Is there any way of completely removing this? It's causing my phone to restart and crash every now and then. I've used the search feature and found nothing about removing it.

Repair the firmware using PC companion or SEUS.
But out of curiosity, how sure are you on this causing your phone to reboot?
before doin or installing anything on ur phone... fellas, make sure u do a backup of ur current rom, just incase if anything goes wrong... u can restore it back..... (take a note ,so that u'll never face a problem like this again)
flash baseband through flash tool then do fresh rom installation in xrecovery

I've accidently done system format and wiped my whole phone. When I switch the phone on it sticks on the "Sony Ericsson" screen, I've tried pressing the back button hoping to get back to xrecovery but everything has gone.
I've read a few posts saying that pc companion can fix the problem but after trying that it doesn't find my phone, what has made it worse I don't have any back up stored anywhere to try fixing the problem
Can anyone please help me get my phone up and running again especially as it is my main contact to my son
Uninstall pc companion and redownload and install it,(That should sort the drivers out to recognise your phone) and if that does not work try SEUS
looks like you will have to go back to stock then use flashtool to root and reinstall xrecovery and start again...

Thanks. In the process of downloading both now. Would I be able to go back to stock using either of these as I did not have anything backed up, not even the stock rom....my rom was stock anyway only rooted to get rid of certain apps
As an alternative you can use the flashtool and flash a generic firmware. That will put a stock rom and maybe even get an updated baseband depending on which firmware you grab. Check this thread and maybe bookmark it too:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=928343
Yes, either of these will put you on stock rom with the latest firmware and baseband for your region and phone.
hope you manage to sort it out...let me know if you have any problems, you can always pm if you need to

Hi guys,
I don't know very well what to do. The screen timer to turn it off from the display settings menu is at 1min, but it can stay hours on. Somehow the setting is being overriden, so I take it may be another app doing so? DO you know what may be causing it? Or how to investigate it?
Thank you!

Don't flash a new ROM, but don't just factory reset either.
Have you installed any apps before you noticed the screen staying on? Some apps will not let the screen sleep.
Check what apps you've installed since the change. Are you rooted and have you granted any apps Superuser permissions?
I'm guessing reboot doesn't work, sometimes Titanium backup or another backup program can mess with settings if you restore them, especially if it is a different version of Android. Did you do that by any chance?
I haven't downloaded anything recently, I literally just picked up my phone after I woke up and I got a message saying "the application tasks provider has stopped working unexpectedly" and it gives me the option to force close. When I close it, a similar message pops up for email, messaging, social hub, tw launcher, facebook and it keeps going on and on without giving me a chance to use the phone. Do you guys know what I can do? I would be extremely grateful if you could help me out.
Bwahahahaa ;-) Gold.
Yes i've tried that. I've take the battery pack, memory card and sim card out, then replaced them but the loop keeps occuring. It's gotta be more of a software issue and that's why I need your help.
You haven't told us anything whatsoever about your setup/rom/kernel/etc. We're not mind readers
Try a factory reset in the first instance.
If you're running anything other than stock firmware, go back to stock firmware.
i recomendeed to change your rom..
i think that is a crush from your system, mate..
About 4 months ago I had exactly the same problem.
Is there Debugging-Mode enabled in you're phone?
Is you're phone rooted?
Try to take out only the SIM Card and then connect it to you're PC. Then turn the S2 on and try to backup all you're data.
If you're phone is rooted, try to boot up in CWM Recovery Mode and go to "advanced" and then "Fix Permissions". It shuold solve you're problem.
If you're phone isn't rooted, then you have to flash a stock or custom ROM.

Sorry about that man, but I have no idea what my setup/rom/kernel is, don't even know what most of that means. The thing is I can't even go to the settings on my phone to check because the popups won't allow me to.

I know about technology but not like this. I have no idea what debugging mode/rooted or cwm recovery is. Any chance of explaining it to me in really, REALLY easy terms?
Sorry about my lack of knowledge guys, but I wholeheartedly appreciate you taking the time out to give me a hand.
1. Try wiping all data (fixed when i had the problem)
1. U need a kernel with CWM recovery (recommend siyah kernel)
2. Install with odin look on these forums for odin dont remember link
3. go to recovery (vol up+home button+power) and wipe data/cache (wipes everything apps, passwords, etc)
4. Try now if works click the thanks button

No problem man
Okay...when you have root permissions on youre phone you can write in system files and do other administrative work.
You can root youre phone by flashing a rooted kernel. The kernel is something like the heart of youre Android OS. You have to know some facts about youre S2, to root it successfully.
You have to know which Kernel version is installed at the moment. This information you can find in Settings -> About Phone -> Kernel Version (or something like that...my S2 is in German ). But when youre phone is bricked or youre system is damaged, its really hard or impossible to find out the kernel version. I think you won't be able to root it successfully :-(
So the only one possibillity to rescue youre S2 is, to flash a new firmware.

