then select “Yes” on next screen. Now, go back to main screen of recovery.
Select “mounts and storage”, then select “format system”. Select “Yes” on next screen to confirm. Go back to main recovery menu after system format is complete.
Then, select “install zip from sdcard”, then select “choose zip from sdcard”. Then, browse to the file you transferred to the sdcard in step 2 and select it.
Confirm installation on the next screen by selecting the option ”Yes — Install MooDeD ICS.zip“. The ROM will now start installing.

Same question here.
Guess you will be providing a NEO V patch soon.
Moreover you can have only one thread on NEO and just add neo v patch there, to keep issues limited to one thread and share reviews

Flash the stock ICS beta kernel... present in other ICS threads ..

Thanks understood already. Tried the AOSP ROM and somehow now Google Play asks me to buy apps i have already purchased, even though they still show up in my orders list. Gonna try this and see what happens. probably something due to ICS.

Okay, tried on Neo V, the camera is completely messed up, so I guess it needs a patch. Wifi also seems to be quite slow, but i guess that's a problem on all Sony ICS ROMs.
Hmmm.. Interesting Im Gonna FIX It ASAP..

Yeah, camera view shows up all red as if the G and B values have been made zero, plus the viewfinder image is reversed 180 degrees. And taking a pic comes all garbled as seen in this image:

I think you can use the patch on AOSP for Neo V. It has correct Neo V drivers + working flash...
also can you tell me the overall UI experience? was it laggy? Have you played HD games such as Backstab, Asphalt, any changes?

Overall UI was smooth, definitely good enough for use.
Didn't try any games, nope. My Neo V is new with just the inbuilt 2 GB SD card, so not trying any games at this point coming from the Galaxy S which had internal 16 GB, i have no spare high capacity SD cards yet
Also, the slow wifi is a problem for me, so i switched to another ROM for now.
