Ok....
1. Remove the battery and put it back in to make sure its off
2. Hold both Volume buttons while powering on the phone
3. You should go into recovery mode
If not then you gotta Odin your way out.

i can only get to download mode.... no recovery mode!
dont know how!

Well you could use a JIG to get into download mode, but you need a functioning USB connection to use Odin....can you use another PC?

Well I dont really need I think the JIG because with buttons combinations I get on download mode!
ODIN is not an option because my phones usb port I think is ruined.... I connect it to my pc and it only shows as USB Device not Recognized.
If I could fix my phones usb port I could ODIN it....
Now I think theres a combination for recovery mode but I cant get to recovery mode...

OK i misread....i thought your PC's USB ports were messed up....so you can get into Download mode but not CWM Recovery??...usually its the other way around...i'll do some searchin for you

Have you installed the drivers on your pc? May want to, it should recognize the phone for odin then.

drivers are installed and everything but i cant make my pc to recognize my device!

Do you know how to get to recovery mode?

press and hold up and down volume rocker while holding down power button at the same time, wait until you get to first splash screen then release, this should get you into recovery mode.

"THE FACTS
1. Voodoo recovery is included with the kernel, however you can not see it on your phone. However, you can install the program android screencast and view recovery on your computer.
2. Is OK to install coming from a Voodoo enabled rom.
3. If coming from a clean JFD install, you may or may not hear Linda's voice. You will sit at the double rainbow for about 5 minutes before it boots. It is converting to ext so do NOT do a battery pull!
4. ONLY THE KERNEL PROVIDED WILL WORK!!! DO NOT FLASH ANY OTHER 2.2 KERNELS!!!!
5. This comes pre-rooted!
6. Includes KB1 Modem
7. Only REAL issue at present is the GPS does not work."
OMFG Im lost i think i would never boot this device unless I fix the usb port!

please someone help me!!!

How do you know the usb port is damaged? I suggest attempting to use other usb ports on your computer
It sounds like you flashed the gingerbread double rainbow rom if iI remember correctly the only way back to stock or other roms is to use odin
You are able to get into download mode which is a plus but you need to exhaust all possible resources in checking your usb port is ok, maybe you just need a new cable but I find that unlikely as you have to use the usb to charge your phone but in either case its worth a shot.
Sent from my AXURA powered voodoo infused Categorically Worthless Vibrant

It seems that I cant see nothing in recovery mode..... I finally booted the phone to rainbow....
Not a really stable gingerbread build... Now i want to go back to 2.2.1 but cant because I cant see nothing on recovery mode... If someone could use screencast to show how is the recovery menu displayed I could flash back to 2.2.1.....
Shreddintyres:its not the cable nor the pc usb ports.... Its the phone usb port theres no other possibility

This is the easiest way. Download Terminal from Market and enter SU (gives you root access) and then type reboot download
Your phone will reboot into Download mode
i tried the su reboot download and it didnt detect it and i reinstalled the drvers too no luck cuz it says usb device not reconized when in download mode but when in recovery or normal mode it is detected no issue
Here's how I do it if everything else fails. Have ODIN v1.3 opened up first. Next, make sure phone is in debug mode and make sure its checked . Next, while phone still connected to pc, remove back cover and pull battery out. Before inserting the battery back in, hold the phone side ways while pressing the volume up/down at the same time now insert the battery. Your screen should now display yellow big letters -
Download Mode - Do not turn off target.

Read the Vibrant Bible here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=771111 . Read the top 2 sections --Useful links and Odin.
By the way, is your phone rooted?
Have you tried using a different USB port? Sometimes that helps.
yes the phone is rooted and i tried using odin v1.0 and 1.7 ill try 1.3 idk if it makes a difference
One method I've read on the boards is to flash "Eugene's froyo that doesnt' Brick". Of course that is an Odin file so...we need to get Odin working for you. Like icandy said, try a different USB port and see if that works. If nothing else also post in Master's Axura thread and ask him/her what the best method of downgrading to 2.1 is. I'm not sure if you'd have to flash Eugene's Kernel Back Support or not. I know this isn't too helpful but hopefully it'll give you a few ideas.

