[Q] Quick question about JITv2 - XPERIA X10 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Is there any way of completely removing this? It's causing my phone to restart and crash every now and then. I've used the search feature and found nothing about removing it

try this but backup your system in case anything goes wrong
edit build.prop
Change: "dalvik.vm.execution-mode=int:jit"
To: "dalvik.vm.execution-mode=int:fast"

remove programs hanging under SER 1.2

Hi again,
Having a few problems with removing programs - when I select remove the "simon" like timer appears and then just stays there. The only way of getting out of it is a soft reset, but then I find there are remnants of the progs left ..
Anyone else encountered this ?

[Q] Decouple or Delete Contact.apk & Phone.apk

Hi,
does anyone know if I can delete contact.apk and phone.apk from the systems/app without getting a load of errors?
I am trying to remove the gui from the service basically.
I want to be able to load any contact / dialler in that I want without having the system one sitting around due to the fact that it provides some core service..
Thanks.
If you are rooted, then you could use root explorer (or any other with root functions) and mount that directory as R/W. Then you can delete anything you want. I would recommend getting a new dialer/contact manager fist and setting it as your default to avoid force closes. Why not just "freeze" it in case anything goes wrong? This way you'll be on the safe side.

[SOLVED] Remove Wifi module

Hi all,
I'm on XperiaU with CM9-ZIII and I'm having some real trouble with my wlan (probably a hw failure as I've tried literally everything,
from SUS, to other kernels/ROMs, factory resets, trying other access points etc).
So I want to ask if there is any way to permanently disable it. For instance I don't want to turn it on accidentaly (did I mention that it crashes and I have to factory reset each time it happens... ( ), or google services (whatever it is) that it turns it on when I try to log in with my g.account.
I tried removing the kernel module (cw1200_wlan.ko) but it would crash then on the next boot. No modprobe.d in Android...
Many thanks in advance for any info/help!
Edit: In case anyone has similar issue, I found a workaround by editing build.prop, wifi.interface=<non-existent name>

Notification toggles, weather widget goes degault after update

Hello, i am using NC5 build for a while. It's rooted.
I noticed, after deleting Verizon's bloatware, after every single phone restart my notification panel goes default order, My Files app goes default too (using S5 app) and my widget's Undefieing Demong.apk goes stops working.
So every restart i make, i have to set everything back, install apps again, set witdget again....
Is it possible to fix this problem? I had never had this problem. I would like to fix it without factory reset.
Thanks for replies
P.S in topic' name i made mistake. After restart, not after update

system/media sneaky kinky behaviour

Hello,
A friend gave me his Lenovo tab 10 X605F tablet that his university gave him.
I plan to root it change the theme, boot animation and return it to him.
But there is a problem: I can't change the startup animation of the university.
Each time I try to change the animation, either manually or with a "bootanimations" application, the system crashes
I tried to trace the problem and I found that the media/system folder can't be touched without the tablet crashing completely, it's like a safety feature, but I don't know how to remove it.
I tried to see if there are any services running in the background that prevent me from removing this application but I couldn't find anything.
Do you have any idea where this come from?
PS:
The tablet is root, has twrp and magisk
