I performed a search on here and find lots of posts about how to turn them on but nothing discussing the issue I'm having which is that they keep turning themselves back off. It's driving me insane!!!
I have a Touch Pro with Sprint. I go into settings and enable all notifications to display on the screen for new reminders, email, sms, etc. I've done both soft reset and no soft reset after enabling them and it doesn't seem to matter. After a few days the notifications checkmarks have seemed to uncheck themselves and the pop up notifications stop working. Then I have to go in a re-enable them all. I've gone through this about 10 times in the last two weeks and it's wearing on my last nerve.
Does anyone know what is causing this and more importantly know how to fix it once and for all? Is there something in the registry that keeps making it default back to no popup notifications that I need to change?
Thanks in advance for any help you can give me. Other than this issue I love the phone!
I have noticed 2 things with the new Sprint TP:
1. They work better after a hard reset. More stable and faster.
2. There are some programs I tried out that were written for the diamond (i.e. advance config). They have caused some unwanted side effects, like not keeping settings I had intended (i.e. hardware button tap sounds always turned themselves off etc.).
If you have any of those programs on your TP, one of those might be the culprit.
Either way, I would suggest a hard reset and then (if applicable) installing each program and seeing if it's messing things up.
As follow up, it appears that Advanced Config is the culprit. I uninstalled it, reset all of my notifications to display on screen and finally did a soft reset. Popup notifications are still working strong for almost a week now!
Thanks!
Vibration does not work when I get the message. I read somewhere that it is a bug. Can this be solved by root?
maybe...try to root or change ROM
samsung galaxy s2 vibration not working with text
Hi guys,
I had the same problem the other week. My phoneSGH T-989) stopped vibrating for the incoming texts and other notifications. I did everything even a factory reset but it did not help at all. Luckily, my roommate has the same phone and he doesn't have any problems with the vibration so I put both phones side by side adjusted for the same setting, deleted all the apps that I have but he doesn't, another factory reset and yet I had it not working.
I thought it was due to an app interfering with the notifications. I did another factory reset but this time I DIDN"T BACK UP WITH MY GOOGLE ACCOUNT which brings up all the apps you previously had(I had only synched my contacts) and that's it; It works like day 1(works with texts, whatsapp, viber and everything else)
I still don't know what app was causing it but I am assuming it was the battery widget I was using to display battery level on the notification bar.
Hope this helps!
Straight to the problem: sometimes (and in a very unpredictable manner), when i have an incoming call, plenty of problems show their ugly face. First of all, i sometimes can't accept, or decline an incoming call, because the screen isn't responding to input. Sometimes i can go around this by pressing the on/off button twice, and that would enable the screen. But, sometimes even that doesn't work. The phone just keeps ringing until the caller eventually gives up. When that happens, the phone continues to function normally.
Another problem is constant vibrations i noticed in several occasions. Instead of vibrating in "pulses" or "waves", the phone just keeps vibrating constantly, which can be very annoying in combination with the problem mentioned in the first paragraph.
At first i though it's a bug in my ROM (CM9 port for legend), but have heard people experiencing the problem on other stock devices (Galaxy SII on stock ICS, for example). So it is not that rare, but to this day i haven't been able to find a solution.
Did anyone manage to solve this problem, or find any information as to how this can be avoided?

I have the same problem with my phone. Any solution for this problem thx
Reflash, reflash, and if it happens again - reflash. The screen lock/unlock workaround was working about 90% of the time. I gave the phone to my father (clean new flash) and he didn't experience any issues with the rom so far.
I am facing a weird and annoying problem on my phone, Mega SGH-I527M running Marshmallow 6.0.1 CM13. It seems whenever a voice is to be heard (like when making a phone call, a messenger call, listening to a voice messaage on social media apps like Telegram, Viber, etc.) the screen goes all black.
In case of Skype and Telegram it is so bad! After receiving a Skype call, my screen never gets back even when I hit home button and I have to hard restart my phone!
My first guess was that my proximity sensor is bad, but that sensor is working... When I put my hand over proximity sensor the screen gets dimmer and when I take it out of its way, screen gets brightened; so it seems it's functioning. Where is the issue?
Any help is appreciated, as this issue is really annoying.
Cheers
I've seen your request link on silesh's thread i faced the same with a theme. If you have install a theme, or you have to erase it with all its datas (after install the system's theme) or you can as i did choose another way to wake un screen. Mine was to choose volume button to wake up screen and never more problem. Also, you can check and clean your proximity sensor

Please make sure you have a full wipe (data, system, cache, dalvik, etc...) before flashing the rom, reboot recovery, install latest opengapps and reboot system.
If your problem persists clean cache again in recovery and reboot.
If the problem is still there try another rom. Please remember the developer no longer owns the Mega, so it's a lot harder for him to bug fix.
For future reference, I resolved this immensely painful issue with this app: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.vrognaas.proximityfix
I am a careful Android user when it comes to flashing etc.
I am running Android 9 on a Galaxy Note 9. On several occasions while reading my text messages my phone will call the contact who's messaginges I was reading. This seems to happen mostly when I try to put my phone in my pocket after reading a text.
I am curious as to what could be causing this and if it can be turned off. I suspect it's some sort of gesture or accessibility feature I am accidentally activating, but it's getting quite annoying so whatever it is I want to turn it off. Any help identifying the source is appriciated.