If it's booting to recovery and not dl mode, you've done it wrong.
Make sure it's only vol + and vol - and then USB.
Sent from my SGH-T959 using XDA App
nope i am doing it over and over it just goes to a cwm screen and says waiting for usb to mount
As it says in op on front page!!! make sure u can get into dl mode before flashing cm7! Could u get into dl mode before??? keep trying and if it doesnt work maybe a usb jig would work.
ill get one of those usb jigs lol but yes i could get into dl mode before

Ace Totally Bricked

I usually work with iPhones so Android phones are a new field for me...
I have a friend who rooted his Samsung Galaxy Ace and then installed Android 2.3.4 but he decided to install something as he says that "doubles the ram memory of the device" well as soon as he installed this the phone immediatelly got bricked.
I have it here in my hands and I tried entering RECOVERY, DOWNLOAD mode and it was impossible.
So I tried pressing all the button (Vol+,Vol-, Home and Power) and the device was USB recognized by my PC,installed its own drivers but nothing showed up on the screen. Then I pressed Home and Power and USB sound ran again and from there on the phone does not react to any combination of buttons, taking out the battery or anything and the PC does not see it anymore.
I tried to be as specific as possible cause I really want to help this guy... So If anyone knows what are the possible solutions besides "take it to samsung care center" I'd really appreciate it!
Thansk!
Install KIES from Samsung so you have the drivers for the phone.
Install ODIN and run on your pc so you can flash a stock ROM (you don't need to have KIES running at the same time)
Take the battery out of the phone and connect it to the pc with ODIN running via USB.
If ODIN detects the phone put the battery back in and now you can flash with a stock rom and your phone will now work.
There are instructions on this forum where to find ODIN and how to load a ROM into it ready to flash.
have u tried the USB Jig?

I'd save that for plan B, If it's showing up on a PC it's not bricked.
Bricked = no power, no response, no detect by pc no nothing.

But Can I download any ODIN? Because I've seen through the forum that there are several ODINs for different Samsung Models... besides there are several ODIN versions! So which one do I need to download? Please a little help here cause in the Android field I'm still a noob!
Also as I told you, the first time the PC recognized the phone when I pressed ALL the buttons... but afterwards it does not recognize it anymore... does it have to do anything with that KIES you are just telling me about? Also which KIES should I download?
Thansk!
To me it doesnt wounds like its "Totally Bricked", take the battery out and leave if there for awhile, come back later on and see if you can enter download mode.
If you want you drivers to be installed correctly, download the KIES (2.1 i guess?) and get ODIN to reflash it.
we have a how to unbrick thread ....try d steps http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1071970

Ok... this is as far as I have come.... The guide for unbricking seems good, there is only one problem. I've already Loaded ODIN with the firmware files and boot, and all those files. But I can NOT, I repeat I can NOT enter DOWNLOAD MODE (Vol-,Home, Power Buttons). I can only enter EMERGENCY DOWNLOAD MODE (Vol+,Vol-, Home and Power Buttons) and the good news is that ODIN is ABLE to recognize it, BUT as soon as I hit star it stays stuck at "<1> setup connection..." Well before you start saying to search forum for solutions, well I did, and I found this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1188378
The guy had this same problem and he realized his problem was that he was entering EMERGENCY DOWNLOAD MODE rather than DOWNLOAD MODE. BUT I can NOT enter DOWNLOAD MODE the phone just doesn't enter this mode, only the EMERGENCY DOWNLOAD MODE so what can I do to make ODIN flash my phone!!????? Please help!!

