Im getting ready to buy this phone, its the Virgin Mobile US model which to me looks to be exactly like the Optimus S from sprint. I was wondering what my ROM options were using this specific model, or if that even really mattered much. I want maximum performance for games and apps but aiming for decent battery life too, maybe something that scales and only overclocks when it needs it kinda thing (ive played with SetCPU and Milestone Overclock before on a moto Defy). Any help would be appreciated.
On a sidenote, does anyone know how Rocket Bunnies runs on this phone?

Someone from android central tried cm7 for the optimus s and said it was working pretty good.
saw a phandroid post of a rom called Xionia-VM designed for the optimus V. Ill keep an eye out for that, do you guys have any experience with this?
Here's a subforum dedicated to optimus V, it may be possible to use the ROMs from Optimus S, since they're so similar, but it might be best to ask there first.
yeah from what i gather if i use Optimus S roms the home and menu buttons will be backwards and the accelerometer wont work. @[email protected]
There are 2 working ROM's so far on the Android Central Forum for Optimus V, I'm currently running Rodmius 1.1 myself. Works great. Haven't tried Xionia yet
Hi im goin to get a sub AU$200 android phone for my bday. The two im deciding between are the lg optimus one (AU$199) or the huawei sonic (AU$188).
thanks in advance to anyone that helps
lg P500 thread will only support P500
For me the cincher would be RAM. O1 has 512mb while Sonic just has 256, even though Sonic is newer. Plus if you like tinkering with custom ROMs and kernels, community support for O1 is better than any sub-$200 Android phone that I know.
That said, if you can get an O1 successor like Optimus Net or Optimus Hub, those are like O1 with better camera but same price, so I would put them in consideration too.
I consider this same phone. I think that optimus is better, cause has more RAM.
But sonic isn't bad. I don't know, I ask each friends but I still don't know. Can you help me?
xperia mini pro \m/
surely LG O1 ... has a more ram, better screen etc....

What is the differnce between the screens. All i know is sonic is 3.5 and o1 is 3.2. But i thought they both had the same
resolution

Hi all,
out of curiosity would Android 4.0 even be possible with an LG Optimus considering the baseband T-Mobile is using for the GMS system?
Also would the hardware of the phone be enough to run ICS?
Just curios.

Yes end of the answer. Need 3D driver working. Tough
Sent from Mexico
Thank you for the answer
the reason why I switched to 2.3 was I was under the assumption that the HTML5 Canvas element is accelerated but as it looks it is not really much faster than 2.2.2.
I develop a HTML5 game which should run on low end smart phones which is why I use an LG Optimus.
Ah well ...
Hello.
Is it possible to port/compile/get working somehow ICS on a device that runs only Froyo? I mean, the only available and supported ROM is Froyo. If it is possible, how can I start with getting ICS working on it? Just compile ICS and pack needed drivers and libs into it?
This device is GSmart G1317D with small amount of RAM and 240x400 screen.

It would be possible however drivers are not as simple as taking them from froyo, ICS require its own drivers different to those found in froyo so porting drivers becomes a really pain

I see. I've used Google for a while and I found a similar model to this phone but with ICS. It's only with a bit faster processor and a bit bigger screen. Is it possible to port that ROM to this phone? That phone is G1342 from the same manefacturer.

The problem is that GSmart didn't show any deeper specs of its devices. How can I check it by myself?

Ok, I'll look for those info. Thank you.
Now that LG has updated its low-end like LG Magna, Spirit, even Leon (which has lower specifications), etc.
Is it possible for developers to adapt some of these stock roms to this device?? for those who love the LG stock UI ):

Dont know - looks possibble but you must know that devices must have the same CPU, the same quantity of RAM and good if will have the same resolution of screen. All of them are difference.

Hi! I don't know much of that stuff but I saw that the LG Spirit has the same amount of RAM , same processor power but the models are different, and the resolution of the LG Spirit is HD compared to G2 mini. Any hope? ):
if g2 gets update, maybe we got to

different models of cpu - that's what makes it not possible to port.
everything must be the same or similar - but model of cpu etc must be the same.
unfortunately

I think so, though not so possible. Probably Lollipop is the latest - our phone getting old.
If you PORT it will be frightening system.