Wasn't with this phone, but when i used LG GT400 i had some problems as well and it really needed some hardware repairing in the store.
So maybe your phone needs a repairing as well, because in time some things in the phone start to lose it's capacity.
Or, you could change your camera apk and see if it still reboots the system, or it can be something about the SIM card as well because i was told that the problems i had with the LG phone could be because of the SIM card, so maybe a good idea is to change SIM card and take phone to Repair if the camera apk change doesn't work, and if going back to the Eclair Original ( not flashing a backup, not rooting, not having cwm, just flashing the Eclair Original by SEUS ) doesn't work either.
i just opened the phone and noticed that the sim holder tape is a bit cut, not cut at all but i think the wires has contact to each other.
can that problem be from that?
what can i do to be sure that thats the problem so to replace it.....

hey bro try this note:before you proceed im not responsible if anything happen to your phone do this at your own risk and backup before you do this...
Step 1
-update your phone with seus
-if a message popup that
your phone has already the latest version
-click install or yes(if im correct)
-if the update is finish go to step 2
Step 2
-install root explorer app if you have
-Root your phone via superoneclick
-Wait until it finish
-if finish download the xRecovery from this forum
-Follow the instruction... and if finish go to step 3
Step 3
Now your phone is rooted and have a xrecovery... do this
note: No need to unlock the bootloader... If you to verify Use s1tool to verify your bootloader unlocked or not...
-redownload the minicm7-2.2.1 for x10 mini and download the nAa-14 kernel from nAa's thread
-flash the nAa-14 kernel for GB(NOT JB) via flashtool
-power on your phone wait until it boots then go to recovery mode...
note:if your phone is not booted up repeat the step1 and 2
-do this in recovert
Backup your phone(dont skip)
Format system
factory reset
wipe dalvik cache
wipe battery stats
-then flash the rom then wait until it finish
-IF finish reboot system now
Now your phone has no problem

Hi guys,
I've been using my Sola for over a year now and I like the phone, i got the CM9 build from freeXperia on it (FXP 210 CM 9 PEPPER) with cwm on it and loved it.
Two weeks ago trouble began when the phone was very unreliable, it rebooted several times a day, sometimes I noticed that the phone got very warm when rebooting.
I found out that there was no diskspace left, so I deleted some of the playlists on Spotify that I downloaded and that gave me back about 2 gb of internal room.
Since yesterday some processes where quitting and this happened a couple of times (it was the google media process), this morning after being on the adapter for the night the problem was still there. So I rebooted the phone (normal reboot) and then the trouble really kicked in.
When I boot now I see a message stating "Android is being updated, starting apps" then I see my normal lockscreen and the errors start rollling in.
The only errors I can see are the "android.phone process stopped working" and "NFC service stopped". When I press close on those they keep coming back, so fast I cant't even get past my lockscreen anymore.
On the phone is some very critical data to me, I have to restore that data (its in a encrypted app database). As long as I can save that data and restore it to use when the android/app is restored I'm fine.
Can someone give me advise on how to continue?

Where is that data located? If it's on internal memory in it's own directory it will remain intact if you repair/flash firmware.
EDIT: some other thoughts, try to remove the SIM or switch to airplain mode.
I'm not 100% percent sure where it is located, It's on the internal memory but I'm not sure if where it is exactly. It's a database of an app.
Won't I lose all my files on reflash? Reflash can be done with fastboot right? And I should reflash the firmware (kernel?)? Not the rom itself?
Already tried rebooting with SIM and sdcard out, no luck though.
No luck on connecting to ADB, I tried but USB debugging is turned off and my drivers seem to let me down... I can get connect to fastboot
Other ideas?

Too bad USB debugging is off.
If database is on device memory than it will be lost if you wipe data on flash. If you don't wipe data you may still have those errors, but you can take your chances and try without wiping data.
Yes with flashtool, do you have the FTF file for the firmware you are currently using?
Is it tooted and have CWM on it?
I don't have the FTF anymore, but I know where to find it.
Luckily I have CWM on it.
Do I have to reflash with the zip or just run the update?

I think best is to make your own FTF.
Start repair with PC Companion, and when it finish downloading the files and ask to shut down the phone, stop and create the FTF as explained here.
The FTF can only be flashed with flashtool.
I don't mean to sound rude but why do I want my own FTF?
Do you mean a FTF from the OEM firmware, they can be downloaded from XDA as well.
Or do you mean creating an FTF from the files that are now on my phone?

I've seen a few people hat flashing firmware they download didn't work well for them but flashing with SUS or PCC did.
I'm not twisting your hand, if you rather use FTF you can download somewehere and it works then do that.
Ok so i tried to flash the kernel, the flashing went well but the error persists.
I think it's time to conclude that my data is gone..
It gave me some headaches and I sweared a lot but i got it working again.
I've flashed the boot.img, didn't resolve the issue.
I've updated the same rom over my old rom, didn't solve the issue.
I wiped cache only (to try and see if it would work) and this worked.
So it might have been a cache problem after all.
The updating android thingy was shown again only this time it said it had to update 100+ apps, and it did. After that I could use my phone again.
First things first, lets make a backup .
Thanks ChickeD (i've thanked you on XDA for your help)