Ok So I finally did it. Bought the USB Jig! From here:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/Samsung-I910...90122901388427
And Guess What! IT DID NOT WORK!!!
This was my last resort and now I don't know what to do! But pay attention the funny thing, AS I mentioned earlier in ALL my posts! Is that the phone is recognized by ODIN but only in EMERGENCY DOWNLOAD MODE (It even says "COM PORT 18") But in this mode ODIN doesn't flash it, I needed DOWNLOAD MODE which was the reason why I bought the USB JIG, but it is not working! Is there a some kind of workaround to get the JIG working? PLEASE I REALLY REALLY need help!!!
Thanks!

[Q] [SOLVED] Odin wont recognize my device unless it is powered on?

I am running stock 2.1 Eclair. My kernel is JFD. I am rooted. Please help.
You can put your phone in download mode, then you can use Odin. Make sure your phone is off, then press the volume button + and - at the same time, connect your phone via usb, then your phone should be in download mode and Odin should recognize your phone.
with your Girlfriend? Tech info please...
Haha I know that.
I may be misunderstanding the whole point of this thread, but WHY would Odin, or the PC, or any other Earthly technology recognize your device if it was powered OFF?
You want a connection it better have juice.

Yes, you must be in download mode. That's the phone state Odin uses to communicate with your device.
With all sincerity, there many, many guides that I would check, These threads are difficult,if we dont know your problem, level of expertise, or intentions,...good peeps that can help.
Alright... Thanks anyway guys, I appreciate it.
Any ideas where to check for help?
Here is fine, I think we are all confused. I thought the question was: Does my phone need to be in Download Mode to be recognized by Odin?
The answer to that is: yes.
Is there another question? This is the right place, fire away friend.
whats going on i guess its not working for you yet i see ....what is it that you are trying to do you lost me now lol.....if your rooted mate then you should have the update.zip file to install CWM recovery on your SD then install ROM manager search around for it people say its not in the play store but its all the way at the bottom if you search ROOT install the app and follow the onscreen to install the recovery mod and then you should be good to go on flashing turn your phone off and and hold all 3 buttons to turn it back on as soon as you see the logo pop up let go of the power button and you should be in your recovery then install zip from SD send PM if your lost
Haha sorry for not making that clear. I went into download mode and it didn't recognize it. I knew it had to be in download mode. I ended up restarting my computer and plugged it into a USB 3.0 instead of a 2.0 port and it worked just fine... Thanks anyways for trying to help.
Haha thanks I had CWM installed, I just needed to restart my PC and plug the cable into a USB 3.0 instead of a 2.0...

Odin doesn't recognize phone in download mode + stuck recovery is not seandroid

Hi Guys,
I tried flashing twrp with ROM control but it went totally wrong..
I had cwmod and CardHDrom installed, but wanted to install the newer version of it.
Phone is in a bootloop with Recovery is not seandroid reforcing, so I can't get into recovery mode.
I also tried to boot it in safe mode but it keeps restarting and immediately with the notification recovery is not seandroid reforcing.
I tried to go in download mode and yes I installed the most recent drivers, but my pc won't recognize my phone..
My question: Since we don't have an external SD card, is it possible to use a usb stick ( with mini usb connector) and flash the rom + recovery on the usb, so i'll be able to boot my phone up with the USB stick (trough an OTG cable) and save my data ?
model: Samsung galaxy s6 edge 925f
Thanks in advance!

I have seen this happen a few times on here. And tbh im not sure how to fix it. If odin wont recognise it and you cant get in recovery theres not much you can do. Normally when this hapoens the phone is still picked up in odin. So when you plug it to odin in download mode odin is just blank and nothing happens at all? Dont say added or anything? Because it just needs recovery flashing. Have you tried adb?

I very much doubt it. You can try but honestly i dont think it will work. You would still need custom recovery to unstall the rom from sd card
Make sure you try other USB ports, as well as other cords. This happened on a note 5 I was working on. I was using the cord that came with the phone and Odin wouldn't recognize the phone. I tried a few different cords and found one that Odin liked.
It's worth a shot
