This is my wife's phone. I never had this problem before where if you look at the image. The buttom custom icon. Their suppose to be transparent. But as you can see you see the black background on them. I have a tbolt and use the same icon but mine is transparent. So I'm not sure if its a fascinate problem or SC or what. Any help would be great.
Her rom is SC 2.9 voodoo on. no custom kernels or anything. Close to stock and no theme or anything. Any help would be appreciated. She use to have a dinc with no problem with transparency. So I'm lost. Thx again.

Hm, interesting. I have used LPP for a long while now. Well, while I have no tried and true fix, I SUGGEST just uninstalling/reinstalling. See if that helps, then, maybe try some icons that you KNOW for a FACT are transparent, just place them on her SD card and long press any of the launcher icons and select change icon, select the one you put on the SD card. Maybe somehow the .png files with transparency got mixed up with .jpg's or something. Wish I had something better, but it is a start.
OK. I've tried the uninstall and reinstalled method no luck. Ill try to redownload those icons I got. But only reason I knew it works cause on my tbolt icons work perfectly. I'm baffled. Ill check the file name make sure its still PNG.

This baffles me as well. Only time that I have ever encountered this was when I accidentally downloaded the PREVIEW of the icons I wanted (Which were .jpg and of course have no transparency) instead of actually downloading the real icons (.png files WITH transparency). I would imagine this is the problem, then again, who knows?
maybe the transparent parts are actually white? try using photoshop or any other image editor and see if those pixel dots are whitened or transparent...

i think that is your contact header (contact_header_bg.9.png) look in **your rom's name**\system\framework\framework-res\res\drawable-hdpi your add contact symbol should be next to it..hope it helps

Hi,
All of those are inside Contacts.apk, courtesy of Samsung's crap touchwiz:
the blue bar (either or both, I don't remember anymore): /res/drawable-hdpi-finger - status_bar_header_background.9.png & winset_selectall_bg.9
the plus sign button/background: /res/drawable - btn_search_dialog_voice_default.9.png etc (3 total for the different states)
the actual plus sign: /res/drawable-hdpi - btn_create.png & btn_create_press.png

I was able to change the plus sign background, but not the bar that goes across the screen behind it. I changed what you told me to, soniqu3, but it didn't seem to change it.
What other file could this be?

Sorry about that, yet another instance of crap-wiz being horribly inconsistent.
FYI, that blue-bar style throughout touchwiz is *usually* the status_bar_header, or winset_selectall I mentioned before.
Of course, here in contacts, even though it already had *BOTH* of those drawables, they added a third (that I forgot I had changed too, sorry.)

FYI (not that you care) I utterly despise touchwiz with a passion, and will never buy another samsung phone because of it. They should be calling these resources from framework-res.apk, or at the very worst, their own, twframework-res.apk, instead of cluttering the system by embedding them in every stupid app.
Ugh, seriously annoying.
Anyway, rant over, hope that fixes it.

Got tried of the Gingerbread look, I kinda missed a little blur. I do enjoy a little bit of black though. Still a work in progress, and there are a lot of things that still need to be done. Let me know if you find any bugs or want to suggest something. I'm no photoshop artist; so credit is due where credit is due. This is mashed up from places, and a lot of modifications by me.

If you want to know how I changed the ERI Banner from "Verizon Wireless" to my name, head over to my tutorial I posted!
This is great, installed fine. Main problem is, can you upload these and this version without your name as the ERI instead of making us do it? Probably back to Verizon Wireless. Also some of the text for certain programs in the notification bar is white on white (Dropbox when uploading/downloading).
I'm not running Eclipse yet (waiting for newer update) but was wondering where you got that lockscreen and if you could change the lockscreen to look more like this theme. I love the blue for 3G and Signal .
Oh! Whoops....... forgot i gad my name on there. I pulled it straight from my phone. The lock screen should be styled, it's part of pattern lock. The slider lock screen is just Gingerbread style, ill look into getting a Honeycomb slider lock screen.

I'm running cm7 1.6.1 on t'bolt and I'm noticing when I go into sub menus instead of switching, it overlaps. I'm also running animod but not sure if that's the cause, because it didn't always do that.

I'm going to go out on a limb and suggest that you changed the default fonts to something of your own liking and that the font is most likely to blame...
Agreed. It definitely looks like fontface and size were changed which is causing the overlaps.
Thanks for the reply guys but what I meant was if I do menu>settings>adwlauncher>uisettings.....the menu that would come up, appears on top of "uisettings"(for example) I added a clearer pic. These are two screens showing at the same time.

I would say it's a problem with "animod" or your settings. I assume animod modifies animations or transitions which is probably what caused your problem when going from one menu to the next. It's definitely not a CM problem though. Try removing animod, restoring to a backup prior to animod changes, or wipe and flash CM...problem will probably vanish.
Ok well after a full wipe and flash. I found out animod wasnt the problem it was the epic bold and blue theme I was using from the theme chooser. Which sucks cuz it was the best blue theme. Thanks for all the help.

Yea, whenever you have a problem...always mention if you've themed anything. I have never used (or heard of) animod so that was the likely candidate to me since I wasn't sure exactly what all you did with it or what it does and you didn't mention themeing.
Either way, glad you figured it out.

Hope this is in the correct location. Im trying to find a way to have i guess a minimalist home screen. I just want to have whatever apps on my homescreen to have no icons just the label. But i want the apps in the draw to still have the icons. Not sure if i explained that too well. I had i believe ADW launcher with a minimalist theme. But it also took away the icons in the draw. Which i guess wasnt all that bad but it didnt change all of them. Some had just the label and others still had the icon so it was a mess.
Does anyone know a way i can have just the apps on my homescreen just show the label and no icon? Or
Manually change whatever icons in the draw didnt change with that minimalist theme?

You are missing something.
1. Add widget
2. Widget option
3. Predefined Widget (select custom)
4. Custom Layout
5. Add > Misc > Static Text > Text Here (app name in your case)
6. Go back
7. Start Another Activity or a Shortcut
Then your done, just repeat till you have everything you want.
Its really customizable so you can have the text in almost any way you want, explore it some more.
Simple text from the market. You must be using an alternate launcher other in than stock. You can make text only jpegs and assign them to use as an icon. The apps will look normal still in your app drawer.
See my dock icons in the picture below. Is this what you want?

Thought this belonged in Themes and Apps more so than the Q&A thread, and I apologize if I was incorrect...
I tried ROM Toolbox to change the icons, but only the battery icon gets changed.
I tried UOT Kitchen (for the first time), set the mods how I wanted it, clicked Summary then Submit work to kitchen, but nothing happened. I then looked around and saw the File upload tab, opened it, and saw NOTHING that I knew what to do with next.
Anyone want to make my recipe, for a donation?
